Darrell's employee came out to look at our broken dishwasher, stove, and oven. Quoted us hundreds of dollars for EACH. I checked with multiple other businesses and they all basically told me I was being scammed. I went ahead with the stove repair only as they had already ordered the parts. A different employee came out for the service call, took a wire brush, cleaned our stove burners in 2 minutes, and said nothing is wrong with these. Still got charged almost $200. DO NOT HIRE THEM. I called darrels appliance for a glass oven door that broke.Since being FIXED the screws kept falling out. I started calling several days after to get this fixed. They refused. When the tech came out I told him I felt not replacing the hand would cause this problem as some of the screw holes in the handle were broken. I also had to tell the tech how to install the glass. Just WOW if you live in cache valley you know it can be difficult to find someone who is willing to put 1000% in for you when you are stressed, Jeff from Darrell's Appliance was so helpful and nice, he explained step by step what was wrong and what we could do! My Amana/Whirlpool dryer stopped working. So I called the warranty department on it and they said they would have someone come out and look at it. I get a call later from someone at Darrell's trying to schedule an appointment to come take a look at the dryer. The tech comes out and tests the dryer and determines that it is not getting enough power from the wall and there is nothing he could do. He recommended calling an electrician. Before he goes I never had to sign anything and he even told me that he shouldn't have to bill me anything because it was a warranty. Fast forward to August 15th when I receive a bill in the mail for $131.24. $78 for the service call and $45 for labor for 0.90 hours. $8.24 in tax. I call to ask why I am being charged money because I was told it was under warranty. Accounting department could not answer all of my questions so she had the tech give me a call the following day today. I explained to the tech that I was upset that I was being charged because I had not been told that I was going to receive a charge. There was no point where I signed anything agreeing to pay if the warranty didn't cover it. There was no discussion about how anything works. They are literally charging me $131.24 for fixing nothing. This is almost 25% of the cost of the original dryer. If I had known that they would charge me I would've spent that money on buying a multi-meter and troubleshooting it myself because our warranty was almost up anyways. I asked if they could provide any discount for the price since they literally did nothing. The tech went on to explain that his labor is usually more expensive and that he already cut down the price. That statement literally means nothing to me because they are not upfront with their price anyway. How would I know if his labor price was really already discounted. He said that he discounted is labor because he knew that it would be expensive for me to have an electrician come out.... If he knew that he was going to have to charge me why did he not tell me when he was at my house. Moral of the story. If your authorized repair person for your warranty involves this business don't use them. They obviously are okay with miscommunication and won't be transparent in their costs. Find someone else. Get it in writing if they are going to possibly charge you. I would've appreciated transparency. read more

If you want to be frustrated constantly deal with Darrell's. The company I work for has used them for years but lately service has gone way down hill. They do have a few good ones there but over all they are usually late for appointments and occasionally don't show up. Over the weekend we had a dishwasher installed. Whoever the service tech was should be doing entry level shelf stocking or sweeping floors! We had to leave and didn't get home until 3 a.m. tired and dirty, and this is what we came home too; he shut off the wrong water valve and didn't turn it back on, horses, cows and pigs were out of water when we got home, he shut off the gas and never turned it back on, we had cold showers at 3 in the morning. My kitchen was clean when I left, he took all the cleaners out from under the sink and left them on my counter, he used a whole roll of my paper towels, they were all wet in a big wad in the garbage. There was a broken valve left in my sink along with several of my good cleaning rags all soaking wet and left dirty in the sink. My rugs were everywhere and my floor was dirty. He also brought his girlfriend and let her wonder the house while he was destroying my kitchen. To top it off, the dishwasher doesn't fit so it wasn't even installed and there NO communication about ANY OF it! read more

I have been a customer of Darrells since I got married. A few years ago I called them to service my ice maker. Without really looking at it I was quoted prices to replace the unit. Since it would cost more than a new fridge I decided to go without an ice maker. Last week my oven stopped working after a self clean. I called them on Monday and they sent a technician out that same day. Even though they looked up my oven type snd how old it was , they sent someone who was not capable of diagnosing the problem. So on Tuesday they sent out their technician Paul. Paul was probably at my house 30 plus minutes. 90% of that time he was on his phone looking up how much all of the circuit boards and fuses would be to replace before even looking at the oven. I must have asked him 20 tine if he could at least check to see if they needed to be replaced and he said he could but it would be a waste of time because he knew what was wrong. I finally convinced him to test the items that he'd given me prices for and during that painful process I had to listen about how long it took to get a new piece of equipment so that he could remove wall ovens and do all the testing. He Finally pulled out the oven and looked at a few things snd told me a fuse was bad and since that protects the circuit boards, they were bad too. He finally left but for some reason he took the back to my oven. Not feeling very confident in his diagnosis, I called another repair company who does not sell appliances. They came out on Friday and in 5 minutes had 2 fuses replaced and my oven back in perfect working order without needing to replace any of the circuit boards. While I had the other technician at my house I asked him to look at my ice maker. He found that the ice maker was in fact in good working order. The problem was with the wiring and how it entered the door. So I would have had to replace a perfectly good ice maker with another one that didn't work because the wiring was bad. I asked for the back of oven to be returned and he didn't even have the respect to bring it to my door. He just left it by my front sidewalk. A 40 year customer gone! None of my friends will be using Darrells either. Since Monday I've heard many other horror stories about their current service team. I'm not the only one they've lost! We know Darrell personally and feel bad that it is being managed so badly. I guess all good things come to an end! read more

This review pertains to Darrell's fulfilling a service call through our home warranty. Normally, with a home warranty service call, the contractor is out within 3 to 5 days. It took Daryl's 2 weeks even to make the first call. They came a week later to make the repair. The repair did not fix the issue. When we called them again to let them know the repair had been completed improperly, and ask them to come out as soon as possible, they said the soonest they could get a technician to us was a week later. That day marked three weeks since we had made the initial call. It would have been four weeks for them even to come out and assess the failed repair. It would have taken even longer if additional parts were needed. We requested another service company. read more

This place is not your grandparents nor your parents Darrell's Appliance. This store has turned into the most devious and dishonest store and group of people with whom I have ever done business. If you want to pay the highest prices in this area for appliances, receive less than extremely poor customer service, have promise after promise broken and be lied to by good upstanding people, then do business here. I really believe they are in cahoots with G.E. We have purchased two new washer/dryer sets from them in the past four years. In each case, we had problems right out of the box with the washers. In both instances, Darrell's lied to us and gave just enough poor service to get us through the one-year warranty period. Then they either wanted to sell us a new set or rip us off by continuing to fix the junk they sold us. You might ask, why did we buy the second set from them? Well, years of family loyalty for one but SHAME ON ME!! On the last washer we tried to get some information from G.E. We were lied to. We tried to get copies of service records from Darrell's. We were told we couldn't because the warranty service records were proprietary to G.E. Today, Darrell's repair person (Jeff) made his final warranty visit on our second washer. He placed a call into G.E. to speak to one of their technicians. I was listening to the conversation. I was asked to leave. The information they were discussing was proprietary. Now something is sketchy when the consumer can't be a party to warranty service on his or her own purchase. If they have nothing to hide, why is all their G.E. warranty work so top secret that the customer can't get repair records or even listen to a conversation? My only conclusion is there are rogues involved somewhere, either Darrell's, G.E. or in my opinion both. The dryer still works great. It's only 14 months old. And only my wife and I use it. Nonetheless, next week I am paying Lowe's $15 to haul it to the landfill. I don't want anything in my home that reminds and embarrasses me that I am a naive 60-year-old man who was dumb enough to give Darrell's a second chance at my business. My recommendation to you is to purchase your appliances elsewhere. And as far as your washing is concerned, take it down to Logan River like our pioneer ancestors did. They always looked clean and very proper in all our old family albums. Besides ... it would be good exercise and a heck of a lot less frustrating than dealing with these unorganized imbeciles. Take my word! I have been dealing with them for a few years now. They could have given us a top of the line new washer and dryer for free and been in a better position than they are in now. They have created two walking talking bad advertisements who will likely open nearly every conversation we have for at least the next year with the line, "if you have a few minutes I'd like to tell you about this devious business operating out in Benson Ward. Very poor communication. Had service come onsite to diagnose an issue. Then presented with the solution and pricing, both technicians expressed how expensive they felt the part was. Suggested that I look online to see if I could find it cheaper. I asked if I should do the research on a cheaper part and then follow up with them to schedule the install. Both technicians agreed. Once I found the part online for less and called to schedule (which took 3 phone calls to even get a respond) I was told that they could not install a part not purchased through them. Totally understand the policy but the lack of communication is a problem. Now I have a $220 part and no way to have it installed. read more

Horrible. We had a combination oven and microwave on hold, we would be back to get it, but they sold it out from under us. To make it up to us they had a 'great deal' on a display oven and microwave. The microwave was disgustingly dirty, obviously used to heat something at one time or other, but took their word that it was 'display.' Then the microwave stopped working. We called the warrantee center and they said it was already registered to a collage dorm in the Salt Lake City area! Then we spent another $200 trying to get it fixed with a new motherboard and the cost of installation. Still didn't work. I took it back to Darrell's Appliance and dropped it off. Recently, we had dishwasher drama at our lake cabin, some distance from any repair service. But then we noticed Darrell's truck next door. The friendly, helpful service man came over and had the repair done quickly. We were so relieved. It's worth the trip to "beautiful downtown Benson" to check out their stock. read more

The service technician did not return my calls, did not show up the day he said he would, and when he finally came he did not fix the problem. When I called to tell him the problem wasn't fixed and that I was frustrated because it was over a month since I first called, he assured me he would fix it immediately and only charge me for the part. Over a week later he fixed it. He charged me for the part in addition to a $37.75 flat rate fee and a $12 invoicing fee. I will not use this business again. read more

Darrell's came to my house, diagnosed the problem and gave me a bid to fix my washer/dryer combo. They showed up right on time for the actual repair, the part came in less than what they quoted and the job took less time than what they quoted. They had quoted me $550 for the job and ended up charging me $299.00. More than fair and very honest. I would never hesitate to use them again. read more

I requested a service call after business hours, the next business day, no call, no text, no e-mail.
