Acova is my go to lunch spot on teh North West side of town…read more I have clients up this way and a number in boulder so its an easy place to meet in the middle. It helps that Acova has a nice clean space with plenty of room and manageable noise levels. The service does not miss a beat and the menu is wide ranging enough that it keeps my frequent visits fresh and satisfies any kind of client want.

We thankfully got sat quickly without a reservation. The inside is nice and ambient lighting. It also has an indoor/outdoor bar which I'm sure is great in the summer. I mainly came here because I knew they had tomato basil soup and I was having a strong craving. To start I got the queso fundido because of a place has it on the menu, I must try. I asked if it could be done without meat and our server said no - that it was premade. Honestly, this was just okay queso. Definitely not authentic or anything like actual queso fundido. Would not order again. The soup was good! Not the best I've ever had but definitely good. The only thing was we ordered a soup but didn't specify and got the small size. I would specify a bowl if you want a meal sized portion. The grilled cheese that came with it was tasty! The chicken Caesar wrap was fine. Portion is sorta small but glad it comes with a side. Nothing too special. Overall the place is nice, staff is friendly and food is fine. I wouldn't particularly want to return but if a friend suggested, I'd give it another shot.

Acova - The eggs were so good - a must order. Each egg half had a creamy whipped filling of fresh deviled yolk mixture with a pinch of spice.

We have recently started buying the entrees. Wow! Can't say enough good things about them. My…read morefavorite is the Classic Meatloaf. 2nd is a variety of Italian dishes; pizza, calzone, & baked ziti (combo cream and tomato sauce) with sausage. I love basically anything with their marinara sauce in it. The flavor is fantastic! 3rd is probably the bagels with the Everything bagel and the 3 Cheese bagels being my top two. Although the Jalapeño and Cheese bagel is up there if I could tolerate the spice. After that I love the Orange Chicken. It is breaded chicken with great orange sauce that I add stir fry veggies to. Sweet and Sour Chicken is good also. Can't forget to mention the delicious enchiladas which I eat with a salad to make more of a taco salad. For most things we add our own veggies to make a complete meal. The cooking instructions have been good except we've had trouble getting the pizza crust to cook through. What seems to work after much trial and error is 20 min. at 425 in our oven style airfryer on the metal pan. Pizza should look fully cooked and cheese browning in the center. Remove, add our own toppings and then 10 more min. at 425. The second bake could probably be longer so I will try that next time. Pic attached of the end result pizza. While the very outside of the crust gets a little charred the bottom is fine and this second bake seems to help get the crust cooked. Did a calzone this morning and since it is prebaked the heating instructions worked just fine. It was deliciously crisp and could be eaten as a finger food. We also liked the spaghetti and meatballs with garlic bread but the garlic bread isn't wrapped well in the foil so was soggy. The apple bacon french toast was fantastic but I would prefer no bacon on it. The bacon is thick cut so just ends up being soggy. Apple topped french toast alone would be A+. In terms of other sweets I can't have Xanthan Gum so am limited to their donuts and danishes. The filled donuts are excellent but the regular, while not being cake style (which is a plus) have a taste to the grease that I don't care for. The filled are fried the same but because of the delicious filling you don't taste the grease. The danishes are a favorite but they all come with cheese filling in addition to the fruit so make sure you choose a fruit that goes with their cheesecake like cheese filling. I had gotten tired of eating my own food and am so happy that I have Blue Hummingbird's entrees to fall back on.

Ended up getting a strawberry rhubarb pie, pumpkin pecan pies and a variety of cupcakes. Their Strawberry Rhubarb pie was our favorite. The pumpkin pecan pie seemed to stick to the pan so it is difficult to get a nice piece cut. In my opinion it was a bit pricey but glad they were there!

I should visit on the week d as they serve waffles then that looked interesting. Ordering was fairly simple and pay stations easy. Service was fairly fast and our little group enjoyed our visit. Food for the young and older. One of the owners asked if our "sweet potato" filling was cooked enough and offered to redo it? We didn't have any taste issues so this transparency was welcomed and noticed. Our friends who were local loved it and for me it was a nice change. Want fresh, fragrant, delicious flavors created in small batches then visit here because this team knows how to create a quality product. Tasty, good prices, and local.

When we eneterd the restaurant the gentleman at the register was really helpful and pointed out that the whole 30 version of the menu item can greatly differ from the description often removing items. For example, if you are looking forward to the chicken and dumplings, beware if you select the whole 30 option NO DUMPLINGS. My salad had lots of ingredients, however, the whole 30 version only had beets and almond flour feta (which was delicious, ps) but a lack luster salad. I'm not sure why they wouldn't replace the pickled onions in the salad with fresh onions so it didn't look as sad. The green chili wasn't spicy (which is probably good for some) and was cumin forward. Not bad. Matt enjoyed it, although it had the vegan cheese wiz, which I am pretty sure shouldn't have been on the whole 30 option- we picked it out. The Buffalo cauliflower was an excellent portion and was good! The vegan ranch was watery and not what we expected, but also not bad. Spicy options for those of you like me are chaloula and I saw them with Frank's red hot, but you will have to ask the kitchen for it. It was cozy inside and as I mentioned the service was good. However, I'm not sure we would go back until they have a menu change.
