This place was great! I took my little girl here and they remembered us from the recent card show. The two guys working were SUPER nice and knew about everything about every sport. We had a great conversation while my daughter browsed through wNBA, NBA and hockey cards. We had a wonderful time and we will definitely be back! I recommend this place to anyone. If you're not one of their homies or playing in an event, don't expect stellar customer service. I'd say Peter and Noah are the only friendly / approachable ones there. Singles don't have a price tag on them, they scan the cards using the TCG app or look up comps online and will let you know from there how much they want to sell it to you. Sealed product is *mostly* over retail MSRP -- they state they go off of "the market value". There's no reason for Shining Fates and Vivid Voltage ETBs to be $60-70 when they're now reprinted into oblivion. Don't get me started on the price of single packs. They buy cards at an unspecified rate/percentage. There's times I've gotten between 50-100% value in store credit. Last time I was there, an employee said they're "going cashless" so they won't pay out in cash anymore? Lol Okay, one good thing is that their card supplies are at a good price point. They have MTG, MHA card game, & FAB products there also. Sports cards are overpriced there as well, so if you see a slab or single you want, definitely do your research beforehand. 3.5/5 read more

Bought a slab from them and took it back a few weeks later for in store trade. They don't even want the slab and tried to not offer anything until I said I just bought this for you guys and then they still low balled the living crap out of me with 10% of purchase price on the slab. I was amazed at the customer service I received at this card shop. Vince and Chris took about 2.5 hours to help me create a deck from scratch! Being a new MTG player, I had my doubts taking up a new TCG due to the uncertainty of deck building but they really took things to the next level. A few friends got me into the commander format. For those who don't know, these decks need to be constructed with 100 cards and no duplicates. With their seemingly endless game knowledge and expertise, they both made it an immersive and fun experience. The prices were comparable to those of online vendors which solidified my decision in purchasing all the cards at the shop. By far the biggest selection of cards I've seen at a shop thus far! I regularly play at Darkside Games. It's definitely the best place to play Magic The Gathering in Vegas. The staff (Don, Paul, Tom, Nick and Andrew) are very helpful and Knowledgeable when it comes to Magic. They will help you with deck tech, building and testing. There are always people playing and even if you don't have a deck, its like $3 to play a top tier deck of any format! Tournaments are daily, and they even do popup drafts. I like how there are thousands of singles to buy, and if they don't have the cards you are looking for, they would go out of their way to get them for you in a reasonable time. If you like POP figures, there are a ton! They also sell lots of vintage video games! If you're looking for a MTG shop, this is where you should go! read more

This guy Gage is 22 and the manager. That's cool, except that he has no morals or ethics. He will fully take advantage and has NO problem lieing to your face if you want to sell something. If you're going to buy something, he's awesome and knows his stuff, but if you want to sell him something he will take full advantage. I caught him lieing several times when I went in and I would call him out each time. His response" You're take it to literally." Too literally? I was just taking HIS own words that HE said. Darkside is an awesome game store to go to for video games (especially old stuff), trading card games (Magic the Gathering, etc.), and accessories. All of the people who work at Darkside are the nicest. They do so much for the gaming community: they have several online communities, tournaments at their location (a huge game room for players to hang out), and they go above and beyond to help everybody who comes in. They also fix all kinds of phones and electronics in house for the lowest I've seen for actual oem parts and expert work. They care about the local community and gaming. They're the best. Don, Elizabeth, Vince, Nick, and Paul make a completely comfortable environment to hang out and game in. They're also in a great location that's pretty central and near major highways. Kyle, Gage and Cedric have been great and help me out when looking for basketball cards. I walked into Darkside Games to see about off loading some mint arena lands and black lotus and experienced the worst customer service I have ever received in my whole life. The person behind the counter didn't even look at me, he was staring into his personal cell phone and only said to me "not interested". I said to him "don't you even want to look at what I brought in?" He looked up and said no. I commented that I drove hear from north Las Vegas and you didn't even look at me or my cards and said not interested. I asked if there was anyone else who works hear that would like to take a look and make an offer. He said "sure" then walked away. Someone else came out and immediately told me to leave the store. I have never in my life received service like that. I have never in my life been advised to leave the store. I will never ever go back to Darkside Games. I went to another store after visiting your appauling business and received a cash offer I was very happy with and accepted. No next time for your business, one and done with you. read more

I like this place a lot. My son and his friend wanted to find a place to play Pokémon tgc together and they have a place for them to play and they didnt charge. We bought some of those pre made decks for him and his friend and they were a good price. My son has a bunch of Pokémon and they had base energies for him to help build his deck. This is a shop that focuses on Trading Card Games and Retro Video Games. It's broken into two actual main areas, a storefront where most of its product is sold, and a tournament gaming section for various Board Games and TCGs. The gaming area is actually clean and well kept, smells good, with a well stocked unisex bathroom. There are more than ten tables to sit down and play, with additional seating in a side room if capacity is reached. Each of the tables have large playmats on them ready, so if you forget to bring your own, you're still in good condition. The main storefront is also a clean and well organized area. For TCGs, aside from the massive number of singles they have on hand, they also offer a huge variety of playmats, binders, card sleeves, and deck boxes. Prices on these products are very fair, some of the lowest you'll find in the Las Vegas area. They keep a wide variety of retro games and hardware in well preserved condition, ranging from the NES all the way to the PS3 and Xbox 360. You are even allowed to demo the games before you buy. There are also small snacks and drinks for sale if you want to grab something quick. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable about their product, more than willing to give great gift ideas. I recently dropped my phone in my garage and the screen went blank. I was in panic mode cause I have a lot of info on my phone that I needed. I called around a bunch phone repair shops and they quoted me around $200 to fix my phone. I called darkside games and they gave me the best deal. Also they are open till midnight so I was able to drop it off late night and pick it up after work the next day. My phone looks brand new!!! Usually I dont buy from comic and gaming stores anymore I find them irrelevant in the cheap prices of the internet. This store has solidified that thought in my head. I called the store to see if the had an item I was specifically looking for and was excited to get. They told me they had said item at the store when I called. So I drive myself all the way to the southpoint in hope to buy my item. The biggest joke was the staff that they had a bunch of young kids doing nothing second they didnt have the item I drove all the way over to their store for. Maybe my expectations were too high expecting to be treated decently at this shop, but let's just say those expectations were far from met. When we arrived, it was like pulling teeth for any kind of attention. All the teenage-employees were too busy talking to their friends to give other patrons the time of day. Before you waste your time coming to this shop, I would definitely call and clarify that what you need is there. I did just that, was told they would be able to look at my items, but when I arrived they told me something completely different than what they told me over the phone. Been going to dark side since August 2016 My first experience with them on my first large order from them two things went wrong my snap caster mage has a crease on it and a hallowed fountain was missing, I called and told Don the Owner what happend, and all he said come in well fix it, didn't even question it and made things right. By far my favorite local game shop in town! Been coming here on pretty much a weekly basis ever since I first walked through the doors! The staff is super friendly, and helped me learn the basics of multiple TCG games; All of which I play quite extensively now. Not only are the staff friendly but the community they host events for is amazing as well, and are super welcoming! They have basically everything you want as your typical geek, video games old and new, collectable TCG cards ranging from Magic: The Gathering, Pokemon, DragonballZ Super, and even Final Fantasy TCG! There are snacks and drinks to accomodate you while focusing on tournaments, and they have a vast selection of singles for multiple TCG's! I am an avid pokemon card collector and enjoy pulling cards out of packs. I frequent this shop for my booster pack and box needs as they are cheaper than most and have a larger selection. However I will have to find another place to get my cards from because this is unacceptable. Came to the shop to buy some packs and booster boxes. Ended up purchasing 2 boxes and 9 unified minds single packs. The unified minds booster pack is supposed to contain 10 cards and a code card with about a 1/3 holo or better rate. Out of 9 packs not only did I not receive any holo or better but each of the 9 packs contained 11 cards and a code card. Contacted the shop and was told that happens sometimes. I would believe that if it was one single pack containing an extra card but not 9 in a row( I had purchased their last remaining booster packs for unified minds) this honestly leads me to believe they were opened and repacked by the shop. Be careful when purchasing non sealed single booster packs and make sure to check your seals carefully or just find another shop to purchase from altogether. $45 down the toilet on tampered packs what a shame. read more
