Came here for the churros. They do take a while since they make them fresh. So just be prepared for that. They have a separate line for those waiting. We got strawberry and bavarian creme. Both were amazing! They're smaller sized and filled with either bavarian creme or strawberry filling. They were crispy on the outside and soft and chewy on the inside. Like most churros, eat them fresh and hot! I think they would have paired well with some ice cream and coffee. Next time. I stopped in here after not finding any chocolate in the chocolate shop down the street and was pleased to find lots of options here. I got two truffles both of which were OK. This is a cute little shop in Leavenworth but definitely pricey. They have a large variety of candy, lots of taffy flavors especially. There is the usual caramel corn, cotton candy, and prepackaged candy you could get about anywhere but these ones come with an extra ticket price for being in Leavenworth. There's also apparently a whole section of imported sweets that I must have missed but those would have been fun to look through! We were in the mood for ice cream, 3.00 for a child scoop in a bowl and not a lot of flavors to choose from but I did enjoy mine as did the husband. The chocolate truffles we selected were also quite good and went great with the wine we'd bought in town earlier. Overall it's an adorable shop in an expensive destination town so I think the prices are to be expected. You know, the candy your grandparents ate, that you weren't that into as a child, but have grown fiercely nostalgic about. Yeah. Those candies. Whatever candy you're thinking of, it's probably here. I have a soft spot for this shoppe - I use to come here as a kid. But a lot has changed since then, mostly that the younger ppl that work there just don't provide good customer service. We visited yesterday and they were just impatient and rude. We bought some chocolates and ice cream, 45 mins before closing time, so I don't know what the rudeness was about. Chocolates were fine, ice cream is very basic quality and not nearly as good as Whistlepunk across the street. Nostalgia kept bringing me back but sadly I think I'm done. Poor service kills the best of places but poor service and mediocre product is a death sentence. read more

Such a cute shop in the Leavenworth town area. They sell all your sweet needs from ice cream, shakes, taffy to fudge and chocolate truffles! It's such an interesting and fun candy shop, they have lots of things I haven't seen since my childhood. We got some goodies to take home like taffy (which they have TONS of flavors), caramel popcorn, and the hot cocoa (which is pictured and was in the CUTESSST cup). I have a good chunk of my family ancestry (by blood) that has its origins in Bavaria... Thus going to Das Sweet Shoppe on the hunt for coffee-flavored ice cream one hot summer day in Bavarian-themed Leavenworth was a fitting thing. We had tried one of the other candy stores in the town and found nothing. Not even ice cream. I was devastated. Then we came here and ice cream did appear on my horizon. My mom and I made a beeline for the back of the store. She was not hungry, neither was dad, it was early in the day. But I wanted ice cream, yes I was approximately 25 years old at the time, and so I got a small scoop of a salted caramel flavor. That scoop of ice cream was far tastier that I thought it would be. I had not been a fan of caramel nor salt flavored things, nor salted caramel flavored things in the past. But alas, somehow the ice cream hit me that day in a new way. And now, a few years later, I try to eat a salted caramel frozen yogurt bar every day. Life sometimes works in peculiar ways... My family and I were at this store yesterday and the whole experience left me with a bad taste in my mouth. We were looking at the prepackaged candy and I noticed that almost all the candy was displayed without prices. My kids gave me what they wanted to buy and because of the lack of displayed prices, I had no idea how much each item cost but figured they couldn't be more than $5-$8 and I would ask at the counter. After sending my family outside, and getting thru the chaos of customers, I then stood in line to purchase my candy. With everything going on around me, I forgot to ask how much each item was (my bad) and it didn't occur to me until after I had inserted my credit card that I had just paid over $20 for two prepackaged candies. I looked at the girl behind the counter with probably a dumbfounded look and asked if I could return them. Instead of answering me, she shifted her eyes and I followed them to a handwritten sign above the cash register that read, "All Sales Final." I guess I'm not the only one who got suckered into this scam of a store. I asked to speak to a manager. The girl ignored me and asked if I wanted my receipt instead. I said no, grabbed my stuff, walked out of the store, walked to my car and got out of Leavenworth as fast as possible and hope to never be back. I'm not sure what kind of business you are running but not displaying your prices and expecting people to find out at the register is a horrible business model. Your employee was quite rude as well and couldn't have cared less about helping me. This place is definitely filled with sweetness and it's just not the products they are selling but the exceptional customer service of going above and beyond. Hot day in Leavenworth of course like any other kid my son wanted ice cream. He has severe nut allergies so purchasing ice cream at any shop is not an option for us. We walk in and it's social distancing so we are waiting in line and it's BUSY! I never get my hopes high as I get disappointed when it comes to sweets and ice cream and my son's allergies. Get to the counter and tell the lovely ladies that he has allergies and if there is any nut free options. She looked at my son and goes buddy what flavor where you thinking and he goes chocolate and she goes no problem it's nut free and we will open a new tub to make sure there is no cross contamination.... now as a mom my heart was full and so grateful they were able to accommodate this for him. My sister loves saltwater taffy, specifically from Leavenworth so I decided to get her some during my recent visit. The selection was endless but luckily they had pre-packaged variety packs, with one-pounder bags for just $7 or a half-pounder. Being the most indecisive person on the planet, I really appreciated this option cause it relieved me from a lot of potential stress. When it's just under 30 degrees outside, that's the perfect time to eat ice cream - because then it won't melt! After eating a hearty Bavarian meal at a nearby restaurant, we decided to get dessert and get ice cream from Das Sweet. A friend of mine had recommended this place, plus it has a fun name. The interior does not look Bavarian at all, like all the other shops on this street. It looks like your typical candy shop. The front half if sweet treats and the ice cream is all the way at the end. They have a variety of flavors and I ended up picking the huckleberry. I wanted one scoop on a sugar cone, and the girl gave me a generous amount! If you want to pay with credit card, they add on a 50 cent charge though, FYI. There's also no inside seating, so you can either awkwardly have your ice cream standing in the store, or brave the cold and eat it outside.
