We have friends over pretty often and Winston being his happy self would get way too excited and then jump on our friends, and then smother them on the sofa. We had to resort to physically holding him back with a harness. I'm 225lb and tall and he was still a handful. We decided to work with Towse because of all of their awesome reviews and after speaking with Eliza on the phone I knew he was in great hands! What they were able to do with Winston in two weeks of board and train is amazing! Winston is now able to sit, lay down, place (go lay down on his bed), as well as heel. Our biggest issue was the jumping and he no longer jumps on friends either. We had a lot of fun working with Nate and Eliza and even got to take Winston to Lowe's to train around all of the distractions which was awesome. Our tool of choice is the e-collar and slip leash. This combination makes it so you don't need to be constantly tugging or pulling your dog around physically to correct behaviors (like jumping). We recently had friends over and Winston is night and day different. He didn't jump on them and he calmed down much quicker than normal. We even took him on a 30 minute walk and he heeled the entire time. We've taken him to Lowe's numerous times on our own just for fun and to work around distractions. He's doing amazing. She was food aggressive, she was aggressive with our family - bit all of us at least once - attacked our other two dogs and literally went to the bathroom wherever she preferred. I'm not one to give up on dogs but knew that if we kept her we needed help! We decided that if we were going to work with one of our dogs - we'd also work with our other naughty dog to retrain him of his bad habits. IN THE FIRST SESSION we saw significant changes in their behavior! She is so knowledgeable, so professional, and she got my kids involved so they know what to do! He fully owned the issues I had and followed up to help. They were able to find the toys (they had accidentally gone home with the wrong family, which I'm sure happens from time to time). I was offered a full refund and left the conversation with Raul expressing a sincere hope to improve my experience in the future. All that said I would try again at this location. ---------------------------------------------------- I went on a short weekend trip and brought my dog here for boarding. My dog is still learning and very over-stimulated by other dogs so we knew going into it we would be doing the private room boarding. We asked to see the room before we left and the staff member seemed hesitant to show us - I think maybe because they were still cleaning it up. The private room is just a concrete room the size of a larger closet, but we brought his dog bed and toys and stuff and didn't see an issue with it because it was way better than a kennel or something. Reasons for the low rating: - Lost toys: We dropped him off with a bag of food/treats, a dog bed, and a bag of his favorite toys (tug rope, football, 3 bones). When we picked him up, they had lost the bag of toys. We are a bit frustrated, as dog toys can be expensive. During the last day of his boarding, apparently our dog ripped up his dog bed to shreds. I am not blaming that on Mak Pack...my dog can be a little destructive especially if stressed or bored. But it did make me wonder if he had his toys with him in the room at any point. Since the toys were lost, maybe he didn't have anything to chew on and ended up ripping up his bed. - Poor communication. We were told we would get daily "pupdates". We dropped him off on Friday morning and did not hear anything until Saturday afternoon. Since this was his first time boarding, I reached out through the text number on their website multiple times and never got a response. The update we did finally get was very brief. He looked scared in the picture (which to be fair is expected) and the note said he was happy and getting lots of attention. I would have liked more detail - did he play with other dogs? did he behave? Is he eating normally? etc...I understand there are a lot of dogs so staff is probably busy but that communication would go a long way. - No bathroom - everything is indoor so there's no designated place to relieve themselves. In the private room they are let out about 4 times a day. When I picked him up on Sunday he immediately relieved himself outside as if he had been holding it in all day.
