I visited today after reading all the glowing reviews. Yes, the staff is quite helpful and friendly. Yes, the place is very cute. Yes, the parking lot is very convenient. However, I wouldn't call these croissants exactly. When compared to Parisian croissants they are more like deep fried donuts. They are most likely very labor intensive, but unlike croissants have a greasy feel that doesn't taste like butter. Although they are reasonably priced I feel the fillings could be upgraded. A real strawberry would be nice, or a genuine chocolate drizzle. The cinnamon croissant was very nice, if a little greasy. Should you be looking for a donut you'll be pleasantly surprised, but if you're looking for a crunchy light croissant they just don't make the cut. I'm so so so happy they brought another family owned business to Jacksonville! Ya girl has a HUGE sweet tooth, so this is even better. The croissants here are so incredibly good. Like it says on the sign, they are more comparable to donuts than your traditional buttery croissant. They have so many different flavors, which sometimes makes it hard to choose. The only thing I was sad about was the fact that they have no savory flavors. The bakery is also located in a weird place. I've been here a handful of times and have always missed the turn, lol. Saw this place on our way out to lunch and being a fan of any kind of bakery anywhere, we had to stop. Everyone was very friendly and the decor is very cute! They only serve croissants(all kinds ) for their pastries, but they do it so well that you won't mind! They also have coffee, water/drinks, ice cream, and milkshakes. I'm so glad this place is in Jacksonville! Make this your next coffee date stop for sure! The temp was high in the shop, but hopefully this is a temporary problem. Every single one was good, would most definitely order any one of them again. Coffee on the other hand I was not impressed, definitely the 2$ price. I called in advance for an engagement party cake with pink icing that said "She Said Yes." And this is what I got. The whole party was a running joke that my 5-year old cousin made the cake, and quite honestly I think she could do better. It looks like they spent 5 minutes tops on this cake. Stopped in here during the Covid-19 crisis out of sheer necessity. My husband's vehicle was being detailed nearby and I needed somewhere to wait for a ride out of the rain. The coffee is good, for being a modestly brewed cup. It's simple, to the point, and fresh. They brew a much stronger cup than expected for a family owned place, and have a creamer station for the iced and hot. They offer 2 frappes: vanilla and mocha. They also serve ice cream, but I have no idea how it is. For the croissants: they're light, buttery, and flaky. The pastry crust is perfectly made, and a rich golden color that looks beautiful in the box. The fillings are piped into one side, and don't overflow out the other in a mess like some places. The pastry cream in the Bavarian is light and sweet, and the fruit preserves don't have the cloyiing artificial taste of most donut places. The glaze on top is sweet, but not too sugary. Size wise, these are more than fair for the price. About on measure with your average homemade size, they're $1.25 each or $1.50 for specialty toppings like maple bacon. The staff is the nicest. I was out in the drizzle because their seating is closed and they let me come sit inside and got me a chair and everything. Very welcoming staff with a lot of enthusiasm for their product. I can't wait to bring my husband by to try some when we pick up his car. read more
