Very unprofessional chop and shop they use illegal MMA products. Nails were very sticky during soak off. I don't know how they are still open they are not very sanitary at all. Nails lasted less than 2 weeks. Here are the quick bullet points on the dangers of MMA (methyl methacrylate) in nail products: 1. I visited Spa Fiesta while I had a week off from work and was looking to indulge in some much needed self-care. I shamefully hadn't done a facial in almost a year and my skin was really in poor shape. Over the past couple months between working full time, being in a PhD program and being a mom had my hormones and nerves flipped on its head. When life get's overwhelming I either eat my feelings or eliminate food all together and my skin was evidence of that havoc. After some research I decided to purchase a Groupon for Spa Fiesta since I was already in Harlem. At first look the Groupon price was $44 for 75min facial and chemical peel. A day later it was $59. Either way, I was sold. The reviews were mixed and I was pretty much just going to step out on faith. I made an appt for 5 and was on my way. When I arrived at the location ( 301 E 102nd St) I was told by the manager Cindy that one does not accept the Groupon. I had to go to 1757 Madison near 116th St which luckily was only about 15mins away. Annoyed, I was def not cheerful when I arrived. The location was definitely more spa like than the other location which looked more like a nail salon. This one is huge with a nail salon in its annex. I met a lovely lady Jane who was going to do my facial. The waiting area is quite quaint with appropriate decor. While it was quite noisy there once I checked into the room all that noise went away even though I could hear a kid upstairs in an apt screaming. Jane took her time and explained to me step-by-step every procedure and product. She used my name and often checked in to see if I was ok. She was very informed about her craft and the level of customer service that should be rendered. She did a facial, a chemical peel, extraction, cold compress and then a facial and shoulder massage. She offered me green tea when we were done and recommended a product to exfoliate my skin and reduce acne scaring. At the end of our session, I opted to add on a foot massage which was $50 for an hr and $25 for 20 mins...I opted for the later and in hindsight should have passed. Jane is great with faces, not so much with feet. It was below par. I didn't feel her getting to my problem areas and she seemed disconnected from the process. When it was time to pay they tried to tax the Groupon (See other Groupon Reviews ) and I was all too prepared to shut them down. I graciously paid for the product and foot massaged, generously tipped Jane and left. I will be back on the last Mon in March. P.S I got great compliments on the brightness of my skin already and this is only day 3. I am beginning to peel. Why would I want clumpy eyelashes... anyways I paid upwards of 125 dollars and my lashes were mostly gone three days later. I had the BEST facial from Jody today. I received the offer initially through Groupon. At first I set my appointment for 5:30pm and I was called back for a reschedule at 6:30. That was too late for me so we settled on 6:15. I arrived exactly then but wasn't seen until 6:40. The lobby waiting area is very crisp and comfortable. There's tea available and water with lemon/cucumber; simply a very nice setup. Other than that the facial itself (I received the the chemical peel and the facial) was very thorough. Jody walked me through most of the things she was doing so that was nice also. She took the whole 75 mins and reeeeeallly put work into my facial lol massaging, cleaning, extracting, exfoliating- the works! It also came with a nice shoulder and back massage too which was great! The environment was perfect with nice calming music playing in the room. I'll definitely visit again! Even with the appointment mixup I still give the experience/atmosphere 5 stars. [Ps if you've never had an extraction done on your face then PREPARE! It definitely hurts! I've done them before with my actual dermatologist so it's not just this place - for those who may be new. At first, I was unsure if I wanted to pay the $100 price for a facial but, I was in a desperate need for one. Jane, walked me though each step and took great care of me. Ok so here's the deal. Every couple months me and my bf will go indulge and pick up a couples massage. So I find a groupon- cross reference yelp. And decide we are going here. I called in the morning and scheduled for a 6pm couples massage. So they actually tell me I can buy the groupon there instead of online - big fucking mistake. So here's how it goes. $97** for a 75 min lymphatic massage. Aka let me barely put any pressure on you and oil you up. So we get there. Go into the first massage room and get under the sheets. So it begins. All good until 20 mins in a RUDE ASS EMPLOYEE OPENS THE DOOR AND STARTS HAVING A CONVO WITH THE THERAPISTS. ARE YOU FUCKING KIDDING ME. And it wasn't a 2 min question it was a full blown 15 mins. WTF. So whatever then Mai ling and her coworker start talking. Like seriously? THEN to top it off above the massage room there were kids running around upstairs. Like RUNNING A MARATHON. Anyways they finish. We go out to pay. Tell me why it's 114. Fucking rip off. After I waited an hour for service, I was told what I wanted could not be done to my nails...a simple reshaping into the "ballerina slipper shape"...and I was not given the pedicure they asked me if I wanted oooh only about 6 different times. After paying (for only half the service I wanted) the lady doing my nails (the short older Asian lady who sits in the second seat from the door) asked me to relax my thumb to paint the nail and I replied I couldn't because I was upset...her reply, "You upset, I'M upset"....now tell me why would a person at their job making money be upset at the PAYING CUSTOMER they just denied service and any sort of shred of good customer service to?? I have been here a couple of times with my mom while she gets her nails and eyebrows done, and she always comes out looking amazing. I like the environment- it's very clean, and the staff is super friendly and welcoming. I decided to get a facial and my eyebrows waxed before heading out on a 3 week backpacking trip, and made an appointment for today. Man oh man am I glad I did! I got an amazing Deep Cleansing facial from Jody- I swear I look like a different person and I almost started laughing at my reflection because I was so startled! Everything was really clean and Jody was so kind, friendly and professional, especially when she was extracting all of the gunk out of my face. The facial also includes and brief but relaxing and thorough massage on your face and shoulders. My eyebrows also came out nicely although unfortunately I can't remember the name of the technician who performed the service for me. My bougie sister in law recommended me to the place. I assumed it would be fabulous. It was not. It seems to be split into two seperate business. The "spa" and the nail salon. Both need major updating. The woman who performed my massage was very nice and she did a great job. She didn't speak too much only asking questions about the pressure and if everything was ok. I appreciated that. The environment itself isn't very quiet as you can hear the conversations in the hall and the phone ringing. The table had a heat setting, which I thought was nice. The pedicure chairs are scary. The one I was in didnt adjust (i didnt want the massage, just to lean back a bit), the upholstery is ripping, the bowls have scratches.  The service itself was the quickest pedicure I ever had and as someone that was there to relax, I was done in just about 15 minutes - unacceptable. My manicure is nice but the polish isn't even. It was also very quick and the girl tried to hand me the hot washcloth instead of applying it to my hands. They also don't accept the check in offer on yelp so dont even try. Overall, I think my expectation was too high. No, I won't be back. read more

I really liked the atmosphere here. Nicely decorated and tranquil environment. I got a deep cleanse facial from Jody. The room I was in was very quaint and relaxing. She made sure I was comfortable She did a good job on my facial. My skin looked hydrated and purified after Two things I didn't like were the highly priced moisturizer Inquired about but declined after seeing the cost. The second thing was I waited for a good few minutes before anyone came out to greet me. Other than that I enjoyed my experience and would go back. So I scheduled with "Wendy" and she was nowhere to be found, so someone else did my massage. Constant interruptions by other workers there. Poor massage. Then they had the nerve to demand that I tip, which I usually am very generous for a job well done, but this was horrible. I was also told that if I buy a Groupon, they will add an additional charge to use it instead of paying them the same price directly. What a sham. I WILL NEVER GO BACK TO SPA FIESTA. There are plenty of other massage therapists in NYC, but apparently this place doesn't think they have to compete. BEWARE DO NOT COME HERE. I got a gel manicure and in a matter of one day a nail got ruined! 2 days passed and one hand was completely cleaned of the gel polish ! Thank goodness after an important event 5 days later after getting my gel manicure and having only 2 fingers painted. I come back and show proof when i got them done and if they can fix. They tell me it's only free after 2-3 days to fix and since its gel now they will charge me 15$ to redo !! After telling them no she went down to 10$! Wonderful spa! This place is a breath of fresh air. I had a Living Social deal here for a facial and chemical peel. My appointment was scheduled for 2pm. I ended up having a little extra time earlier in the day. They happily changed my appointment time to accommodate my schedule. I also asked if it was possible to substitute a different service for the chemical peel, and they kindly made a substitution without question. On top of all that, the facial was amazing. The groupon price is the same as the regular price. They basically just use groupon as advertisement. As soon as you call/arrive they suggest that you dont get the groupon. but if youre like me & you shop groupon thru Upromise then get the groupon Anywho, Ive been here a million times & have always had good service. The salon is part of my dressing room & I dont like to be seen "undone". __________ August 2016 update: So like I said before, I've gone here a million times and one thing I notice is that there are never any empty polish bottles in the trash. The bottles never go empty because they keep refilling them with other polish or they keep adding acetone to stretch whats left. Bring your own polish or don't select one of the more popular brands like Essie or Opi. Go with the cheaper polishes because they are more likely to only have the original color in them. Lately I notice ppl complaining about air bubbles and streaks and manicures that dont even last a day even though they select the same bottle off the rack every time. Girl that bottle has been sitting there since the age of aquarius and needs to be put to rest. I saw one of the employees pouring a random white polish into an Essie bottle....and you know we all love our bright white polish in the summer. I still haven't found a perfect nail salon in the area, and it bums me out. I called ahead to see if they were busy, and they said to come right in. When I got there, they told me to pick a color and take a seat. All pedicures are given in spa chairs which is nice, but I stated I only wanted a regular so I don't know if that was why I was relegated to a non-massage spa chair, or if none of the chairs work. When they finished my pedicure, you switch seats to the manicure area in regular chairs at tables that have the UV lights built in. The same person who did your feet does your hands so there aren't any disputes over tips. It's nice for them, but makes it take way longer than I have time for. I was there for over 2 hours for a regular mani pedi! Then comes the service. Since they lied and it was super busy, I was obviously stuck with someone who had no idea what she was doing. If you're going to bother cutting my cuticles, then actually get in there. When I mentioned it to her, she told me she was newer and didn't trust herself. I asked to have a different person work on me at that point since other technicians had finished by then. The new person then made at least one digit on each hand and feet bleed by cutting the cuticle too deep. I would flinch every time she cut too deep and she told me to hold still. When it came to my hands, I had yet another person work on me and she completely butchered my nail shape. I need my nails shorter since I work in a medical setting, and I can't risk popping a glove. I told her short, and rounded square. She went ahead and cut them as short as possible to the point where my nails aren't even or symmetrical. There wasn't anything left to try to file into a rounded square. There was one finger in which she wasn't gripping the clippers right and tried to clip the meat of my thumb rather than the nail. The switched technicians on me yet again because if I'm going to go through the trouble of paying to get my nails done, I get hard to paint colors available only at the salon. The fourth and last person to work on me did the actual color, and was pretty good. It's still a little streaky and I've had other places that did a better job, but her canvas had been messed up by her previous 3 coworkers. The only reason I gave this an extra star was for the other technicians that didn't work on me. All the others at the salon seemed to be regulars. The two male technicians were requested and therefore I had no chance of them working on me. It's also on the cheap side with a regular mani pedi costing $20. I would consider going here again if I could get an appointment with one of the more experienced technicians, but honestly not worth the risk. read more

The facials here are really good and the nail technicians are amazing. They have such great technique and are really affordable. Yeah, ok I am a fan of Tammy Taylor nails. Unfortunately Lee's closed down, and I'm not traveling to Hempstead just to get my nails done. After visiting a couple of nail salons on 89th, and Madison I just decided to stick to my neighborhood. I got white tips with the pink powder, and two flower charms on each ring finger- this cost me 55 bucks plus a tip. The guy who did my nails even put the UV top coat on for free! I docked one star because of the typical rude Mandarin, Chinese, or Japanese shit talk in front of the customer. read more

My experience was average. I like to get a gel manicure considering my nails are very fragile and they tend to break without the gel polish. Arrived here as a walk-in, to which the nails techs kind of bickered to see who would be stuck with me (it was like 6:30pm). Ended up getting my nails done with a guy. I asked for a French gel manicure that looks pretty average, my nails are slightly crooked but nothing noticeable. My only real complaint is one of the nails is already lifting after 1 day. I cut the piece that lifted and hopefully it can last the week, we will see. Another thing is the guy got up in the middle of doing my nails for a smoke break...when he came back he just resumed and I could really smell the cigarettes radiating over me. He gave me a slight massage and also he was playing a video game on his phone the whole time too like with the volume on high, but under the desk. The massage was awesome though so I'm really not sure how to feel about my experience, there were some pros and some cons. The space itself was cozy however there is a lot of dust everywhere from the acrylic and some items seamed unkempt. I'd return if my usual spot isn't available as a backup but not sure if I'd be comfortable coming for any of the spa services or even the gel tbd. read more
