PANANG DUCK!!!! My family came for dinner before a play and loved every dish. The panang duck was incredible while the beef and drunken noodle was much appreciated by my husband. Our server was very attentive, making sure we had everything we needed. She made recommendations and even suggested pairings. We enjoyed the food so much we didn't take pictures. The space is small so reservations are recommended. It's beautifully decorated too!

Lots of parking. We were greeted as soon as we walked in and seated right away. The place was very clean and cozy. We only did appetizers but will definitely be back for Entrees. Food was good.

We frequent this place quite often for takeout but a couple times we've had issues and when they can't get the rice correct and you have to cook your own rice so they're spending $40 it's really a shame. I called the restaurant and the responses oh well sometimes we add too much water to the rice no kidding. Then ypu can't get the rice correct its a problem.

This cozy restaurant is so nice! My friends and I took a spontaneous road trip to Finn Thai. We are from Maryland and took the hour and change journey for some delicious Thai cuisine. My friend had been there a few times already and loved it! We all dined in and ordered extra meals to take home. The ambiance is sooo cozy! Very warm and inviting. The decor was rather quaint, with old books lining the walls. The waitress was very kind and hospitable. We all started with soups, as it was quite cold outside. Two of us had the Tom Kha while another had the lemon grass soup. It was so Devine! The flavors of the soups showed the time and effort it took to simmer everything together. All three of us had the lobster fried rice. It was quite tasty, although the lobster didn't taste super duper fresh (if you ever had a top notch lobster roll, you'd understand what I'm saying). But I do want to stress that it was pretty good. One of my friends got the ginger beef. I didn't taste it, but you could tell that it was so tender and perfect. I would definitely order that when we go again! For my to-go dish, I ordered pad Thai. I read somewhere that pad Thai should be eaten fresh. I should've ate that dish at the restaurant because when I warmed it up the next day, it wasn't palatable at all. The noodles were disappointingly dry. This wasn't the restaurant's fault, though. I just know that I'll eat pad Thai fresh from now on. All in all, the ambiance of this place will make you fall in love. The people were warm and friendly. If you want to take a little trip to VA for some tasty Thai cuisine, by all means, go to Finn Thai first!

Finn Thai was a great experience for us. We eat Thai fairly often, and this ranked right up there with the best. My Panang Curry Chicken was excellent, chicken was tender and plentiful, peanut sauce was a great balance of sweet and heat. My wife and daughter both had Pad Thai and really liked it...noodles were cooked just right, generous amounts of chicken/shrimp, seasoning just right. Prices are a bit high, but overall we definitely would return.

I haven't been there for dinner in about a year or so, but used to be a frequent customer in years past. The food now is sub-par and has little to no flavor. The expansive menu we once knew has been trimmed down into banal meals every other place in town serves. The portions are weak and to be quite honest, the quality of the dining experience as a whole was underwhelming. Old favorites like the fried green tomatoes just don't hit the same anymore. The crab cakes I added to my caesar salad tasted like they had been fried in oil that had been sitting for days. The salad itself wasn't anything to write home about either, I received a salad on the same level as something you'd get from Apple Bees. Parmesan Truffle French fries were soggy and sodden with that same acrid oil I mentioned before. The list goes on, but I'm going to stop here. We did end up asking if there was a manager around to voice our concerns to, but the waitress said she didn't know where the manage was. Interesting. We paid and left, never to return. I'm not trying to be harsh here, I am actually very disappointed to see this happen to a place that once was a local gem, maybe it's a sign of the times. It's alarming how restaurants are operating on this level and still getting customers. But you don't have to take my word for it, go find out yourself! **Just before I posted this I saw they have a new owner and chef...

The lacquered salmon wasn't at its best this time, but it was still pretty good. Their assortment of desserts is always well presented, and everything on the buffet stays fresh. The staff constantly comes back to refill the trays with eggs, bacon, fruit, cheeses, and plenty of other choices. I heard the Belgian waffles were a little heavier and not as light as usual, but I typically avoid waffles at an all-you-can-eat brunch anyway--they're mostly filler. If waffles trip your trigger, though, they're there. It's a little pricey, but if you stick with the beef and fish and have a couple of good platefuls, you'll leave full and feeling like you got your money's worth. Magnolias continues to be a dependable choice for a family brunch.

Accordingly, I recommended it to my parents for a special meal, and round two was not as good. We were sat upstairs, which detracted from the ambience substantially, but worse was our server. From the moment she greeted us, we could tell she did not want to be there. She brought red wine in white wine glasses and a bread basket with only three pieces to a table of four people. I pointed this out and requested more bread, so that each of us could have a piece, but she never returned with more as she agreed to do. (Eventually a different server brought us more bread upon second request.) After food was served, I don't recall seeing her to check in until we'd finished eating. Absolutely unacceptable when you're waiting on a table that's putting down more than $250 before tip. Food wise, pretty happy. Fried green tomato was good; pincaha was salty but well cooked (chimichurri overpowering); duck was nice; and pastas were rich. I'd be back but specify that I want a table on the main floor, not upstairs between the bathroom and kitchen. I'd also be on the lookout for the redheaded waitress with the chip on her shoulder.

According to one of the lovely staff,"Bia" means food in Irish, in case you were curious. They have a full bar with lots of quality spirits to choose from. The beer selection is all draught, no bottled beer. We decided to share some appetizers with our drinks. We ordered PEI mussels, champagne peppercorn patè and fried calamari. All the appetizers were excellent. The patè was presented nicely with accoutrements of fig jam, cornichon, macerated tomatoes and bread. The mussels were offered in a Thai curry sauce but we asked for another serving option due to an allergy concerns. They offered us a white wine and garlic option and we gladly took it. The mussels were cooked very well, the flavor was clean and mild but could have used stronger seasoning, The fried calamari was executed perfectly. It was crispy, tender, flavorful with zero greasiness. The garlic tomato aioli accompanied the dish well. We shared the beef medallions as our entree and a side of fries because I spotted a server carrying fish and chips and the steak fries style potatoes were speaking to me. The steak was tender and flavorful and the Demi glaze brought the dish together. The fries were crispy and salty and wonderful, I'm glad I was inspired. The homemade thick‑cut chips were excellent, but the cheese sauce had no flavor and there wasn't nearly enough of it. All the bacon bits were clustered in one corner, leaving most of the dish bland. I ordered the "signature" short rib ravioli. While the presentation was nice, the pasta itself was tough, and the filling was a grey paste with no trace of meat or flavor. The capicola and prosciutto were similarly disappointing -- so underseasoned that we had to ask for salt and pepper just to make them taste like anything. Overall, a great-looking restaurant with friendly service, but the kitchen needs serious attention.
