My nails are botched completely. Yes. I went in late lastnight and they would have told me to leave I came in around 5:30 they close at 7. I had an inspo picture for my nails and I showed them right away. They were very rude and told me to get the gen base and I didn't understand I told her in the beginning I wanted acrylic and it was ignored. When I got home I assumed the base was fine though the polish wasent so I took off the polish down to the base. The polish was streaky and she didn't do enough coats and you could see the back of the nail on the sides and the base. I had to try my best to reshape them but they were un fixable. Like vibe was very negative and off putting. I didn't like it at all. Walking in I thought it was going to be nice but no. I would not go here again. This salon seems to be confused by basic nail trends and it charges without communicating prices and services. They tacked on $5 to my manicure (which is a steep $35 for Vestal Parkway) without telling me beforehand. I was shocked to see that my manicure was $40 on the receipt. That is an unreasonable price for this area. I digress. The technician was super confused when I asked for an almond shape and the staff talked amongst themselves for a while before someone apparently told her what they are. She filed my nails without saying a single word. No attempt to upcharge, nothing. If I knew how ridiculously they were going to charge, I wouldn't have even gone to that salon. The charge was an in-the-moment, arbitrary decision by "the boss" (according to another employee). I don't appreciate this. Nice, and even your standard, salons do not charge for a simple change in angle in the filing of nails. It is absurd. It seems to me that they were not familiar with the almond shape (pretty common tbh) and arbitrarily decided to charge $5 for it. This is not standard practice at finer salons, and at $40, I would expect a higher level of service for such a simple request. Will not be going back. read more

I have been looking for a new nail salon for months now, and Dashing Queen has by far been the best salon experience I've had in the Binghamton area! It was extremely easy to make an appointment (which is recommended), and my nails came out exactly how I wanted them. The nail tech took her time with my nails, fixing every minor flaw and making sure I liked what she was doing. The salon is very clean, and the prices are reasonable and similar to other salons in the area. I'll definitely be going back!! read more

We drove all over trying to find a CLEAN nail salon that offered more than just a basic pedicure, and that could accommodate two people at the same time with little wait. THANKFULLY Dashing Queen exists and was able to take us within the hour. Dashing Queen is a CLEAN establishment with friendly employees and lots of nice options for a pedicure. The gentleman who worked on my feet was great, although next time I would be a little more specific about where I'd like my calluses worked on because I wound up with abrasions on spots that didn't have calluses when I asked him to use the "grater" more. Overall though we had a nice time and a month later and my toes still have their paint on them, unchipped! We will be back again for more pedicures! read more

Today, 10.26.2014, I had my first bad experience. Of course the person I usually go to was out so I had someone else.... I will not offer up her name because I do not want her to get fired. I've never noticed her here before today. I could have given myself a better pedicure at home with the travel size nail care pack that I have. What she did well: Offered a greeting when I sat down What she did not do well: Everything required of the Lavender Spa pedicure Did not cut my nails properly Did not trim my cuticles properly Did not scrub my callus properly. ... The good: Spotlessly clean and Covid19 preparations were top notch The bad: My daughter and I came as part of a large bridal party and chose gel polish manicures. Their "manicure" doesn't include soaking your nails and pushing the cuticles back. My nail tech did trim a couple of my hangnails but my daughter didn't even get that much. They just cleaned off the old polish and applied new. And speaking of applying new... the gel polish was either applied too heavy or didn't sit under the light long enough. The polish remained soft and peeled within a couple of days. Luckily I had a similar color at home so I could touch them up before the wedding. Upon a recommendation I walked in without an appointment. It may have been the time of day but I was on the pedicure sofa within 5 minutes. They took great care of me both for my pedicure and my manicure. I was told about the powder overlay method of polish from my niece (I can't express how much this is worth it, by the way - and they did a great job. It's more than 3 weeks later and they are still in tact. However, they were so long I had to file them down a bit!) The staff here was very nice and everyone around since I just moved back to this area I mentioned I had just moved and this was a heavenly experience after days on my feet moving boxes. I was in Binghamton for a wedding and needed a quickie mani pedi the day of the wedding. I thought I'd only be able to fit in a pedi or just polish changes but the staff was such a huge help and got me in and out in no time when I let them know I only had 45 min by starting my mani while getting a pedicure. It was extremely clean and they did a great job! $55 for a pedicure and gel manicure and I could tip on my card. They even told me if the gel chipped in the next couple days I could come back and they'd fix it for free. Staff was extremely friendly. This place is super clean and has a HUGE selection of colors to choose from. They also offer SNS though it is a bit expensive. Prices are on-par for the area with a gel manicure costing $30 and a regular manicure is $12. I opted for the gel, however my only complaint was that they did not soak my cuticles before cutting them so it was a bit painful. Also, my nail tech did not seal the edge of my gel manicure well which resulted in it chipping after only 5 days. This place looks really nicely decorated but it is not at all worth your time and money to go here. Went here for a manicure and pedicure. I do not get pedicures just to have my toes painted (I could do that myself) but to have my feet feeling soft and relaxed afterward. They rushed through my pedicure and they have you sit on a hard bench the whole time similar to a restaurant booth. Also during the manicure you get a really awkward 5 minute chair massage. Maybe some find that relaxing but I don't feel very comfortable or relaxed getting a brief shoulder massage in front of everyone. read more

Unless you tryna get finessed don't go. I promise it's a terrible experience. So I came here twice for acrylic nails and both times were a disaster. The first time the lady rushed through my nails so that she could leave as soon as possible. I know the process it takes to get acrylics done and she skipped so many steps. Even the nail polish was put on carelessly. They didn't even let me finish drying my nails afterwards because they were impatient. Regretfully, I returned after 2 weeks, thinking that the past experience was just a one time mess up and went early to ensure the nail artist could take her time. I was wrong. Although she did some of the steps she neglected to do last time, she still messed up in other areas. First of all, I wanted my nails to be long and fleeky and made it clear to her. She kept telling me not to do that but I was like ok???? It's what I want and what I'm paying for????? So she cut the acrylics the length I wanted but filed it so much that it was significantly shorter than what I originally asked for. I'm telling you they're a whole mess. I've been here twice now and each time I've left with a sour taste in my mouth. The first time I went with a friend to get manicures and pedicures. I didn't plan on spending too much money so I wanted a basic mani pedi option. The first thing I got was a pedicure and boy was it disappointing. It lasted all of 10 minutes and the entire time I was being pressured into getting a fancier pedicure and a get all these extra add ons that I wasn't interested in. I asked if my heels could be scrubbed a little firmer to remove the dead skin buildup I had and I was told "that's part of a different package and this is as firm as I will do it." The final straw was when I was asked if I wanted a 10 minute massage, when I said no, I was promptly polished and told to go wait for my manicure. Originally I had planned on getting a gel manicure but I was talked into getting this cool thing called "SNS Nails". It's a great system and only a few more dollars than the gel nails but my issue isn't with the application, it was with my second visit during the removal process. After about 3 weeks with the nails I returned to the salon to get the color removed and just have a basic manicure to let my nails breath. I walked in and my fingers were wrapped with foil. When I mentioned I didn't want SNS nails again, I was given a dirty look and told that the best results happen when you repeat the process (clearly not). My nails were long and healthier than they ever had been. After the polish was removed and I rinsed my hands I was told "can you pay first?" While my nails are being polished on one hand I had to reach into my bag with the other to pay for my manicure mid polish. A second lady returned with my change and said since you're just getting a manicure it's $10, have a nice day. At this point my nails were still being polished and prepped. When I went to dry them I was again prodded and pressured into getting a massage or pedicure as well (my toes were insulted prior to her offering to do them). This place is a very classy, clean,and comfortable environment but there have been too many small things that have happened over the course of my visits that make me not want to return. It seems like if you're not willing to pay big bucks while you're at Dashing Queen they're not interested in providing quality customer service. I don't want to say that they're slightly racist or have an aversion to helping minority patrons but there was a clear difference in the treatment of those of color versus those who were not. Unfortunately they're the only people in Binghamton who do SNS Nails but I will sacrifice a long lasting manicure for better customer service. I don't think I'll be returning anytime soon. read more

Came in to get my nails done for graduation in May. Manager/Owner was so rude and kept telling me she had people with actual appointments she had to take care of that hadn't even come in. Mind you, the place was empty as can be. At one point I wasn't sure what color to get and the owner SCREAMED in my face to hurry up. I've never had a nail salon worker, let alone owner yell at me. I was almost on the verge of tears. Funny thing was they did a horrendous job and the nail job chipped off an hour after I left. I saw the people with appointments walk in. I don't think I've ever gotten a full set that's looked THIS bad and been THIS expensive. My friend and I came in as walk-ins around 2 hours before they closed (enough time for a full set) and they acted like we were still inconveniencing them. Both of us wanted long, acrylic nails in a coffin shape but neither of us got that. The woman quickly told my friend that her real nails couldn't support long acrylics and refused to make them long for her. Hers were actually shaped correctly, but were so short that they look like triangles on her fingertips. The woman who started her nails passed her off to someone else to finish them because she was in such a hurry. Mine on the other hand were done long (extra $5) and I asked for the coffin shape (another $5) but got stuck with what look like bubbled marshmallows. By the time I left, I had white nail polish ALL over my hands and hers too! She drilled that sensitive spot between the nail and the cuticle so hard that it detached and now my skin is literally lifting off my nail bed. With the tip, both me and my friend ended up paying $70 each for our nails and I've never been so disappointed. If you're looking to get any type of acrylics, do not go here. They don't do what you ask at all and we're out $70 for nails that look like we tried to do them ourselves. read more

Got a full gel set and a pedicure before leaving town for my destination wedding. They looked ok but did not hold up. In the first week, 3 nails broke. 3 more broke in the second week. When I returned to complain, the manager took no responsibility for the sub-par work, giving multiple reasons why it was my fault the nails broke, from "you must be too hard, do too much cleaning" to" your nails are oily and they won't take any nails" I have worn acrylics and gels on and off for over 20 years and I have never had a brand new set break like these did. This is the absolute worse place ever! Doesn't even deserve a 1 star. I had the worst experience especially with Tina!!! I went in for a manicure. I sat down to wait and she walked over and sat at a different chair. I said do you want me to move? She proceeded to do my nails. Spoke in Korean really loud and annoying but that wasn't the worst of it. I Ike light colors so I picked a light pink. When she went to put it on. She said clear. I realized that it may have been a little too clear so I asked her very nicely do you think ballet slippers on top would work. She ignored me (clearly heard me) I waited a few seconds and watched her roll her eyes. I then said is that a yes or no? Ignored me again!!! She immediately stopped what she was doing and said and I quote "go get it" like she was angry. I then had to get up and find ballet slippers. I walked back and said ok can't believe you had me get up with wet nails to get it. She said very mean. I tell you clear. I then said this is why I don't come here the service is SO bad. Which is the only thing I did wrong. She very angry grabbed the polish remover and grabbed my hand and started taking my nail polish off and I said it's ok it's ok. She said I give money back. She grabbed my hand so hard. Went and gave me back 12 dollars which wasn't even the full amount because I tipped her! And walked away. The worst business and customer service ever!!!! I arrived to have my nails done without a ton of makeup on to let my face rest. My nail tech proceeded to comment on my acne and tell me it's because I don't wash my face (not true.). She then proceeded to try and peddle her "it works" products. I didn't come in to be insulted and up sold, I came in to get a manicure. Yes I'll come back, but only because they do such a good job. I was passing through the SUNY Bing area and needed to kill some time. I arrived for my appointment, they were ready and I was directed to the pedicure section. The bench was so uncomfortable it seemed silly to pay extra for a massage. I am 5'2" and my feet did not reach the bottom of the foot bath, so my legs were dangling - not very relaxing. The gentleman who was taking care of me seemed as if he had never performed a pedicure. He began pushing and cutting my cuticles without applying cuticle oil. He then remembered the callus remover and spread it on the bottom of my feel and over my toe nails. At that point I stopped him to say I did not think the callus remover belonged on nails. He reached for polish remover to remove the callus remover. I stopped him again to say that was not a good idea and he should simply use water. It then became apparent that he spoke NO English. One of the women who works there started yelling at me that I should just leave, which I had already planned to do. Luckily a very nice manicurist named Amy profusely apologized and asked if it would be OK for her to finish my appointment. She was kind and thorough and saved this review from being completely negative. Suffice it to say I will never go back. thanks to Amy they still go my $100, but they will never get another $ from me. Totally disagree with all reviews that have less than 5 stars!! I make an appointment every two weeks and I am attended to like clockwork!! Everyone there is very friendly and attentive. The prices are competitive with EVERYONE else in this area. I have been to several other nail salons before Dashing Queen, and this is, by far, the cleanest salon I have ever been to. Love the seating area for the pedicure, nice to sit and chat with other customers and is very comfortable!! It is the salons preference if they want to message a man in a private room! People need to remember to treat people how you like to be treated!! They are the best and I highly recommend Dashing Queen. All of the staff do an excellent job :) read more

Mixed feelings about this nail salon. Atmosphere is nice, but I'm not a fan of bench seating for pedicure station. I like to be able to lean back and relax for a pedicure and these benches don't allow that. Staff was telling customers 5 minute wait, mean while there was no tech available for at least 20-30 minutes. I tried to use a gift card and the people working at that time didn't know how to do it so I had to pay cash. Wouldn't have come back a second time but I had to use the gift card. Overall I didn't have bad services but staff weren't very nice and there always seems to be a wait. So-so. read more

When we got there we were told we would be going one at a time instead of all together, because they didn't have enough room for us. Then they allowed 3 people to be helped before us. Once I finally got the plastic nail on on, they made me sit and wait for over 45 minutes before getting them filled. The nails look fine, but I was not impressed with how long the wait was and ended up being late to the rehearsal because they officially said the appointment would take 45 minutes but ended up taking more than twice as long. read more

This business doesn't even deserve a 1 star of how TERRIBLE they were. I decided to give them a try since they were so close to my job. It took them a little over an hour to get a fill completed and I made an appointment. I HATE my nails! They are sloppy! I asked for rounded nails anthey are all different sizes and shapes. She rushed putting the color and within an hour my gel nail polish was peeling off if the chunky nail polish wasn't enough. Went back the next day and changed my polish but again rushed and they are sloppy once again. Told her that one nail was too thick, she gave me an attitude and refused to change it and started speaking another language to her coworker. You can clearly tell they talk about about their customers in a different language, I was so upset I couldn't wait to get out of there. Within it 3 days the nail she replaced fell off! Went in the store and I simply explained to her how unhappy I was that it is taking so many attempts to get them correct and asked for a refund. Instead of apologizing and try to make it right, she completely lost it and kicked me out her store! Made a scene in her place of business in front of her workers & customers.
