The "manager" on saturday September 6th was so beyond rude. I ordered a thick shake and she gave me soup. So i asked for it to be thicker, along with another shake that was also soup. Even without ordering "thick" you should get a shake, not water. Im so dissatisfied and disappointed. After retrieving both shakes back, still not up to par she told me to say i wanted to ask for a thick shake next time...which i DID in fact order a thick shake. She told me i didnt order it thick, and we went back and forth after saying she doesn't care. Asked for her name, said it was something along the lines of "anna" something. But to point she was the big girl with black hair...or should i say thick but she might not think so. Will be calling the store owner tomorrow and everyday till i get them. Wow. Dariland, from the second I pulled into this parking lot I felt a sensation as if I had been transported 73 years back in time. I simply love the vibes here. Upon entering I did feel slightly rushed by the women behind the counter as there were so many fun flavors I wasn't sure to choose. Eventually I went with the Oatmeal Cookie Craving. Hate to love this favorite ice cream place. No gloves when. Making cones. Multiple people touching the same handles. Love love love this place for soft serve ice cream with sprinkles. Super sweet ice cream cone tech agreed to wipe handles and put on gloves. Covid safety hostile owner came out completely edgy and miffed. Heard me telling the nice girl that another local place all use gloves. Owner super fake nicely told me I could go to the other place. Super defensive and unwelcoming owner. I would have if I liked the other soft serve place better. And if the tech wasn't so accommodating. Would return for the ice cream and hope to live. read more

I used to really enjoy going to Dari Land for ice cream but the past few times I've been very disappointed. The flavors are lacking. Lately when I've gone they don't always fill the size cup with the appropriate amount of ice cream. Today I somehow spent $17 for a kids soft serve cup, a small soft serve cup and a medium 2 scoop cup. The small cup had the same amount of ice cream as the kids cup. read more

I decided to try a new flavor over my usual chocolate peanut butter combination called mystical mermaid. The price of chocolate syrup must have gone up in these inflationary times. I always order the same vanilla soft serve sundae with chocolate syrup from Dariland and the last two times I've noticed there was so little chocolate syrup that it couldn't be called a sundae. One time might be a server mistake but twice is probably policy. That, along with the almost 4% upcharge for using a credit card, is pretty greedy. The Mattituck ice cream store is more of a drive but at least you'll get what you order. read more

Public service announcement. If you are ordering quarts of ices, you should call 24 -48 hours before. There was only one other customer in the store when I entered the store. There was another person helping the first customer. I was helped by a wonderful young lady who was more than helpful. The chocolate ices were a little hard and the owner came out and tried to help and said that I should call before as she was" short staffed, and she did not have time for this". When the order was completed, I said that I was the only other customer in the store and that is when she informed me that I should call 24-48 hours before. FOR ICES REALLY. This person needs a reality check as to how to treat a customer. The problem has been solved as Ralphs Italian ices is 3 minutes away and they welcome the business. She then said that Ralphs is not as busy as we are. I guess that is another plus. We have purchased many items in the past ice cream birthday cakes etc. That will not be a problem form now on as this is the last time, I will darken their doorstep. This was a first for us. I visited Dari-Land today with my husband (a combat wounded veteran) and his service dog. When we walked in, a young lady walked to the back and told someone, "there's a dog in here". We were not surprised, we've been asked before if "Blue" is a service dog and once we tell them yes, it's not an issue. Blue wears a service vest and has his tag and credentials on him. Service dogs are protected under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and can go to any public venue with a few minor exceptions (which we are well aware of). An older lady came out from the back and said we could be helped outside but the dog can't be inside. My husband explained that he was a service dog, but she said it didn't matter, people may have allergies (by the way, Blue is a hypoallergenic breed). My husband told her again, he's a service dog and is protected by federal law and can be in the store, but she said he still needs to go outside and we could be helped outside. My husband responded, 'he's protected under the law and you can call the police if you want'. She threw her hands in the air and yelled, 'it's just ice cream'. As if we were making a big deal of things. I understand that many people don't know the rules for a service dog, but this was the first time that a manager did not know the rules. He's been asked to show credentials before, which he always shows if asked. I suggest the owner inform her employees of the ADA regulations and anyone that is protected under the ADA should visit Snowflake or Magic Foundation just to avoid the harassment. read more

Very good old fashioned ice cream parlor on the Riverhead/ Aquebogue boarder. They have a lot of flavors to choose from including sorbets and even soft serve. It's a nice place to stop on your way home from the north fork. Plus, it's cheaper than Carvel. read more

Awesome place! There's so much to look at as soon as you walk in! My parents have been raving about this little ice cream place for so long, and I can't blame them! When my mom (who usually doesn't like sweets,) comes home smiling with a chocolate milkshake in her hand, I know exactly where she's been. I have to admit, they make some of the most excellent milkshakes I've ever had. Pretty much directly across the street is the amazing All-Star bowling alley, and after a fun game I always like to top the gun off with a treat from Dar-I-Land! Like their sign says, it's never to cold for ice cream! I really can't wait until it's really warm out, and shall be refreshing after not only bowling, but after the aquarium, Indian Island, or just to be doing it! Was not pleased. The customer service was poor. The workers were not the brightest, as their minds were scattered in the situation of a crowd as well as they had poor attitudes. I ordered a small soft serve twist with crunches and it was next to terrible. Ife cream is always flavorful and fresh, but they clearly have raised pricing and made their sizes smaller which is extremely disappointing. To get two smalls which were essential kids sizes for $7+ seems very high compared to their old pricing and sizes.
