While visiting San Antonio, I wanted to find a spa nearby the Riverwalk and this location came up in my search. It's located inside of the Hyatt Regency Hotel on the ground floor. I arrived a few minutes prior to my 10am appointment and was seated in what I would call a calm or wellness room. I was offered a cup of tea and waited for my massage therapist. The spa is a bit outdated but the decorations helped from an aesthetic point of view. Gaya was my massage therapist. She was warm, welcoming, and very knowledgeable about the physiology of the body. She also made sure to remind me that "I am a princess" :-) lol....Thanks Gaya!!! After my massage I was offered a glass of wine and given more time to relax in the calm area. Caveat- we did not go through with our reservation.... Proceed with caution. My husband and I booked a staycation at the Hyatt Regency and booked a couples massage at Dasa a few days prior. We went down to the 'spa' at 9:45 for our 10 am appointment. Dasa's doors were closed, the place looked like it needed some desperate TLC. My husband called when our appointment time had clearly started and the doors were still closed. He is informed that we need to head to the first floor of the hotel for our services. We head upstairs to find a makeshift massage room setup in the grand terrace area. We were told there was some recent flooding in the spa itself. While I completely understand emergencies happen, we weren't given any prior notice of this issue. In fact, the gentleman we spoke to at the 'front desk' (a makeshift table with a computer in front of the massage room) questioned our lack of knowledge of the changes, saying that they have in fact been telling everyone about the inconvenience. The setup was not the equivalent of a spa experience and we could not reasonably pay full price for this. We walked away from our booking. Upon looking at some prior reviews, it looks like this place either frequently floods or the flooding inconvenience has been in place for a long time. There are several spas in the area. If you are a local, don't even bother. I received a $200 gift card and missed that it had an expiration date - how does something someone purchased for you expire? Booked the Body Sparkle $330 (massage therapist was AMAZING) expecting to pay $80.50 for being local and getting a 15% discount plus being able to use my gift. Management, however, was unable to allow me to use the gift card due to their new computer system. The best they could do was give me 35% off saving me $115... What was suppose to be a relaxing and luxurious experience had me leaving there Spa extremely upset and on the verge of tears. The staff is friendly, knowledgeable and attentive. The massages from Olga and Gaya are easily within our top 3 of all time. First my service provider, Araceli Ruiz, was great. The low stars was really for the business itself. I did not get the spa experience I was expecting. I realized they had a flood issue and had to move the spa but we were given no notification nor compensation for this. Also, they charge a credit card processing fee that isn't mentioned and that is the only way to pay!!! Not appropriate in my opinion. Lastly, do not spend 88 bucks on the foot ritual. It is NOT worth that for what you get. Go to a cheap nail salon and you will get the same experience for a quarter of the price. I am shocked at what I got was that expensive!! I purchased a signature massage through an auction at a fundraiser for a friend. The receptionist was professional and welcoming. Served me some lemon water. (Some places have tea, but I didn't see that they had any here) My masseuse was Gaya, and she did a good job. Communicated well and checked in on me throughout the massage asking if pressure was good. I've been to places where the massage table is warm, I'm not sure if that's a heated table or the sheets are warmed, but this place did not have that. Sheets were cold. However, nearing the end of my massage, Gaya did apply a warm blanket on my back and it felt wonderful. The essential oil was also cold when applied to my back. Again, other places have had it warmed. I'm sure we ran out of time, so I only had my posterior body massaged. Overall, I felt relaxed and less tensed after the massage. The value of this massage was $160 and my areas of concern were mainly shoulders. I guess I could get the tension taken out with a cheap 10min massage at the mall for less money. I just feel it's over priced. This spa is in a hotel and there was noise above us. Which Gaya apologized for. But it wasn't her fault. Sounded like construction or moving furniture for half of my massage. Another inconvenience was parking. I dislike going downtown because of parking being so expensive. I am from San Antonio, not a tourist. So driving to this place for a one hour massage and having to pay $23 for parking was ridiculous. I have NO idea how this place is so highly rated(They brag that they are the highest rated in SA). I can only think it's the same reason restaurants on the River Walk are rated so high-- a zillion tourists go here and submit reviews. Maybe it's better than others on the river walk (umm but maybe not) I would never go back. The spa is small, no robes or lockers or anything as you go to room to room, and the manager is very rude. The facial products they used on me were not salon grade (more like what you could buy at Ulta) I could hear others talking in other rooms. The technicians I had were very sweet, but it didn't make up for spending the amount$$$. They do not validate parking. Also they require masks-- even DURING treatments for vaccinated people. ooked two appointments for the Journey to Refresh at Dasa Spa located on the Riverwalk level of the Hyatt Regency. I have to be honest, I was expecting a lot more especially with the location. It was my best friend and I and I was really hoping for a girls spa day. I was expecting a spa that took you to the nice locker room with all the amenities, the steam room, big nice oversized private showers, make-up vanities and a lounge room for you to lay back and enjoy a glass of champagne or hot tea. This wasn't that kind of spa. So initially I was a little disappointed I didn't get to run around in my cute spa robe and slippers with my best friend. We were taken in to a lounge area awaiting for our rooms and it was nice and relaxing but not as anticipated. We were both then greeted by our massage therapist. I had Albert and she had Chris. Walked into our rooms and they were very nice. Albert told me he was going to step outside so I could change and he would be back in. I laid face down on the massage table with nice white sheets and a warmed table. Ok, I'm good with this. Albert politely knocked and came back into the room and explained the order of my treatment. We started with the full body massage which they extended 30 minutes for me because I opted out of the manicure and pedicure since I already had a fresh one. I thought that was very nice! The massage was the best I'd ever had! Albert used perfect pressure the entire time and checked in with me making sure the pressure was alright. After my massage he then did my foot scrub, scalp massage and facial. All very nice and the aromas were amazing! I was so sad when Albert told me that was our time for the day. He stepped out so I could and dressed, and warned me to lift slowly from the table since I had been there for two hours. I very slowly removed myself from the table, and over to my clothes.... I felt like I had taken some kind of drug. I was so relaxed and my body was not prepared to be moving around yet. It took me a minute to get my clothes on. Once dressed a stepped out of my room and there was Albert waiting for me with a refreshing glass of infused citrus water. I then went to the restroom which was occupied so I waited and out walks my best friend. We both look at each other and start giggling. She said "GIRL, I feel like I'm drunk." I responded with "Same, that was the best massage I've ever had, who cares about a steam room, soft robes and a big oversized shower after that!" Well.... I do still care because although it was a fabulous experience and I would recommend and go back. I was wanting it to be a girls day. Without all the amenities we weren't really able to get the full day spa experience. However, even if I found a place in SA that had those amenities I would come back to Dasa. read more

The atmosphere left much to be desired it's not a high end spa which given its location on the river walk I had been expecting. Olga saved my life, while on vacation in San Antonio my lower back was killing me and after finally giving in, I decided to get a massage at this spa because we were staying at the Hyatt. I could barely walk before but after a massage with Olga my lower back pain was gone and I was able to enjoy the rest of my trip. My husband and I scheduled a massage for the weekend since we were celebrating our anniversary in San Antonio. We have massages regularly BUT this was by far the BEST massage we have ever had. Chris was my therapist and he was fantastic. I was having significant back pain and he spent most of the 60 minutes untwisting the knots and realigning my back. He asked throughout the treatment how I was feeling and where there was still pain. My husband had Olga and was very pleased with her as well. Me and my friend received massages from the male massage therapist there and he was amazing, super kind and considerate always asking how's the pressure and if I'm comfortable. From the minute I walked in I was greeted by the lovely Shirley, who assisted me in explaining exactly what I wanted from services. I was served a delicious fruit-infused citrus water and taken back to meet my nail tech., Amanda. She assisted me in finding the perfect color(I'm very indecisive) and started the services. The entire time of my services I was so relaxed, and Amanda knew exactly what to do. My nails looked STUNNING and I was so proud to show them off to everyone I know. My massage therapist, Chris, discussed my issues with me in detail before leaving the room for me to get comfortable. He addressed my hip and lower back pain in addition to a relaxing, satisfying massage with heavenly aromatherapy. He didn't leave my hair greasy. I know that sounds silly, but that matters to me! While in San Antonio for a conference, I desperately needed a shellac manicure. I searched on Yelp (thanks friends!) and thankfully found Dasa since near my hotel. I paid about $75 for a shellac French manicure (including tip) and it was money well spent. Not only was it the best looking mani I've ever had, but the technician (Angel) was great conversation and a lot of fun to spend an hour with. The ambiance was comfortable and relaxing, and the girls at the front desk were very attentive. They also had lots of different herbal teas, coffees, and infused waters. I got a mani-pedi here. The technician was really nice, the seats were comfortable. It was clean and my nails look pretty great. My only problems are: 1) The lady who checked me in was loud and complaining about other customers while I was in the room, WAY UNPROFESSIONAL! 2) Really expensive and not really worth the money.
