Deep fried pickle burger with a steel rail pale ale. Best burger I've had in a very long time. Huge, juicy and crunchy!

I'm a sucker for a good burger and this place has exactly that and then some. I came on burger and beer for $10 night (Wednesday) and started off with a steel rail pale ale which was wicked good. By the time I finished it the appetizer of wings came out. I believe it was some kind of Jamaican jerk/carribean rub. They were pretty good. Just as my girlfriend and I were finishing up our wings the burgers came out and I instantly regretted ordering an appetizer because the burgers were HUGE! I ordered the deep fried pickle burger which I could not bite into fully because of the height. (A good problem) It has ketchup and mustard then a pile of crunchy fried pickles topped with spicy ranch then the burger and cheese. Oh, and lots of bacon...about 4-5 pieces! Veggies we won't count because those are blah whatever. Haha The waitress was awesome. She never forgot any one of my 5 million requests and always checked in with us to let us know the status of our food. Very appreciative of that especially since it was so busy. Overall the atmosphere was great. Dark with good vibes and the live band was awesome. Love that they do covers. Definitely recommend this place to any burger and beer lovers and of course anyone else because there other plates looked good as well!

Dark Horse Tavern is a great place to be for an "on the upper-scale" end of a casual dining and drinking experience. We had a great meal with the owners of the three-floor 12 Crane complex, which also features a fine dining restaurant upstairs, a state-of-the-art concert hall, and gorgeous apartments. Dear Husband and I love the design and decor of the whole place. The Dark Horse atmosphere is cozy, and you definitely feel like you're in a pub in Ireland. The food and beer are great, too. We had a tasting of all of the beers, from the lightest to the richest in flavor: Blueberry Ale, SOB (Southbridge Ordinary Bitter), Honest Town Pale Ale, Hefe Weizen, Padraig's Irish Red, and the Coffee Stout. I found myself sipping the SOB more than the others, but I'll say that there was something about the Coffee Stout that got me, and I'm not a stout drinker. For appetizers, we all split bruschetta, LARGE potato skins, and Celtic Nachos. All great, but the potato skins were my favorite. My dinner entree was the lamb shank with mashed potatoes and carrots. Can I just "SO GOOD?" The meat just fell off the bone. It was so darn tasty. I highly recommend it. Dear Husband ordered and enjoyed the baked haddock with creamy leek sauce and rice. The other couple chose fish 'n' chips and corned beef and cabbage, which we'll have to try next time we're there. For years, Southbridge had a reputation of being home to dive bars, while Sturbridge could boast all the fine dining establishments. Well, Sturbridge can still hold onto that, but Southbridge's dining and entertainment scene is on an upswing, especially with the addition of the 12 Crane complex, which is a model of sustainable design and technology. I highly recommend this place and the Dark Horse Tavern; it's not just a place for the 20-somethings. It's a great place for adults of all ages.

Love this place food was great and music too! Burgers are oversized and they have great beers on tap to go with it ! Quaint and dark exactly what you would expect in an old New England bar and grill! The bar tender/ hostess/ waiter was awesome thank you Tony for a great meal and laughs! I will definitely visit again if I ever get sent to another conference in the middle of MA!!

Fish and Chips were awesome. On Wednesday night they had a beer and burger deal for $10 that everyone else in my group got, and they loved it. I considered getting a bowl of chowder, but none of the locals said they had ever tried it, so I passed. Closes early at 11pm.

The staff was just as great as the food!! My son and I we're very happy campers. I had the Rubin with a nice Alagash beer from Maine. He got the nachos. He's a very picky eater but they put a huge smile on his face. We are looking forward to going back to our new hang.

With a stellar selection of brews on tap, sorry no bud light on tap here folks, great food, & amazing atmosphere I started becoming a regular at this establishment. Southbridge gets a bad wrap, but this place shows what this town can offer as far as good food, service, and ambiance. I highly recommend this place! They also offer live music Thurs, Fri, & Sat. With the music venue, The Cannery, right next door in the same building, offering live bands Fri & Sat how can you go wrong? You can't!

Really deserves a negative star rating. The pickles are delicious. They must be from the cannery next-door LOL. Food is disappointing .

Good sweets and coffee for the area…read more I've been to this stretch of the woods a lot back in the day. But never really stopped in because it was Covid times. Now I was back in the area and decided to come in and try. The place was a lot more like a bar and restaurant than expected. Lots of seats and a hostess station up front. We went straight back to the bakery counter to order up some sweets and drinks. I got a snickers latte, and a peanut butter bar. Missus got a carrot cake pop, a coconut and chocolate danish, a custom green tea. Drinks came out quick, and we got our sips and bites in. The carrot cake pop was tasty. Very much a carrot cake in flavor and consistency. Warm spices, cream cheese chocolate coating, it was the best bite. The peanut butter bar, too sweet. I prefer to taste the peanut butter rather than the sugar. The same was true of the coconut danish. Too sugary for the dessert, but a good amount of coconut filling. The drinks were also pretty sweet as well. The coffee got masked by the sugar and the caramel overpowered. Wasn't bad, just very sweet focused. Pricing was high, but that area of the state is always a little pricier. It's a decent sweets shack, but I prefer a little balance for the price paid.

Sawdust coffee and dessert bar was such a cute spot. It was a spacious and comfy atmosphere. It…read moredoubles as a bar which is really cool. The Tiramisu coffee was 10/10 as well as their gluten free chocolate chip cookie. It was nice that they had such a selection for gluten free. The girls that helped us were really sweet. Will definitely be back!
