What's astonishing is allowing me to keep the quote for a week and a half before having the work done, and he kept his word on the pricing even though I realized he could've charged me more! Each and every time time they have been throughout, friendly, and trustworthy. On my last oil change they ran a complementary overall vehicle check and ended up finding a problem, that if left unchecked, would have been very expensive down the road. And without me even having to ask, they brought me back and showed/explained the problem, along with answering all my questions. Communication during all services/repairs has always been easy and timely. VIP's customer service is top notch as well. When my car had to stay there for a few days, I was offered (at no cost) a ride from and back to the shop to pick up my car. (I lived very close at the time and realize that may be a factor going forward.) During the last repair, they were also able to give me a loaner car, which took away so much of the stress that comes along with having a car in the shop. They give honest, upfront estimates of what needs to be repaired before they do any work your vehicle, which is at a far better price than most dealerships or other auto repair businesses offer. Bruce, and his team have extensive experience with all makes of Honda and Toyota vehicles. As an ASE Master Certified Technician specializing in Honda products, he strongly recommends using authentic auto parts from these two trusted brands, and not generic, third-party manufacturers. Likewise, I've had my Civic tuned up and it runs like a champ, at less than half the price quoted by three other auto shops in the Ann Arbor-Ypsilanti area. No matter what the make or model of vehicle you own, be it domestic or foreign, Bruce and his team of dedicated mechanics will repair it no matter what the problem is. I'd like to get more work done here, but it will be cheaper and last longer if customers went elsewhere.. So.. typical independent auto shop?

Can't say enough good things about these guys; 5 stars only because we can't give more than 5…read more Here's my take on the auto repair business; there's 3 key things, two of which are very hard for the layperson to access. 1-Diagnosing the problem. 2-Fixing the problem. 3-Being honest about what needs done. 1-Jeff has many years experience and is excellent at diagnosing the problem. Obviously some things are easier than others; e.g., the brakes grind, you need brake pads; other noises or symptoms can be much harder to figure out. He's a master at figuring it out and won't give up till he has. 2-Fixing it. This is what every professional shop can do. 3-Honesty. This is the most important one - yet the hardest one for the layperson to assess. e.g., Did your brake job really need rotors too or would just pads have been enough. Did you really need that new radiator or was it just a hose that was leaking? Did you really need all the tie rods and ball joints and suspension links replaced or would've ball joints been enough? ...etc, etc. Sooner or later there will be times where a less-than-honest shop can oversell a repair for extra labor and parts dollars. And the layperson will never know. This is where the trust comes in. I am absolutely convinced Jeff is as honest and straight a shooter as there is in the car business. He'll tell you what your car needs and not oversell repairs you don't need.

Don't waste your time…read more I came to the shop with 3 problems: -A sound from the right side of my car. I gave them instructions on how to reproduce it, just drive the car on the highway -My car needed a regular service -I wanted to reset a warning light on the dash. They wasted my time and I left with more problems. They told me they would get to it that day on site. Then called me and told me they would not be able to get to it till the next. They don't even inspect it till the afternoon of the next day, and want to keep the car for another day. The next day they told me they were not able to reproduce the sound. I go in and immediately reproduce the sound with a tech in the car on the highway. They say they will look at it. I leave. I come back and they tell me they "aren't a shop specialized in fixing that problem" go to a different shop. Fine, I appreciate the honesty. They give me my car back. I turn on the car. Sound still there, Car regular service timer not reset - Such a simple thing, if they're cutting corners here what else are they cutting corners on? Warning light not reset. I go back in , ask them to reset both warnings. They come back, warning light needs a physical part and they need another part that they want to charge me for ~20 dollars, and for me to wait another few hours. They did reset the service timer. At this point they've wasted enough of my time. I leave, paying few hundred dollars for the service and them having wasted 3 days of my time. I go to a different shop. The fix is so simple they fix it for free in 20 minutes. Also they spam you with advertising texts despite never asking. In summary: They didn't fix any of my original problems, needed me to micromanage them to follow basic instructions to diagnose, are slow and incompetent.

Would not recommend. I took a 99 VW Beetle in for air conditioning repair. The battery had died…read morewhile it sat in their lot over the weekend, they jump started the battery to get it in the garage and then they said they would not look at the air conditioner unless I replaced the battery at a cost of $500. Absolutely ridiculous pricing. It takes 15min or less to remove the battery. A new battery at auto store is $150-200. I said no thanks I will pick the car up and take it elsewhere . They then charged me $170 for their "inspection". I jump started the car to get home, took the battery out (took 10 min), took the battery to the local auto store where it was tested and the battery was still good. So here I'm out $170 for absolutely nothing and the air conditioner still does not work. I do not understand why they wouldnt just charge the battery and fix the A/C. And $500 to swap out a battery is absurd. Will never go back and dont recommend .
