The food here is always amazing. Whether you dine in or carry out, it's always prepared perfectly and presented beautifully. Yesterday we dined in. We started with the calamari and nau nam tak rolls as appetizers. The calamari was lightly breaded with a delicate yet crunchy texture and their house sauce is flavor, a blend of sweet and savory that's unique. The combination of fresh ingredients in the nau nam tak rolls and the beautiful presentation is always a family favorite. The hot beef with the cold vegetables combined with the sauce is a must try. We each ordered our favorite dishes. The Tom Kha soup is truly the best I've ever had and I eat this soups about 3-4 times a year as I travel around the US. Theirs is always perfectly seasoned, the vegetables and meat are fresh, then cut into the perfect size unlike other places where it's too large or too small. I decided to try the Sweet Daughter Thai fried rice instead of the usual basil fried rice and I definitely found a new favorite. The portions are generous without being wasteful. The shrimp and chicken were fresh and plentiful. I love that their veggies always have the perfect sear on them- every time and every dish. The pineapple was subtle but added a great flavor profile with the sweet and acidic tastes blending well into the vegetables. The pho noodle soup is one of my wife's favorites and it didn't disappoint. The crispy duck also hit a home run with my son. Pad Thai shrimp was perfect as always. The dining room is quaint and always meticulously cleaned. I love their serving plates and soups cups- amazing charm that completes the overall vibe. You feel like you're eating in a favorite aunt's kitchen. The owner and the young girl (I think it's her daughter) were amazing with the service. In the hour we were there they never stopped coming by to refill drinks or ask if we needed anything. Quick with smiles and they took got our order right the first time like always. In the end we spent about $40 per person but that included appetizers for all and shrimp upgrades for protein. We just ate at the neighboring 1836 Taproom a week ago and paid far more for garbage food with mediocre service. Daughter Thai will be getting all of our business from now on when eating dinner in Lovettsville. They are truly the best food in town with a wonderful family, great atmosphere and consistently amazing food at good prices. We are truly lucky to have this place in our town!! read more

This area is actually Virginia, in a confluence of three states where VA would have been my last guess if I woke up here wondering where I was. This restaurant is separate from the downtown stretch and has an airy interior with plenty of light. It is notable for having a vegan-friendly menu. My tofu was deep-fried and quite crispy and I enjoyed it texturally. I didn't ask them for the highest spice level; the default was noticeable but I'd ask for more if I had another shot at it. After being told that the other tea drinks were powder-based and the Thai iced tea was freshly made, I opted for that and it was a robustly flavored way to wash things down. Harpers Ferry and the surrounding area doesn't have a ton of places like this, so crossing state lines was easily worthwhile for me. read more

I have been very happy with the quality of the food and the service of this small Thai restaurant. It is family owned and operated. The restaurant is small and cozy but quite nicely decorated and feels fancy for a small space. Of course, the food is delicious. I am a particular fan of dunken noodles which are firm, not mushy like some other places, the flavor is perfect for my palate. You can ask them for Thai spicy or American spicy or mildish to suit your heat tolerances. My friend loves their Thai curries. The prices are fair and in line with the other restaurant options in Lovettsville. It actually is a wonderful small town with many very good food options, so if a day drive into the country is something you want to do, this restaurant is one of several very good options to satisfy your cravings of the moment. There is a pretty limited selection of places to eat in town, but we are fortunate to have DaughterThai as one of them. Its tucked into a small house right off the main street, but does have a decent size seating area once you get inside. There is plenty of parking in the rear. The staff was very friendly and our order was ready quickly. The basil rice and chicken dish was excellent- just enough spice and flavor without burning your mouth apart. Its a spot that quickly was added to the available rotation for dinners in the area. read more

I was very excited to try this well-rated Thai restaurant during our stay in Lovettesville, and I really enjoyed the food! The food was very fresh, piping hot, and flavorful. My favorite was the Tom Kha soup. Of the food we ordered, the Tom Kha stood out as especially delicious. The rest of the dishes were solid but not stand-out amazing. I enjoyed the red curry with tofu. My partner loved the shrimp taco appetizer. He thought the crispy shrimp pad Thai was just okay. The prices were high for the dishes. One weird thing on the menu is that the basic Red Curry is marked as $15, but if you want veggies or tofu it's $2 extra?? Normally veggies or tofu are included in the base price and then maybe shrimp would be extra. Why not just put the base price at $17? Either way, $17 dollars is expensive for curry with tofu. However, the portions were very big. We couldn't finish our meals. Overall, a good restaurant, a solid 4/5. read more

After our favorite Thai spot (Aiyara) closed and our second favorite (Patama) closed for a month, we figured we'd try this spot to see how it compares. The online ordering system is nice and easy to use and the prices are reasonable. We got our order to go. We'll start with the good: the crab wontons are the best we've ever had! We devoured them as we unpacked the rest of the meal. Packed with cream cheese and crab and still hot and crunchy after bringing it home to Hillsboro! The rest of the order, however, was a bit lacking in seasoning. My husband got the crispy duck and it was nice and crispy, but the batter was unseasoned. He said the chili garlic sauce saved it. I had pork and chicken pad see ew. The dish was cooked to perfection but so bland. I ended up adding some dark soy to jazz it up. The papaya salad was more salad than papaya. It needed some lime juice or some kind of dressing as it was really dry. Overall, I'm willing to give them another try and get other dishes on the menu to see how they are. I just wish they could steal Aiyara's BBQ pork recipe so I can feed this empty hole in my stomach since they closed. read more

I got the regular Green curry with chicken and wow... there are no words. A classic Curry dish done right. There's about a million options available between the menu so it can get a little overwhelming, but you really can't go wrong. Not much else to say besides go see for yourself! When this place first opened as Thaiverse the food was very good. My family and I would do takeout here once a week. After they changed hands though the food got progressively worse so I stopped going. Yesterday was Chinese New Year so I decided to give it another try. As I picked up my order I asked if they had changed chefs since the front of the house folks had changed, I was disappointed when they said no but had an open mind. When I got home and we tried the food it was inedible, I threw my Daughter Thai Special Noodles in the trash, my son's sweet and sour chicken which according to the menu was supposed to have breaded chicken and it was not and the taste was terrible. Every dish was half-assed at best. You NEVER need to eat here, I now understand why they only had one table on Chinese New Year. Very nice people no doubt but that does not offset the lack of ability in the kitchen...ugghhh, I still have a nasty taste in my mouth from that food... read more

I ordered food from here at 5:45 in the evening and it took them 4 hours for them to deliver, and they even got my order wrong. Tried calling the restaurant after 90 minutes... "your order will be there in 30 minutes", after an hour "wait another 30 minutes", after another hour they had turned off their phone and the restaurant closed. They took care of every other customer for 4 hours while neglecting my order, and they gave me the wrong thing. Looks like other customers have had similar experiences. I checked out this place on my way to visit some wineries. The Tom yum soup was hands down the best Tom yum I've ever had. I ordered it with medium spiciness and that was perfect. Any spicier and I probably would've had a hard time eating it. I also ordered the friend shrimp tempura wrapped in wonton. It was okay but not the best. They gave you 5 shrimps and at $9, I think it was a bit pricey. Finally I had the pad see eaw noodle with pork as my entree. It was pretty tasty and the noodles were perfectly cooked. This is a charming little Thai diner in downtown Lovettsville. There's not much in the way of frills here, but the prices are a good bit higher than I expected for a casual Thai restaurant. I went in twice for during lunch and was surprised the lunch specials were all $10 for the entree only and $5 more for soups. That may sound like a reasonable value, but that's about $2-3 more than most Thai lunch specials. The food here, however did not disappoint. The first time I went, I had red curry chicken, which is the best comparative dish between Thai restaurants. It was decidedly one of the best red curries I've ever had. Lots of flavor without skimming on the proteins. The second time, I had pad kee mow, which was also fantastic. Service here was attentive and pleasant. Thai iced coffee and appetizers were good, but the entrees were just okay. I preferred the pork shumai over the crab and pork alternative. The tom kha had lots of aromatics, but I would probably try shrimp instead of chicken next time. Skip the crispy basil duck; while the tamarind sauce is nice and the fat is fully rendered, only the basil is crispy and the duck is cooked to medium well with its half-bird presentation. My review is for takeout only. I would call it good Thai food, not outstanding but good. Prices are a bit high and/or portions a bit small, including rice, compared to my other favorite ethnic restaurants. The thing that I don't like about takeout is if you order more than $35 of food, they MAKE you take a can of soda that they keep in a little cooler by the front desk, claiming it's a $2 value. Thing is I hate soda and you can't even get bottled water. Frankly I think that's kinda tacky for a restaurant charging so much for the food. Just ditch the soda and lower prices by $2. read more

Memorable Massaman Curry! My friend and I orders takeout from Thaiverse recently and it was very good! Here are the highlight: COVID-19 procedures in Place? Check.. Staff were wearing masks and offered to bring out food on arrival. Note, the restaurant is a house, it's well marked but you may not be expecting a house so keep that in mind The food: Entree. Massaman curry was outstanding! Very flavorful with the right degree of sweetness from the coconut milk base. The potatoes in the curry were great as were the flavor of the peanuts. My only disappointment was the beef was overcooked. Appetizer: Calamari was cooked just right but it was sans its breading, which had crumbled away from the squid. Still very tasty. I'm going to be all over the place with this review. I also got carry out, so can't vouch for service. Our food was good. I ordered it mild and it came spicy, but whatever--I'm used to that. Our food was delicious, no problem there either. Here are my downsides-- My food was a small portion, and looked a lot like Chinese rather than Thai. Lots of large chunked vegetables (in a dish that doesn't usually have vegetables )so they seemed like filler, but still tasty. Biggest complaint? Dear lord in heaven, their prices are ASTRONOMICAL!! RIDICULOUS!! $12 for an appetizer? 8 bucks for a cup of soup? I can only guess that they get away with it out here because there's only one other Thai place and I was told it wasn't good. But holy cow, lower the price or enlarge the portions! Paying $22 for an entree at lunchtime is a bit excessive. read more

Went to Daughter Thai today with a friend. I live just 2 miles away and we thought it'd be a great change. Oh my!!! The food was amazing!! It's very sad that at lunchtime we were the only two there. The place is seriously understaffed. On the day we went, there was one person to handle takeout and wait tables, and so we were sitting at the table waiting while the gentleman handled the numerous takeout orders. It was also annoying that these people waiting on takeout are standing around talking in loud voices (it's a small restaurant) while we are sitting at our table. It kind of ruined the atmosphere. The food was tasty but definitely overpriced; they charge extra for all proteins which I find annoying. Consequently, every order had an upcharge. The portions were on the smaller side when compared to the price. While I enjoyed my food and the staff was very nice, I just can't justify the prices when I can go elsewhere for equally good Thai food. read more

Interesting place. It's a little trailer that serves Thai food. Looks like there's probably a lot more carry out than dine in. Anyway, it wasn't bad but fairly overpriced. Service was decent. I think it's worth a trip if you're in the area, but wouldn't say it's must visit. Unfortunately I was too hungry and forgot to take pictures. We ordered the Som Tumm (papaya salad), duck, and green curry with beef. The salad was fresh and had heat, but not to the point of being painful, which is often the case for this dish. The duck was pretty tender and flavorful, but there were a couple tough pieces. The curry was good as well - your regular green curry with coconut, veggies, and meat.
