Mike and his crew first painted the ENTIRE interior of our Craftsman style home, including our kitchen cabinets. We went with some strong color choices (dark green on the lower cabinets and a lighter green on the upper cabinets). Mike's team did an exquisite job. The colors look great and match the style of our hom. We had them back to power wash the house, paint the porch, and the outside doors. This gave the whole structure a freshness and extended the life of our current outdoor paint by at least a year. I moved into my house in late 2021. I hated the color of my house but it wasn't a deal breaker. I visited the home show at the Del Mar fairgrounds and met Ace with Procoat there. I had been on the fence about investing in a new paint job. The other estimates were significantly more and with moderate reviews. Ace came to my house on time for a walk through estimate on time, ready to answer questions and didn't push his services. He explained the process, spoke highly about his crew and delivered an estimate several days before he had committed to. Rain delayed the start by a couple of weeks, but once the sky was cleared, the crew went to work. Jose was onsite with his other teammates Sambino and Jose by 7 am daily. They were very polite, businesslike and so easy to work with. At the end of each day, they cleaned up after themselves. I was shocked to come home the first day of painting and barely recognized the front of my house. The men were almost giddy watching me take transformation photos each day. My husband and I had been wanting to paint the exterior of our home in Chula Vista for awhile and Mike with Procoat Painting was recommended to us by another contractor we do business with. During our initial meeting with Mike he was very thorough in explaining what we could expect and also took the time to listen to what we had in mind for our home and what we envisioned. I could tell he was passionate about his and his team's ability to carry out exactly what we were looking for. After the initial meeting with Mike we knew we were going to use his company due to his knowledge, professionalism and overall good attitude. I'd also like to note that I didn't feel like he was pushy and just trying to sell me something. Scheduling with Procoat was pretty straightforward and we scheduled the painting of our home within a week of our initial meeting. Mike let us know that Ty and his crew of painters would take great care of us and that we would love the finished product. Quality: The painting of our home took a total of 4 days and the breakdown went as follows: Day 1 - The complete exterior of our home was pressure washed and all windows were inspected to ensure there was no cracking around the window trim. If there was it was sealed with caulking. They also scraped loose paint chips off or our trellis and completed minor wood repairs. Day 2 - The team carefully masked all doors, windows and garage doors with masking paper/plastic and tape to ensure paint overspray did not occur. Their attention to detail and respect for us was displayed by their kind and detailed efforts in also completely covering our pop-up travel trailer as well as our SUV with plastic that was in our driveway. The last item on day 2 consisted of a coat of primer being applied to the complete exterior so that it would be ready for two coats of paint the following day. Day 3 - Two coats of paint were applied to the main body of the home (primary color) and to the trim (secondary color). It was nice to see the gradual transformation. Day 4 - The team finished up the trim color as well as the side doors and garage doors. The painting of our trellis was also completed on this day. Overall experience and value - My husband and I are absolutely satisfied with the expertise, craftsmanship, professionalism and attention to detail that Mike as well as Ty and his crew exemplified. I would recommend Procoat painting for your painting needs. We contacted them and several other painting contractors early December about painting the interior of our home. They were considerably cheaper than a lot of their competition. They estimated a mid to late January project, which was totally understandable. The unexpected San Diego rain in late December caused cancellations of their exterior jobs so they called 1-2 days before to see if we could slip them in last minute. We moved as much stuff into the middle of the rooms as possible with the late notice and they were willing to move things around to paint as well. Because this job was last minute, and finished right on New Year's eve, i have a feeling that this job was more rushed than their normal ones. There were several small areas around the house, particularly at corners, that lines were not painted straight and/or overpainted. I am sure that Ace would have been more than willing to get the guys back out here to fix up every little thing i noticed but i just ended up just fixing all of the misses/overpaint as they were small. *Side note - I do not recommend the white ceiling/different colored walls when you have textured walls/ceilings. I just want to share my awesome experience with this company, Procoat. I met Ace Dion at the home show at the Del Mar fairgrounds and had him come over and give me an estimate to paint my house. At the same time that he was there, I also had a company looking to give me an estimate for replacing my wood patio cover, which had some rot and termite damage. After that company had left with the very expensive estimate to replace my patio cover, Ace showed me that his crew could repair it and make it like new again for a fraction of what they were asking to replace it. So I decided to go with Procoat and have all the paint and repair work done and I am sure glad I did! First, they washed the entire house and began taping off in preparation for the paint. They applied primer and two coats of paint on the entire house. They also painted my old garage door and exterior doors as well to match the trim color. Everything went very smooth. There was no damage to landscaping, no overspray on the neighbor's homes; no problems whatsoever. Ricardo is an excellent painter, but he is also a very skilled carpenter and handyman. He is quite possibly the hardest worker I have ever known. He fixed every little tiny issue that I noticed and did not stop until the job was perfect.
