Response to Sandra's (Owner's) Message Just FYI for everyone - this place thinks "I believe" I had a reaction. I sent them all the photos of the bruised and burnt skin. It has not healed in weeks. They insisted I come in to the store to inspect in person , which I did. In spite of that they have the audacity to say I "believe" there was a reaction. This shows how sensitive they are to their customers. If they really care about the customer service, then refund me my money. Do they really think I would come back to this place for waxing after the experience I've had. This should tell people how this place cares about their customers. The technician never fully explained the potential risks or complications and instead kept assuring me that the treatment was safe and effective for my skin type, claiming most clients see little to no hair regrowth after completing their sessions. During the treatment, I experienced intense burning and pain, which I voiced immediately. I was told, "Your skin doesn't feel hot, so you're fine." That couldn't have been more wrong. I followed all aftercare instructions as provided, but just days later, my skin turned very dark and visibly burned. When I reached out to the owner to request a refund, not only did she dismissed my injuries, but she also refused to take any accountability. I received zero support, no empathy, and no refund--just a cold response that this was a "normal skin reaction" and I should have read the contract. Beware!!! Please READ!!! I found this place through a Groupon offer and had really high hopes, however every single thing that could possibly go wrong, did! The worst part after numerous efforts to resolve this in amicable way "Dare To Be Bare" did not "dare to care" about my complaints! Let's begin with my first appointment on November 2021 my right thigh got burnt leaving permanent visible marks on my skin, their staff said "it will go away", however my dermatologist confirmed the worst of my fears: it won't go away! Second visit on January 2022 the technician didn't care about the issue and just repeated "it will go away". Then, because I had already paid I continued going hoping that they'd take care of it and/or this burn was going to go away. Long story short, they continue to disregard my complaints about the burnt mark and today May 27th 2022 I go to my scheduled appointment and when I get there I'm told that I missed my appointment because it was last Friday! And they said they could not "squeeze me in". In conclusion, just do yourself a favor DO NOT GO TO "DARE TO BE BARE", horrible customer service and lack of responsibility and professionalism. I came in with a 6 session Groupon for bikini area and I am amazed with the results... most hairs were gone, compared to other places I've gone, you still see alot of hair growing after more than 6 sessions. I will be honest, I'm not sure the type of machine they use at Dare to Bare for laser but it was painful, but worth it! I rather it to hurt for less than 2 minutes and have amazing results than waste my time and money somewhere that it's not going to give me the end results I expected. The facility itself is small but clean and modern, it's too bad the aesthetican I had for my wax was a total b*tch. I got a brazilian, which of course is an awkward and very personal experience, but my specialist never made me feel close to comfortable. She always spoke less than 10 words to me throughout the whole session, and I'm not expecting her to hold my hand through it or anything, but I never felt at ease here for quite a personal service. I got the vibe that she wanted my session to be over and out of here as soon as possible, as she rushed through it both times I went. I don't know if that's because the business doesn't make as much $$$ with Groupon clients - if that's the case, then why offer the deal at all? Went for a brazilian wax through group on.. Not my first wax & personally when I go for a wax I'm looking for how gentle the person is & how comfortable they make me feel in the session. Sandy made me feel comfortable by having casual conversation with me but the wax was not the most gentle wax I experienced it was quite painful in fact.. Not to mention my vagina is very sore & puffy with a noticeable amount of hair left and mind you my hair is fine in texture so it's not me. She was nice though and informed their laser removal wasn't gentle on darker toned woman but told me what laser would be for hair removal. Dare 2 be Bare is great! I purchased a groupon for underarm and whole face laser treatments. I have done laser before, so I was prepared for some serious pain, but they have relatively new equipment that I hadn't seen before. It's very low levels of pain. I have now done 5 treatments on each area from my original groupon, and have since purchased packages for my legs and brazilian bikini area. Other than a slight sunburny feeling for about 2 days after a treatment, it's been relatively painless, especially considering the permanence of the treatment! I do agree that one of the technicians is naturally more personable and friendly than the other, but they both do great work, and I always feel mostly comfortable there. The place is always clean, and the receptionist always treats me like I'm a valued customer. Finally, since I came in through Groupon, I continue to get discounted services, which is why I have been able to treat so many areas. I highly recommend D2bB. I bought the groupon 6 visits. As I was doing my 5th trip last Thursday. The technician asked me if the results were ok? and If I was in the sun lately. I said the hair amount is the same, and I was walking around with a teeshirt, but not sun tanning. After the painful session, she burnt my first arm, she was using level 8 on me, and when she realized what she did she lowered the level on the left arm. I left the place with a first degree burn on my right arm and second degree burn on my left one. 3 days later, I can't wear summer cloths, and waiting for the burn marks to calm. I hope people will read this before committing to any packages. This place sucks, from the service to the machines to the technicians. I may have to press charges against them. They lie about the pricing and charged me $1600 for a groupon package and REFUSE to refund me the remaining portion of my $1600 purchase. This place is the biggest scam EVER! Their laser is outdated and causes severe scarring on chest and stomach. It is excruciatingly painful. I signed up for lip hair removal. The girl with lasered over my mole which I have had since I was a child. It was a perfect Marilyn Monroe mole. Then they told me to exfoliate it which caused it to bleed. What all of this did was remove almost all of the color from the mole and it completely ruined the great birthmark I had. Every time I look in the mirror I am so upset that with one swipe of their laser they destroyed this awesome feature I was born with. NEVER LET THEM TOUCH ANY PART OF YOU THAT YOU REALLY LIKE!!!!! I have come there for the Laser Hair Removal and The results have been amazing. Everytime i go i am pleased with the results and the professionalism. I will be honest and I won't go into details of my exact procedures but with beauty comes some pain. Yet The pain is short and if u follow the after care directions properly the results will be even better. I would give an extra star if there was less pain! lol i wish the laser hair removal did have less of that but as awkward as it may get with parts of the body getting lazered i feel very comfortable as well and I can't express even more that everytime has made me happier that i have made this decision rather than waxing and shaving. I didn't have a good experience here when I went to get my wax. It was incredibly painful, and my waxer wouldn't give me a break. She bruised me, and blamed my moving around, but it was so painful!! I even swelled up afterward when I went home. Also, they didn't give me any aftercare advice, so I had some ingrown hairs sprout up. I bought a groupon to get laser hair removal on my chin. I had been putting it off for awhile because I was self-conscious about my chin hair, but after my first session I felt totally comfortable. I honestly knew so little about what it would be like and had no idea what to expect. My hair was dark and coarse, and I had quite a bit of it, so it definitely hurt, but not the worst pain ever. My skin would be red, a tiny bit swollen, and a little sore for a few hours after. For my second session it was a different girl than the first session and she used a much bigger head (is that what its called?) on the laser thing and it missed a lot of hair. The next time I went in I told them about it and they were totally nice about it and I never had that issue again. From then on they only used the small one - they would put on the gel and then run the small laser all over my chin - and this seemed to be much more precise than the bigger one, which she put on my face without any gel and it did this weird suction thing. It covered a larger area, but missed alot of hair. The place was clean and very well-maintained. I never, ever had an issue getting an appointment, even if I was changing it last-minute. I'm surprised by the reviews that say they are hard to get in touch with because I never had any issues with that, and if I left a message they called right back. They would always call to remind me about my appointment, which was much appreciated. The girl who usually helped me was young and had long , blond hair. She was so incredibly nice and always called me by my name. I was waiting to tip her on the last session, but it wasn't her that day and I didn't feel comfortable giving the tip to someone else when she had done most of the work. Everyone who works there seemed genuinely great, like they were really happy to make their customers happy. If I ever get laser hair removal again, it will definitely be here. read more

People of color BEWARE! I bought a groupon for 6 sessions of laser hair removal and when I arrived I was brought into a room and told that due to my "dark" complexion they could not accommodate me?! The woman basically said they do not have the appropriate equipment to deal with black skin and told me I could use the groupon for a different service they offer. When I refused and told her that I only wanted laser hair removal, she offered the name of another establishment that does have the equipment but would not accept my Groupon?! I am a brown skinned black woman who ALMOST left there feeling like something was wrong with ME?! These people only cater to white or very light skin and they are not even up front about it. They are scam artists who try to get you in the door knowing they cannot give you what you pay for but hope that they can get you to use the $ for another service they offer. I have always been a huge fan of this place and have referred quite a few friends there. They are a little tough to get a hold of for an appointment sometimes but I always thought it was well worth it. However, I went to make an appointment recently and informed them I had a groupon that I unfortunately let expire. I asked them if they would accept the paid amount (not the promo amount). It is a groupon policy that you can use the paid amount well after the promo expires. They proceeded to tell me that groupons were for new customers only and I shouldn't have bought it. I told the girl I understood and I must not have noticed the fine print. I asked if they could make an exception since I wasn't asking for them to give me anything extra, only what I paid for. Not to mention I have given them a pretty fair amount of business over the past year or so. The girl was very rude and told me to try to get a refund from groupon and they wont accept it. In my experience in customer service, I know that you should never blame the customer. I wanted to give this place my business and just didn't want the $90 that I paid to go to waste.
