Coming from out of state I was worried about visiting Dark Hall despite wanting to try it forever (due to so many bad Yelp reviews) but decided to give it a chance anyway. The two baristas were actually very nice, friendly, and helpful. The vanilla oatmilk latte I got was very good. My only complaint is that it could have been a little hotter but I still very much enjoyed it. Their cinnamon rolls were amazing and so soft and fresh. I also loved the dark goth-y ambiance. Right up my alley. Would definitely come back if not just for the pastries alone. read more

This coffee place is A-mazing. I spend weekends trying new coffee places and this has been one of the best. They are all vegan, but the flavor and moist-ness of their bakery items is beyond compare. The orange soda coffee was interesting to try. Their mocha flavor is perfect. It has a beautiful well balanced espresso taste with a very smooth finish and is not too sweet. It is plenty strong enough as the two shots included are long pulled?( not correct verbiage I'm sure) the cake, banana bread, pear coffee cake and pastry I can't pronounce starting with a g I think... are TO DIE FOR. I can't wait to buy some of their merchandise. 1000% recommend. read more

You guyyyyys! They are finally open! Dark Hall Coffee is the newest venture by the folks who've been serving up really great vegan food over at The Coronado for the last few years. On my first visit, I had a Lavender Rose iced tea, and a dark chocolate chip and sea salt cookie. The barista didn't pour my tea from a tub under the counter, but made it fresh on the spot. I meant to take a bite of the cookie and then save the rest for my kiddos, but it was so delicious that I ate the whole thing while waiting for my tea. As a non-vegan, I was surprised at how damn good that cookie was. Oh, and my iced tea was really lovely, too. On my second visit, I had an iced latte with their Blend No. 3 nut milk, which is a mix of hazelnut, cashew and Brazil nuts, made in house. (They also offer oat milk and cashew milk.) I believe their beans are roasted in house by local coffee roaster, Xanadu Coffee. On both visits, the service was great. I chatted with the gal making my drinks, and she was happy to answer all my questions, and was kind enough to look interested when I shared the fun fact that the selenium Brazil nuts helps to ward off colon cancer. XD I also chatted with some of the bakers who came up front for a bit. (If nothing else, you should stop in just to smell the amazing smells the bakers are making in there!) I love the decor. One wall is black, and adorned with huge pink peonies. Hung on the other, white wall are some pretty cool Reaper images. Dark Hall has tons of great natural light and plenty of seating inside and out front. On both visits, I saw people hanging out on laptops as well as people spending time chatting with a friends. Although the parking lot is in need of a good repaving, there's plenty of parking. I'm so happy to see such a cool place set up shop in this location. Pop in and shop local! read more

This coffee shop is amazing. The coffee is delicious, pastries are tasty and the interior has a cool vibe to it. On top of all that, the baristas have all been so helpful and nice. When I found out the same people with The Coronado are behind this, I knew I would love it. The first time my husband and I went in there, I tried the Cortado and my husband asked for an iced Cortado. He didn't realize ordering that drink iced wasn't an option on the menu, but the barista offered to make an iced version instead of telling my husband that wasn't a menu option. I thought it was very kind of her to be so helpful. Also, we tried the dark chocolate, sea salt cookies and fell in love. They are so good and we get one every time we stop by. My friend ordered an iced chai tea with oat milk and it was flavorful and delicious! We ended up trading haha but we both loved their chocolate chip cookies, I highly recommend those! This place was awesome! We came out for their Phoenix Black Market event which benefitted rescue dogs. While we are there, I tried a cold brew with lavender flavoring and cashew milk. It was really tasty. I also tried the earl grey macaron and the chocolate banana Bundt cake. The Bundt cake was awesome! I highly recommend trying it. I really needed some coffee and decided to check out Dark Hall. It's smaller than I expected so not a place to come hang out with a group or anything. Staff was friendly and helpful in their explanations of what their specialties were. I opted for a cookie which was ridiculously insane btw, A MUST is their baked goods!!! Oh yeah, the coffee.....cold brew was cool, not a fave of mine (I'm super picky though) and my partner got a cappuccino , she said it was just ok. Overall I will go back though because I love coffee shops and it's important to give them a couple of tries and taste different things. I love that they know their stuff and that matters alot. It's been awhile since I've been back because I live far but wow did I enjoy my time yesterday! For COVID, they are limiting people inside the shop, 2 customers at a time and no dining inside or out. Once I got in, the barista that made my drink was just amazing. So sweet, down to earth and creative. I usually don't talk to baristas because I know how hard they work and need space but she was just amazing and we talked for a little afterwards too! Ended up getting the lavender rose tea and it was amazing! Really hit the spot on a day that was 116° lol! She even gave me a free blueberry scone since they closed in an hour and business was slowing down. WOW! It. Was. Amazing! So fresh still, very soft. Had a nice crumble ontop and the blueberries were amazing. Everything here is vegan too which is why I knew I had to come back! The art inside is just breathtaking as well. So dark and beautiful! I heard that they had decaf cold brew (which is very hard to find), so I made a trip up to give it a try. I liked the atmosphere but the coffee was just...not good. It had a very "green" taste to it, like it was maybe a light roast? Just not what I'm looking for in an iced coffee. I couldn't even redeem it by dumping in raw sugar. It's a tad on the small side but that keeps the shop calm and quiet. I've been a handful of times and the last two visits I've had someone get snippy with me. Great place to pop in and get coffee. In my opinion, it is not what I am looking for in a place to grab coffee and stay to indulge in the environment, or to work. This does not take away from the coffee, as the vanilla latte I had was delicious. This also does take away anything from the environment itself - just not what I am looking for in terms of coffee culture. Note: they do not have any dairy products to add to coffee. Only-non dairy products. So for example, a latte cannot be made with milk. I was a bit disappointed that the coffee shop didn't have any milk products. I am not a great fan of lattes with almond or soy milk. I have tried, but it is just not my cup of tea. They just don't taste the same. I had a latte with oatmeal milk, and it just wasn't for me. Nonetheless, I am sure if you are vegan or can't consume dairy, I think this would be a great place to check out! I did have a slice of vanilla cake and I enjoyed that. Their other pastries did look quite appetizing. If you are into traditional coffee with milk products, I would recommend a different coffee shop. read more

They have plant based pastries and every drink is dairy free. They make these super delicious in house nut milks one being a cashew milk and another a seasonal blend they also have oat milk sooo you know how I feel about that They make some crazy specialty drinks that are available seasonally for example on Valentine's Day they had a love concoction that consisted of beet shrub+ orange juice+ cashew milk WILD!
