We still were able to pick some, but it was all tiny tiny strawberries. They were still tasty, so we enjoyed. All strawberries are $5.59 per pound. You can bring your own basket/container or get a free biodegradable paper bucket for picking. We got two quarts which weighed at $15. No fee to enter the field and pick. No bathrooms on premises so be warned. Would return earlier in the season!

Upon pulling in the lot we saw signs that's said it is a "Pick Your Own" farm so we laughed and said we'd give it a try, but upon parking we realized you CAN pick your own if you'd like to (and there's a map that lays out where each veggie can be picked) but we opted to purchase the pre-picked veggies as they were fresh, colorful and decently priced. They have such a nice variety and I said that moving forward this may be our "go to" farmers market bc it's so much less hectic than the others and they have a nice "veggie schedule" handout so we know when every veggie is in season and can plan accordingly. So happy we spontaneously decided to venture to Specca!

Right now, the sunflower field is in full beauty, and coming soon: apple, pumpkin, and gourd picking. The farm is open year‑round with fresh produce, a charming farm market, and seasonal home goods. Dogs are preferred outdoors, but if it is quiet, they may let your pup pop inside. Everyone who works here is incredibly friendly -- you can tell they truly love what they do. And right on the property is a Tomasello Winery tasting room, featuring a huge portfolio of New Jersey‑made wines. We did a 5‑wine tasting (which includes a souvenir glass!) and explored everything from grape wines to fruit wines, cider, and even cream‑infused varieties with over 50 different products. There's a lot of room for picking here, but not a lot of shade on directly sunlit day like today. That being said, it was still a good time going in and out of the rows and we were able to get a decent amount of fruit with us. Price per lb. was more than great too! We drove the hour to get there, checked in, each given a bag, waited and boarded the hayride to the orchard. When we arrived, there wasn't a single good apple in any of the trees. Instead there were large crates in the rows of apples. What a disappointment. I asked an employee about actually picking apples from the tree and she said that there had been bad weather in April which killed the crop for the fall. I asked why it wouldn't be on the website and she said it is, but it is buried in other things. I went to the site and saw that they mentioned that there were fewer apples. Never said none. Family after family left with empty bags. We were all really disappointed. AT ANY TIME THEY COULD HAVE AND SHOULD HAVE SAID THAT THERE WERE NO APPLES IN THE TREES. It was a no better experience than going "apple picking" in the supermarket. This was a known issue and hid the truth from customers. They basically stole $2.50 per person (total of $15) as they were selling something that they didn't have. After this experience, I would be hard pressed to go back let alone recommend them.

When you arrive, they ask how many bags you want, give you big plastic bags, and then you're off to pick your own produce. We decided to pick collard greens, turnip greens, mustard greens, sweet potatoes, and a few peppers. Some items were out of season, so we bought those inside the market instead. Inside, we grabbed garlic, tomatoes, scallions, apples, onions, and a bottle of peach cider which I highly recommend! Everything was fresh and flavorful. The workers were all friendly, helpful, and welcoming. You can drive around the farm, park your car to the side, and pick whatever you need. When you're done, you stop at the booth, unload your items to be weighed, and pay there. They accept both cash and all major credit cards. A few tips: wear old clothes and shoes, and definitely don't get your car washed before going because everything gets dusty! I also saw a few people using scissors or knives to cut their vegetables, which is a smart idea, though we picked ours by hand. After getting home, cleaning everything, and cooking up the greens for dinner, I have to say they were the best greens I've ever had in my life. Farm-to-table food truly hits different.
