Tried ThaiTastic in Ashburn and it hit the spot. We got Pad See Ew, Pad Thai, and Yellow Curry, everything was fresh, super flavorful, and basically gone in minutes. Pad See Ew was the standout, smoky and perfectly done noodles. Pad Thai was solid and the curry was rich and comforting. Quick heads up, "low spice" still brings some real heat here. Not a bad thing, just don't trust it if you're spice sensitive. Overall really good Thai food with big flavors and good portions. I came here for lunch with a friend who visits the restaurant frequently. As soon as we stepped in, the owner was very welcoming and made all the customers feel special and satisfied. I ordered the fried rice with chicken. It was extremely delicious, I couldn't stop eating! My friends also were happy with their food selections as well. The portions are generous and decently priced considering the area. This is located in the back across from Qdoba. Truly a hole in a wall location that many people frequent! Seats filled up fast for dinner. We ordered quite a bit from the menu: Chicken tom yum, shrimp wonton soup, kanom jeeb, soft shell crab with chili basil sauce, and coconut ice cream. We have only experienced this restaurant from a delivery only, but have to note the food order comes complete, nothing missing! But the real setup is their selections, their vegetable spring roll has to hand made, it's amazing as were other appetizers. Next are two of the standard dishes from other Thai restaurants, and yet Thaitastic hands down just crushes the competition on the beef drunken noodle and green curry selections. We order it Thai hot and that is wonderful in that it's spicy but not overwhelming and retains its amazing flavors. This place is not easy to find, tucked away behind a strip mall close to Harris Teeter. The restaurant itself is small and modestly setup. Definitely OK to eat in, but there were a lot of customers picking up take out food. I have been here a few times and would say it is the best Thai restaurant in Ashburn by a mile. It does not have the location or decor of the more well known places, but it makes up for it with friendly staff and timely, flavourful food. My wife had drunken noodles with chicken and it came out in 5 minutes, hot and with freshly made noodles. Fantastic flavour. I ordered the Gai Sapp Ka-pow - Thai Hot (as usual) and it was served with jasmine rice. Fantastic flavours from both dishes. Oh and they serve a scoop of yummy cococut ice cream as a free dessert. Walked in when they first opened and I was the first customer there. The service was really nice. They greeted and asked me through all my meal if I needed anything else and how the food was. I got a Thai tea which was fine. It just tasted like the generic Thai tea. I got the pad Thai and pannag curry lunch special that came with a side of vegetable dumplings for only $15. The pad Thai was slightly sweet for my taste, but the pannag curry was perfect slightly spicy, and the coconut flavor was strong. Overall it's an amazing deal for what you get. The mango sticky rice had more warm coconut milk than I was used to but the texture of the sticky rice was amazing! I would get it from here again. The sour from the mango not being ripe ripe balances out the sweetness of the coconut milk with the sticky rice! The crispy duck was very crispy and had a sweeter taste to it! I got introduced to this place by some family who lives near by. They were going multiple times a week it was so good and I see why. Thaitastic is tucked away in Ashburn Commons Plaza, around the corner near Jersey Mike's. Their restaurant is not too big, about 4-5 tables and a bar. The staff here is very friendly but you can tell they are always slammed with take out orders. We've visited multiple times and tried a bunch of things. The Thai Iced Coffee and Lychee Thai Iced Tea's drinks that must be tried. Every dish we've had are must gets. Sure the Pad Thai, Yellow Curry, and Tom Yum Soup are great but the Crying Tiger and Crispy Duck with Chili Basil Sauce were our favorites. You know a place is great when they tuck it into a corner so that (1) the people who want to find it will find it and (2) their overhead cost is not taken up by rent. Thaitastic is a great place where their curries, noodles, and rice dishes are all great. Throw any protein in there with the crying tiger sauce and it's delectable. We noticed a new Thai restaurant tucked behind Moby and Jersey Mike's in Ashbrook Commons Plaza, Ashburn. We started with Summer rolls with shrimp served with not your normal peanut sauce: warm and rich. Upon Yelp check in, rather than one Thai tea (sweet and delicious ) we were treated to Two as first time welcome! Nice touch and great in extinguishing some of the very hot dishes we were about to enjoy. Lemon grass soup with sea food: fire in the hole - three peppers are exactly what they are said to be, but delicious once extinguished. Mainly broth albeit very tasty The main dish was a perfectly crispy fried whole Flounder: not an ounce of grease just crispy crunchy huge fish ( see pic). Rice was served with sweet chili garlic sauce with s touch of heat. This was enough for two of us. While we picked on the Flounder, our server treated us again this time to delicious vegetable dumplings: hot and crisp on the outside very delicate inside. Since the theme of the dinner was fried, we ended it with fried banana and ice cream ( see pic). Probably gained 2lbs each but definitely worth it: banana was freshly fried and arrived hot and crisp. I think this might be the BEST Thai food in the DMV. Not only was their food ah-mazing, but their service was also top tier. I love how attentive and friendly the staff was. They were always smiling and quick to fulfill any request we had, like when I asked for some chilli oil. They noticed how much I loved the peanut sauce that came with the chicken satay, so our server came out with another bowl of it (I didn't ask for it, but it was much appreciated). My glass of water was always full and they checked up on us multiple times. Seriously, I cannot say enough good things about the service! They also gave us a delicious complimentary dessert at the end. Now, onto the fantastic food. I loved every single thing I tried! Each dish was amazing and I can't think of any flaws. The roti canai came with soft and flaky roti with a flavorful curry. The chicken satay was moist and their sauce was scrumptious. The pad thai was superb; the best I've ever had in this area.
