Its too loud number 1. The bar combined with really loud music is over the top annoying. The food tasted good ( fish and chips) but then I bit into a large bone.....ugh... The server was not good. She seemed annoyed to be working and would rather hang out with other employees and talk. Honestly, its cheap but I have no desire to go back. I have mixed feelings about my first visit to Quinn's. It is clearly a local favorite. The lot is generally packed when I drive by . The inside is dominated by a large central oval bar with tables around the outside perimeter. This is clearly a place to drink. A place I might have migrated to in my 20's. The day I visited they offered fish specials and the place smelled like a fish market. Now I like both cooked fish and sushi, but the smell was a bit too much. I arrived around 11:30 and had the shepard''a pie. It was good, but not particularly memorable. Not sure if I will return, but should I probably give it another chance. We had a great experience at Quinn's Blue Plate overall. The food was absolutely delicious -- the whipped feta dip special was a standout, super flavorful and fresh. I ordered the prime rib, which was cooked just right and tasted amazing. The horseradish on the side was a nice classic touch that really brought it together. My sister got the lobster roll, and it was huge -- she said it was excellent. The only downside came with the sides. I was told my prime rib came with green beans, which I love, but when the dish arrived, it came with carrots instead (not a favorite). When I brought it up, our server offered me broccoli as a replacement, which I appreciated -- but then we were surprised to see an $2 upcharge for it on the bill. When I politely questioned it, the waitress just brushed it off and said I should've known broccoli costs more -- something she didn't mention when offering the switch. That felt a little off. Still, the food quality speaks for itself, and I'd definitely return -- just double-checking any substitutions next time. read more

We are (we're) regulars here, not any more. The noise is torturous! The food, sometimes okay, the seafood is great. I ordered pot roast today, first time at Quinn's. It was a generous amount of beef, however it was "cut" the wrong way. Cheap cuts of meat are supposed to be cut against the grain, everyone knows that! My wife's scallops were good. As I mentioned earlier, they do a good job with seafood, usually. I usually order two glasses of wine, however our server never came back to check on us. When I told her about my pot roast being cut the wrong way, she looked at me like I was just being unreasonable. What started out being a somewhat quiet meal, turned into a disaster! When I checked in on Yelp, I found out that I was the "duke". I will gladly relinquish my title after this meal. They should hire cooks that know what they are doing! read more

Wow so I have to say we were really impressed. Got the hot soft pretzel apps (too much salt on them but that was brushed off, they were buttery and perfect otherwise) grilled chicken sandwich, hot lobster roll, and Caroline's signature salad with steak tips. Everything was cooked perfectly, the fries were delish, the lobster roll was filled with tail and claw meat and just was really impressed overall. Looking forward to coming back soon read more

So.... Not a local by any chance. Left Wachusett after an afternoon / evening of riding the snot out of the mountain. Yeah you know it, I rode the blues and greens. Anyways, The Barn stops serving at 9 so they mentioned this place. I looked up the yelp reviews as we were on our way here. Check out the bad reviews on your own as our experience couldn't have been any better in all honesty. Showed up 10 minutes before kitchen stopped serving main entrees (finger food till 1 according to menu). Greeted with friendly hello by one of the bar tenders as we entered. Sat down and asked if we could still order from the kitchen. His name is not on the check but he is #7 according to the slip. Food was everything expected it met the standard. Chili chicken wings were good and the smash burger was absolutely adequate. Beer off the taps was good. While many expect service to cater to their every whim, the service met the standard. We weren't ignored as it seems many of the negative reviews implied. If you're needy, maybe you should continue on the North end of Boston. We have a spot to go to that hit the spot after tearing it up for a few hours plus. read more

I really can't fault the place after having visited twice. Zero issues with parking (we've gone at weird times). Both visits we sat at the bar. Both times our bartender was very personable and attentive and the food was fresh and flavorful and was served to us pretty quickly. Drinks were good! We plan on returning again. Very clean restaurant! Parking availability is atrocious however. Had the French onion soup it was the tastiest I ever had, but there was no liquid in the crock and the bread/croutons were mush...It should be called onion casserole. Haddock sandwich was inedible, it seemed as if the sandwich was ready well before the fries, and the cheese (!) was similar to string cheese. Waitress never checked on us after food was delivered. The waitress was kind and took fish sandwich off the bill (went to McDonald's after to get a fish sandwich). Not great and I'm so disappointed. Six of us went out for lunch today and it was not great. My friend ordered the stir fry with steak and she couldn't chew it; it was very tough. So she left it on the plate. When she told the waitress she said "it must be a tougher meat today". There was no offer of taking it off the bill or offering dessert. My Cobb salad was okay but some of the chicken was also tough. I don't think we will go back. read more

Great place for great food and service. I was looking for seafood in the area and this place came up. I ordered the seafood platter with fried haddock, scallops and clam strips. The batter was light and accentuated the seafood. Absolutely delicious. It came with fries and coleslaw. We will definitely be back again when in Holden. read more

Went for lunch today. There were 14 people sitting at the bar so it was more than half empty. There were 2 bartenders on. Service was terribly slow. The bartenders spoke to each other the whole time and couldn't be bothered to check on customers. We made eye contact several times and they would not come over. When you serve mediocre bar food your business depends on the service. We might have spent more money on another round if they bothered to check on us before we were done eating. read more

One of the worst restaurants I have ever been to. Service is by far is horrible.. it is local so I have been a few times hoping it's a bad day.. bar service is so bad, today I came to get a drink and gift for Christmas, I sat at the bar for almost 15 mins before anyone even cleared the dirty plates from the customer before me. Took my in-laws here for their birthdays. Our server was so accommodating when we asked for a booth instead of a table. She was very personable and attentive. Craft draft beers were great and my father-in-law loved his Manhattan. Three of us had seafood (shrimp scampi, fried seafood platter and baked seafood platter) All meals were delicious. Pros: called ahead and although they don't take reservations, they were able to put my party on a list for arrival in 15-20 minutes. Our table was ready right when we arrived. Our waitress was awesome, extremely attentive, and corrected food that came out incorrectly immediately. Standard bar food, but generous portions. Lots of seating at the bar and decent drinks. Cons: this restaurant is new and staff still seem to be getting used to everything. Parking is horrendous, so plan accordingly and don't park in lots immediately adjacent- there are signs posted that you will be towed. For the future, I hope they can strike up some sort of after-hours deal with the lots next door... Overall, a good substitute for the now-closed Local. Given the Holden dining selections currently available, It's worth a try. read more

First time here took my step father for father's day dinner. First the service was fantastic our waitress was very attentive and very sweet. Our drinks were brought right over and made perfectly. We ordered a appetizer which was the nachos holy crap they were HUGE they were so big it didn't look like we touched them and there was 4 of us. My father ordered the clam chowder bowl it again was huge never ending bowl he loved it. I ordered the fishermen's platter it was enormous. We will definitely be back and now know to not eat all day definitely bring your appetite lmao. read more

Fist time going to Quinns in Holden. Arrived around 4pm, parking is limited, so plan accordingly. Sat at the bar and was ignored by the three bar staff that seemed to circle the bar looking for items to make drinks for other customers. After 10 minutes I fortunately was able to get the attention of a bartender who honestly seemed annoyed with taking our drink order (two beers). Upon his return we requested menus (not offered). Eye contact seemed to be avoided at all costs from the bar staff. I finally called the bar tender over and stated we were ready to place our order when he had a chance. He came back 5 minutes later and we ordered two appetizers and our meals. At 4:40 we finally received one of our appetizers, the chicken wings with Garlic Parmesan. We noticed on the far corner of the bar, a couple who came in after us had already finished eating their entrées. The chicken was pretty good, but was curious what happened to our nachos, about five minutes later our entrées arrived. I asked the food runner about them, she looked at the slip and a minute later returned with cold nachos. At this point not a single server had been to check on us. I ordered the Cajun Ribeye. Very tasty. I ordered it medium rare. It came well done. My friend ordered the steak tips medium. Hers were perfect. Again no bar staff ever came to check on our meal. We finally gained the attention of a bartender for another round of beers. Never asked how the food was and at this point I wasn't going to offer any information. At 5pm the bar staff changed. OMG what a difference. Unfortunately I was done, irritated and was more than ready to leave. If I could give zero stars I would The bartenders saw we were unhappy and asked if everything was okay. I let them know we weren't happy and they were very apologetic, they were sincere. I might just return because of them, but unsure. read more

Been going here for a while and it and be hit and miss. Very large portions - I don't care who you are yer gonna get full. But a few comments. The burgers are juicy and delicious. They have tater tots and I love them. The Dublin Dip and Ryans Ruben are good too. However if you are expecting shaved steak or shaved corned beef shy away here. The chef seems to believe a thicker more of a knife cut. I wear dentures and these sandwiches presented a challenge to eat as the meat was cut think not shaved. Same goes for the steak tips. It tastes wonderful - seasoned well and a nice mix of peppers, onions and rice with a delicious sauce. I order my meat rare as again - dentures make chewing tough or thick cut meats a challenge. But these tips well - ya. Major tough. Shoe leather tough. Rare and they couldn't have been more tough. But it tasted great - just for me un chewable. But the dogs LOVED it. Baked haddock. Never been bad. Ever. Just a great, great dish. Chicken Parm. Had it there and it was wonderful then went back for it a few days later and it was like a different dish. Pasta wasn't loose it stuck together. Sauce was so thick it was pasty. Bread was great - both times. Had it a third time still not like the 1st. Oh well. Chicken Piccata. One of my favorites and I've haven't had this one ever wander far from near perfection. Always as expected. Quinn's is still one of my favorite places to go - its fast friendly and over all a very good deal. If you have a party expect a little wait. Oh - drinks. Quinn's makes a GREAT drink. The seasonal salads, wings, and lobster rolls are delicious and my favorite things on the menu. It gets busy and they don't take reservations, plan accordingly. It's very loud and parking can be challenging during peak hours. The bar is always busy, so it's probably well-stocked and run efficiently. They have lots of bar seating as well as high-top and dinner tables to accommodate personal preferences. You may need to wait a few minutes for a table and be creative with your parking, but it's worth it. read more
