It's a shame that this business has good services to offer, but one short-tempered, impatient and belligerent employee named Jeff who turns customers away. Jeff claimed that he was the only one who would be able to fix my boss' Apple computer when I first brought it in (which obviously isn't true). Jeff doesn't want to be held accountable for his work, doesn't like answering to others (especially to a female half his age), but rather wants to hold his customers hostage and work at his own desired pace. I'm sure he has the skillset to get the work done, but his "high and mighty" attitude and hostility are completely unacceptable. If he's the store manager, this place desperately needs to be put under new management with Jeff placed in the back to do what he can do best with a screwdriver. 1) On first visit to drop off my computer, he demanded I give him my phone to speak to my boss because he didn't like me mediating the conversation. (Chauvinism is nothing new.) 2) He accused me of calling the store too often (20 times to be exact) and impeding progress of his work. The truth? I called twice to check on the status of a system backup when he said it would be ready for pickup. The second time he didn't even answer the phone (they have caller ID). 3) He was exceptionally hostile when I went to pickup my backup drive; rolling his eyes at me when I walked in, refused to fix my computer saying we're not giving him enough time to do his work and calling the store too often, raising his voice and yelling at me, and interrupting me and shaking his head when I was trying to ask him questions, refusing to even look at me while I was talking. Again, my advice for this business is to find a replacement for this man and put him in a job that better suits his personality. read more

Brought my laptop and it was still under warranty after the company said it was not a hard drive problem. The tech inspected my laptop and said yes it is your hard drive do not listen to them insist on them covering the warranty part. So after a week-long back-and-forth argument with Dell I did get my free replacement hard drive and installed it myself. I completely respected the techs at Data Doctors for letting me know it absolutely was a hard drive problem that was covered by the warranty and not a negligent use problem as Dell was insisting it was. read more

CUSTOMER SERVICE IS TERRIBLE! I brought my computer in with a fairly simple operation, the power supply unit needed to be replaced. This is something I would normally handle myself, but as this is a computer I need for my business, I decided to let "professionals" handle and diagnose everything. I brought it in to Data Doctors, and happily paid the extra fees to have my parts over-nighted in so that I could have my computer back the next day. I dropped the computer off WED morning, and waited. After no communication at all on Thursday, I stopped by before closing time. My parts were not there, my computer was NOT done. Friday came and went, with ZERO COMMUNICATION, again. Saturday, I called to check on it, the employee had zero information. He didn't know where the part was, and couldn't even tell me when they expected it to arrive. After some calls to his "boss", he ascertained that my parts "should" be there by next Tuesday, almost a week later than my drop off date. At this point I am fully irritated, so I drive down to the shop to pick up my still broken computer. I arrive to the shop on Saturday during their posted business hours to find a sign on the door stating they were "out to lunch", so I got to wait ANOTHER 30 minutes for this company to quit screwing around. Moral of the story: I took my computer home, ordered the new part straight from DELL, and had the part over-nighted here Monday morning for $40 LESS than data doctors wanted to sell it to me for, not including their evaluation fees. Communication is an important to any business, Data Doctors failed miserably. read more

Worst computer company I have ever been to,dropped my sons laptop off for a basic repair was told it would cost $59 when we went in to pick it up they wanted another $105. The keyboard only costs $29! Complete bait and switch, and on top of all that they couldn't even find screws to properly complete the job. Do not trust these guys read more

I have been taking my laptop into Data Doctor for about the last two years. I trust Jeff, the Mgr. at the Deer Valley facility, explicitly. Less so some of the other employees who gave me incorrect information over the phone. It does seem to take quite a while to get my laptop back but they always fix what is wrong. Their warranty program is good, as well. I really recommend them if you are having problems. read more
