I arrived at the coffee shop on a busy Saturday morning, it was my first time there, so I decided to try one of their specialty lattes. I went with the North Carolina latte. Although there was a bit of a wait, it wasn't too long. When I first received the coffee, I was surprised by how dark it looked. The coffee was a bit strong and bitter, which was balanced by an overall sweetness. Next time, I'm definitely trying the fruity pebble lavender matcha... yum. (Having just come from Okinawa, Japan, where things tend to be less sweet, my palate might be a bit different.) read more

Was early for my appointment and I knew that I had seen a coffee shop but did not know the name. Well, I found it and walked in to a very sweet smiling face. Meg was pleasant and very helpful. I only got a cup of coffee that was very good. I did look over the menu for lunch. Next visit to this area I will have to stop in for lunch. The place is small but cute. Odd place to get in and out of but the parking lot is large. Just be careful driving in if another car is coming out, there is a large cement rock that I hit. read more

The patio is really cute. Definitely perfect for a nice day. The inside has three booths with three high tops. The staff seemed friendly. There's quite a selection of beverages. Even if you're not looking for coffee, they have chai, matcha and lemonade drinks. I tried the LBC (hibiscus lemonade) which was delicious. The iced chai was also good. Unfortunately the waffle machine was broken so we couldn't order one of those. There were several flavors of muffins but they were kind of dry. The chocolate chip one was pretty sparse on chips. Bathroom was clean and the drive up window is convenient. Parking was plenty. Cute cozy spot. read more

I can't believe I've been missing out on this gem in downtown Jacksonville! If you wanna grab a hot latte with a breakfast sandwich on a cold morning, the Lil Bean Cafe does not disappoint! I've been there twice in the past month the first time grabbing a hot Peppermint Mocha Latte and a Bacon Egg & Cheese croissant, and today snagging a hot Peppermint White Mocha Latte and a Ham Egg & Cheese croissant. Both visits the latte wasn't overly sweet and was steaming hot, the perfect pick me up on a winter morning. But the breakfast croissants were the star of the show, the whole fried eggs were seasoned to perfection and the croissants were soft and buttery. As you can tell I was so busy gobbling down the croissant that I forgot to take a pic until it was almost gone! Definitely give this place a try if you want a real breakfast sandwich! read more

Cute little coffee shop! Friendly people and yummy drinks--i got the iced vanilla chai. The breakfast foods were a bit too salty. I wonder if they use salted butter along with salting their food. I got the avocado toast with egg. A bit less salt would have made it great! One of the baristas looked like the Duke from the tv show Bridgerton. read more

I come here for the Vietnamese iced coffee, no where else do they get it right. Nice limited selection of pastries, so once they are gone they are gone. Sandwiches are all very good, unfortunately by the time I get here their breakfast selection is no longer offered. Place is very small just cozy, the inside fills up quickly so if you have a large party you will have to sit outside. They have a drive through option but I've yet to use it. read more

My husband & I are so obsessed with Lil Bean Cafe! It reminds me a lot of a coffee shop back home in TN that I used to manage prior to moving to NC. We visited Lil Bean one time shortly after they opened & have been hooked ever since! It's been so cool to watch them renovate the place, open their second location, & grow their business. Limited on space. BUT it's worth it. I love all of their options when it comes to sugar free syrups. I love getting to bring some of my interns here, sit in a booth and chat. The coffee is just as sooth from the first to the last sip. The staff is young but that doesn't stop them from getting the job done. We had a variety of options and the croissants were fresh, nice sized sausage patties, large waffle and small dish of potatoes on the side is what we had today. I had plain coffee and refills were free. I should have waited for the carrot cake muffin. Anyway, we were all satisfied with our choices. We've been coming here since before the remodel of the restaurant and since then, it's honestly just gotten better. They updated their menu and they now have these Mexican burritos that are amazing! We always call ahead because they make the food on the spot, it's not premade, so if you just show up and order you're going to be waiting for a long time. Today I ordered the chocolate chai latte and it was so rich and good I finished the entire thing and I have a bad habit of not finishing my coffee in the mornings. They're always really nice to us when we pull up and if they've run out of anything on the menu, they're very apologetic.
