    The best waffles in Jacksonville!!
    Victoria R.

My favorite coffee in Jacksonville! The cutest shop, the sweetest baristas, and great coffee (even if you're a snob). Their waffles are absolutely to die for and it's such a sweet place to hang out and grab a coffee with a friend. Cannot recommend enough!

The waffle was big and it had great flavor!!

What a cool place!! A welcome spot in our town from the everyday Starbucks and Dunkin!! I will celebrate and support local any chance I get. It's been here awhile and I go past it often and wanted to go with friend but never happened. Today I had early errands and figured I'd take the time to pop in and see what it's about! I love it! I grabbed a hot latte and a waffle and it filled me up! The staff was very nice and helpful. I admit I'm not a connoisseur so I needed a little help with what they have! I got hot latte with caramel and whip cream with regular milk! It was perfect! And the waffle was big and soft had great flavor! What I really loved is it's small and quaint but so comfortable.. in nice weather they have nice outdoor seating out back.. very cool place and I'm so happy I came by! Prices are reasonable too.. I'll definitely be back!!

While vacationing in North Carolina, I was pleasantly surprised to find such a welcoming coffee roaster who makes a delicious cortado. The barista was friendly and knowledgeable. The shop was clean and orderly. The barista gave me the impression that the shop is committed to their community and that it is an important part of their mission. Local artists' merchandise are sold in the shop. The only thing I would add is for the shop to offer an option to have your coffee in a glass or mug. Cortados always taste better that way. 76th coffee shop of 2023 206th since 2022

I've wanted to try Milk Road for such a long time (really since it first opened), but I'm hardly ever on this side of town. I finally decided to drive over and have gone twice in the past 2 weeks. My first visit was great. The barrista was very friendly and brought my drink out to the patio where I had settled in for my visit. I tried the iced masala chai and I think it's the best chai latte I've had here locally. The ambiance on the patio (not the little bungalow area) leaves a lot to be desired, but it is winter so maybe that'll improve in the spring. We've had a few warm days recently so I figured I would enjoy the outdoors while I could! My second visit was three days ago. I went in fairly early and stayed for most of the day. This time I ordered a hot masala chai. It wasn't as good as the iced, but still a good drink. I also ordered the quiche. I figured since no one else was there, the barrista would have brought my order out to the patio, but instead she just poked her head out and said it was ready. I was quite surprised at how small the quiche was for the price of $5.50. It did have a good flavor overall, but had burnt edges that were chewy. It was very small and was not filling at all. The masala chai is worth the trip, but I think food items may or may not be the way to go. Also, I would recommend to have better or more seating options inside for days the weather isn't great. If it hadn't been warm, I would have gone elsewhere since I had work to do on my laptop and needed a place to comfortably accomodate that.

A very cute and cozy coffee shop on the outskirts of Jacksonville. It really breaks the mold of coffee shops in the area. It's simple and laid back. The barista was very helpful with helping us pick a snack for a toddler. We settled on the waffle, which was very tasty.

The summer menu's iced strawberry shortcake with waffle croutons on top.

But have you been? I don't get to come often since I'm on the other side of town. But really EVERYTIME I go I'm grabbing a waffle. . . The waffles alone are worth it. I have gotten a birthday coffee the last three years. Seriously. Staff is great. . I have come to TMR since they originally opened and have seen this little coffee shop evolve into what it is today. And I'm living for it. I like to meet with my team and meet and we just get lost in the atmosphere. (We stay inside though mostly because it's humid!) BUT, a fun visit in the sheds ARE A MUST. They are so cute. And the vendor market nights are so fun. . Jacksonville needs a place like this to stay for ever and ever. Support your small coffee shops!

    Liege waffle.

Hands down best local coffee shop. Sometimes features live music. Pros: Delicious liege waffles- sweet, warm, doughy inside perfectly browned and crisp outside. Fantastic rotating seasonal coffee flavors. Extensive outdoor seating. Cons: Vegetable quiche portion tiny (but packed with flavor), very little parking available. Minimal indoor seating.

Latte, hot cocoa, and some natural gourmet doggy snacks!

Ugh. So good. The hot chocolate alone is worth a trip from anywhere. Lattes, outdoor seating, dog friendly. Delicious snacks. Even for the dog! New favorite place to frequent.

The coffee was great! The ambiance was amazing! We walked in at the end of a rush, so we waited a bit for our drinks, but it was worth it.

They support the community, putting their resources back into those in need. The coffee was fresh, fun seasonal flavors, and the staff was incredibly friendly. Immediately upon entering Harriet and Colin greeted us with big smiles. They answered our questions and took the time to talk with us while making our coffees. They were so darn friendly it was refreshing. The location is cute with a fun brick exterior and open concept interior with seats and space to connect or work.

They have an outdoor patio in the back which has lighting for the evening. There are two entrances one is on 16th and one is in the parking lot. Upon entering the facility, there was a smell of water residue, which kind of turned me off at first I won't lie. Walking in you can see they have a huge grinder with sacks of coffee beans, there essentially grinding their own coffee beans to then roast and create drinks. I found that to be a huge plus. You don't see that often. There are hallways with seating as well as a communal space that is shared with a new juice beverage bar, which opened up next door. I think the coffee Roastery may actually be new as well. Other than the scent inside, I felt like it was big spacious and clean. Seems to be a little hidden gem in an area with an expected to be! There are bathrooms within the hallways, not near the eating areas which is always a plus. They're also seems to be a meeting room that they're building which would be really cool if you are a work from home person and looking for a quiet place to have a conference call or maybe get the team out of the office to cook grab a cup of coffee and a snack. It has a slide or tour for privacy. Other than that, the staff wasn't really friendly unfortunately. They were talking amongst themselves. Generally quiet little music playing overhead. People that were customers were nice but they seem to mostly be working independently. So it wasn't too loud maybe a nice place to plug-in to email, etc. during the workday. I ordered an iced vanilla latte. Coffee taste good. Overall, I didn't eat any of the food, but it was general bakery items like bagels and muffins. I'm not sure who they were provisioned with. I'll try it again in the future just to see if the experience is a little better but like I said, I think between the staff not really communicating or socializing with consumer and the scent that was throughout the facility. I think those were the two things that kind of turned me off a little bit. I'll be back though and give it a second try.

The baristas were very welcoming and knowledgeable, providing a sample of the coffee (we were given a coffee from Burundi) , providing some information on their harvesting and roasting practices, and opening up the floor to an audience Q&A. Ambiance is very modern and chic and there are two bathrooms open to visitors in the facility. I would recommend going on time to the tasting if possible for the best seating/experience. I came 15 min late and the seats were all taken and it was a full house. There were no issues with finding parking; there is a gravel lot adjacent to the roastery. Overall, a very unique experience!
