Super cute little spot after driving up and down gum branch for over a year I decided to stop on my way to class today! The waffle oh my is so delish!! I could order these and dip them in some kind of fruit preserve or something! Cute little plants all over the place. I also had an almond milk hot chocolate! Delish as well!!! Might be my new go to place! I'll try some of the other pastries and give a review!! But the coffee imma have to leave to yall!!

Just got a strawberry shortcake latte there and a carrot cake muffin. Had those last time and they were great. This time it looked like a newer barista and the coffee didn't taste as good which was a little disappointing. Limited inside seating (one couch and two seats at a coffee table) and a few barstools. If your brave enough to stand the heat and bugs there's some patio tables outside.

    The best waffles in Jacksonville!!

My favorite coffee in Jacksonville! The cutest shop, the sweetest baristas, and great coffee (even if you're a snob). Their waffles are absolutely to die for and it's such a sweet place to hang out and grab a coffee with a friend. Cannot recommend enough!

The waffle was big and it had great flavor!!

What a cool place!! A welcome spot in our town from the everyday Starbucks and Dunkin!! I will celebrate and support local any chance I get. It's been here awhile and I go past it often and wanted to go with friend but never happened. Today I had early errands and figured I'd take the time to pop in and see what it's about! I love it! I grabbed a hot latte and a waffle and it filled me up! The staff was very nice and helpful. I admit I'm not a connoisseur so I needed a little help with what they have! I got hot latte with caramel and whip cream with regular milk! It was perfect! And the waffle was big and soft had great flavor! What I really loved is it's small and quaint but so comfortable.. in nice weather they have nice outdoor seating out back.. very cool place and I'm so happy I came by! Prices are reasonable too.. I'll definitely be back!!

While vacationing in North Carolina, I was pleasantly surprised to find such a welcoming coffee roaster who makes a delicious cortado. The barista was friendly and knowledgeable. The shop was clean and orderly. The barista gave me the impression that the shop is committed to their community and that it is an important part of their mission. Local artists' merchandise are sold in the shop. The only thing I would add is for the shop to offer an option to have your coffee in a glass or mug. Cortados always taste better that way. 76th coffee shop of 2023 206th since 2022

I've wanted to try Milk Road for such a long time (really since it first opened), but I'm hardly ever on this side of town. I finally decided to drive over and have gone twice in the past 2 weeks. My first visit was great. The barrista was very friendly and brought my drink out to the patio where I had settled in for my visit. I tried the iced masala chai and I think it's the best chai latte I've had here locally. The ambiance on the patio (not the little bungalow area) leaves a lot to be desired, but it is winter so maybe that'll improve in the spring. We've had a few warm days recently so I figured I would enjoy the outdoors while I could! My second visit was three days ago. I went in fairly early and stayed for most of the day. This time I ordered a hot masala chai. It wasn't as good as the iced, but still a good drink. I also ordered the quiche. I figured since no one else was there, the barrista would have brought my order out to the patio, but instead she just poked her head out and said it was ready. I was quite surprised at how small the quiche was for the price of $5.50. It did have a good flavor overall, but had burnt edges that were chewy. It was very small and was not filling at all. The masala chai is worth the trip, but I think food items may or may not be the way to go. Also, I would recommend to have better or more seating options inside for days the weather isn't great. If it hadn't been warm, I would have gone elsewhere since I had work to do on my laptop and needed a place to comfortably accomodate that.

A very cute and cozy coffee shop on the outskirts of Jacksonville. It really breaks the mold of coffee shops in the area. It's simple and laid back. The barista was very helpful with helping us pick a snack for a toddler. We settled on the waffle, which was very tasty.

But have you been? I don't get to come often since I'm on the other side of town. But really EVERYTIME I go I'm grabbing a waffle. . . The waffles alone are worth it. I have gotten a birthday coffee the last three years. Seriously. Staff is great. . I have come to TMR since they originally opened and have seen this little coffee shop evolve into what it is today. And I'm living for it. I like to meet with my team and meet and we just get lost in the atmosphere. (We stay inside though mostly because it's humid!) BUT, a fun visit in the sheds ARE A MUST. They are so cute. And the vendor market nights are so fun. . Jacksonville needs a place like this to stay for ever and ever. Support your small coffee shops!

    Liege waffle.

Hands down best local coffee shop. Sometimes features live music. Pros: Delicious liege waffles- sweet, warm, doughy inside perfectly browned and crisp outside. Fantastic rotating seasonal coffee flavors. Extensive outdoor seating. Cons: Vegetable quiche portion tiny (but packed with flavor), very little parking available. Minimal indoor seating.

Latte, hot cocoa, and some natural gourmet doggy snacks!

Love to have more local spots versus the franchise trends in the area. Service 5/5 Really attentive service even with Saturday morning crowds weekend before Christmas. Booked reservations via Open Table because this place gets really busy. Food 5/5 We got classics fried chicken with waffles and French toast. Fried chicken was flavorful batter and they do provide sides of ranch and hot sauce by request. But pretty pricey for the amount of food considering the Onslow County area. Inflation is real. Also have a seasonal cocktail menu, we got the caramel mimosas which were pretty small again considering price. Definitely nice brunch spot in Jacksonville coming up considering growing up here and this use to be a Scholtsky's Deli. I forgot I was in Jacksonville. Hope to try more items on future when I'm back in town.

The crab fries were bomb- even the Cajun sauce on top was delicious. Just enough- not too much cuz I hate over sauced and soggy food. The brownie was really good- not too sweet and topped with raspberry and caramel sauce. Had to ask for more sauce because there was hardly any on it . Plus it was a little over done and couldn't eat the sides because they were way too hard- but it was huge and I didn't feel cheated at all! Definitely going again and again!

I asked our very helpful and sweet server Jersey if she had only 2 choices with one being chicken fried chicken or the daily special Taco Salad, which would she go with and she said the taco salad. So, that's what I ordered. It was very tasty, loaded with 2 types of cheese a side of Jalapeño (which I gave to hubby) alot of fresh tomatoes and lettuce, a side of salsa and sour cream served in a somewhat crispy tortilla shell. And the shell is the only reason for a 4 star vs 5, the shell wasn't as light and crispy as I like it. It tasted as if they fried it several hours ago and honestly, I get why they did it that way as it saves time but the shell just left me disappointed. Hubby ordered a patty melt with fries. We came into town to scope out the Jacksonville Landing for future bass fishing mornings and when I told him we were stopping in here for lunch he already knew he was having the melt. I mean, he thought about it for 90 minutes lol. I've had their melts before and it is yummy. I think though the fries were the star on his plate. They were crispy on the outside and pillowy on the inside and topped with something akin to Old Bay Seasoning. And they were HOT! Y'all, i mean, they're only fries but rhey were PERFECT! I am seriously alreasy looking forward to our 1st fishing adventure just so we can have lunch at the Kettle once we've caught all the bass. Jersey was quite attentive, but not hovering and warm friendly like only you'll find in the south. Oh, bestie told me to get the chocolate torte because she said, literally, "it's life altering." However, I forgot to so, just another thing for me to enjoy after our initial fishing trip. In some ways, you can go home again.

I also saw the cashier quickly move his foot over them. Before I could react, he picked up the cookbook I'd been looking at and handed it to me. "No, thank you," I said. "Oh no," he replied. "I insist. My treat." Really? I was stunned and started to respond when our son quietly interrupted. "Mom, it's okay." I tried to protest. Again: "Mom. It's okay." Outside, I asked, "Do you realize Dad dropped money?" Then I looked at my husband. "Honey?" "Yes," they said. "We saw it too." Marines are trained to assess a situation and respond, and that's exactly what they did. A cashier without integrity, someone willing to risk his employment over a couple hundred dollars is a sad and desperate person. As for that cookbook? I've never used it. It sits in my kitchen among all the others, as a reminder of what two Marines taught me that morning. And to that cashier, should you ever read this: Your sleight of hand--or foot, in this case--didn't go unnoticed. You weren't quicker. You're not smarter. You didn't fool anyone. I kept thinking it was an anomaly but after the 3rd visit, that was it for me. After our move to NC I figured that I would give them another shot. And while some of the food was good, the service was not. 2 servers came to take our drink order and then the server who returned to take our breakfast order was at the wrong table, so we had to wait for them to figure out who was to ne taking care of us. I need to start out by saying they were not busy as we were there on a Monday at 1030, so between 2 meal times. I reqiested that the server put us in a quiet spot, away from others as I had a migraine. Initially she did but then 10 minutes after our being seated, she sits a family with children, toddlers, behind me. Directly behind me. The restaurant was not the least bit busy that the same hostess I asked to sit us away from everyone else wouldn't have remembered my request to he away from others. I ordered the baked French toast with strawberries, sausage patties and a side of hashbrown casserole. My breakfast arrived with bacon, which I gave to my husband. The casserole was lukewarm & when our server returned with my sausage patties, Initially I thought they looked good but I was in for a let down because they were barely warm and burnt on the bottom (both patties were so burnt that my fork couldn't even go through the patty to separate and eat). At that point, I just gave up on the sausage. I will say the French toast was good but not good enough to forgive the other misses. So, it would seem CB goes back on the list of places to avoid.

Was going to order, but I haven't been to a cracker barrel in over 10 years so my fiance and I decided to make it a late breakfast/brunch date. Went in and asked for the Monday special shrimp and grits and everyone looked at me sideways. It wasn't even listed on both menus as an option at all. I don't recall every liking their food growing up, so I kindly just told the server that was unfortunate because that was what I was looking forward to (thinking they obviously had it, since you can order it on DD). She told me to hold on, went to kitchen, came back after 5 min and said "we have one left". I have worked in the service industry my whole life so we all know what that means. They made me a shrimp and grit anyways even though it was nothing like advertised on DD. But that was still nice of them anyways so 3 stars for that because of customer service! In the end, I wished I would have just cooked it at home instead of being lazy haha. End of story, don't go to a restaurant ever expecting to be able to order something they are advertising to purchase on door dash. I learned my lesson and will call anywhere beforehand after seeing a special meal item on DD.
