It has been a good 12 years since I have been to a Dave and Buster's. We went last night for a congratulations celebration. Dave and Buster's is huge. If you are not sure where you are going, I suggest stopping at the front desk. They were friendly, and can help with anything. There are private room, the restaurant, gaming area and bars. A rewards program is available. It is an app, that may be signed up for before arriving. We were told it may only be signed up for on a phone/ online, not with reception. Our party ended up being thirteen people. We walked up to the restaurant at 7:15pm, on a Friday night, and they had us seated in about 5 minutes. We had not made reservations, and I am not sure if they are available. The decor of the restaurant was more upscale than I was expecting. I was expecting more of a Buffalo Wild Wings. The decor made the night seem a little nicer. Our server was easygoing and fun. He had no problems keeping up with a larger group. For me, the food is where they fell short. My Crispy Nashville Style Hot Chicken was anything but. It looked as if the breading had been peeled off the chicken. What remained was a soggy, flour like film on top. Chicken was dry. I think they were biscuits on top of the chicken. They had the texture of cupcakes. The sides were there. My husband's Cabo chicken was dry as well. One of the children's burgers was dry. On the flip side. Anyone in our party who ordered an appetizer as an entree loved what they had. If we go back, I will probably go that route. I am wondering if two different parts of the kitchen prepare appetizers and entrees. The quality was night and day. Lots of games. Money is put on a reusable card. All the games take an odd number of credits, for example 9.6, so there will always be a small remaining balance on the card. The card also keeps track of any tickets won on a game. Physical tickets are only dispensed if you have a problem with a game and one of the employees has to give you a free game. That happened once in our case. The employee was quick to help. There are various promotions that give you additional credits based on how much you spend. They also have a happy hour game time. I believe it is only on weekdays but I could be wrong. No prize counter here. There is an entire little store of prizes. We had lots of fun on our visit. The restaurant wasn't pushing us out, and they told us that we could take our drinks into the gaming area as we were paying. Service was great. Prices on food were decent. If I order an appetizer as an entree I have a feeling this would be a 4 start review. Unfortunately, those of us who ordered entrees were underwhelmed with our food. I have never experienced service this terrible in my life. My husband and I are actually still in shock today and keep thinking that maybe we were on a hidden camera show. Our waitress was the most unprofessional, ignorant human I have ever met. She wore a plastic chicken leg around her neck and started off telling us that she wears that so when someone tries to leave her a bad review on Yelp that the manager won't take the review seriously because no one is crazy enough to wear a chicken leg around their neck...we have no idea what that means but after she told that story it took her almost an hour to come back and take our food order, no joke, an hour! No apologies and then took part of our tables' order and left without taking the last two people at our table. They had to go find her and again no apology. Our food did come out quickly but almost all of it was wrong. My husband asked twice for no mushrooms and his meal came loaded with them and my children were both given the wrong wing sauce. As she was delivering our food she noticed the table next to us had left ( I don't blame them) and started loudly cussing about it in front of multiple children at our table. She called someone a bitch right as she leaned over me to put my plate down . My husband asked for a new meal without mushrooms and it took forever to come out. When we got our bill they charged us for both of my husband's sandwiches, even the one covered in mushrooms. We finally had to get a manager to ask about our bill because our waitress had disappeared. She literally never came back once to our table after she brought our food. The other people in our parties were told their checks were not in the system and they didn't have to pay. This lady should not be working with the public and completely ruined our experience after paying over $200 for games. Some kind of discount or something would have been nice for the manager to offer considering how terrible the service was. A great selection of games and the drink servers/bar tender is always nice and friendly... but.. my biggest complaint is how unfriendly and clueless some of the employees that work the front desk as soon as you come in the building can be. About 6 months ago we came in and a young lady working the front told us we needed to buy the chargeable game cards to even play the pool or shuffle board game.. which I thought it was weird because in the past that's not how it was done. We asked her again and she said "that's correct" so we went with it. only for her to tell us we couldn't when we went to pay haha! I then asked for a manager and she told us they weren't there at this moment in time.. really? I went ahead and paid and just figured id use the extra card another time or give it to a friend. the girl then tells me it's her first day and that she apologizes.. I just let it go. Well we came back for the first time since then on Tuesday and when we went to get another card we went to enroll in there rewards program and it wouldn't let us because one of the computers were down. I went up front so they would do it there and the lady snaps and says "what are you talking about? I don't know what that is" I explain to her what it was and this was her exact words "OH! yeah that's not even worth bothering about because you don't get that extra $10 until a week later". Haha! My family and I always have a good time at Dave & Busters. Dave & Busters is the place to go and be a big kid while letting the kids have fun. We all love to play games, and my husband and I will play some of the competition games. My daughter loves to run from machine to machine and swipe the card to play games. We always have fun. They also have pretty good food. One of the times we went, we ordered food. We ordered the Trio Dip, Chicken Quesadillas, and Kid's Chicken Tenders. The Trio Dip was very good. It consisted of Gauc, Cheese Dip, and Bean Dip. The Cheese dip has meat in it which added a nice flavor. All three dips were very good and each lent a different flavor. The quesadillas were also good. I love a good quesadilla. Chicken and cheese between two tortillas with sour cream and salsa.. oh yes please! I love it! The chicken tenders were ok. They were not anything special. Overall, Dave & Busters is a good place to bring a family for a fun family outing, good times, and good laughs! This place has really gone down. Its way over priced compared to all the other activities in the area for kids to do. Some games were not working, the selection of toys for the kids are just way over ticketed. The food is ok but definitely some items are overpriced. The silverware is no longer silver. The napkins will scratch your skin so don't try using them. We are just burnt out with the low scale, high priced entertainment. No more then 2 stars for me. read more

First we enjoyed a nice meal together in this rich wood setting with tall ceilings. It was really nice. I had the peppercorn New York Strip topped with herbed boursin cheese - wow, tender and divine. The chef knows how to cook. Then sorta funny how you walk into the next room with Ms Pac Man, and 5 million games (well I might have exaggerated). I'm not much of a gamer, but Chris talked me into playing a few gun games (I do like guns). There was one that felt like a machine gun in your hand. It was so fun to play. I want so badly to give more than 2 stars. Being such a busy night I fully expected it to be crazy, normally service was a bit slower and that was totally fine, however I did not account for how rude and inattentive our server was during the dining portion of our night. while being sat by the hostess , our waitress was at a table across from us complaining about having to work( cool I get it work sucks sometimes, we have all been there, but saying that in front of guest is a big no no). She proceeded to come over and ask for our drink orders, we had already ordered drinks at the bar but it was soo busy so I just ordered my safe rum an coke drink, I didn't really have a chance to look at the menu or the beer taps. This being said I asked the waitress what beers they had on tap because I couldn't find a list anywhere and before I could even finish she responded very rudely " same ones at the bar, there are 56 on tap I'm not naming them all" so I just didn't order a drink even though I wanted one. After she brought us our waters we didn't see her again for a good 15 min, she came To get our food order was quick and prompt during this portion. We didn't see her again for the rest of the evening except to ask for our check. We didn't have silverware when our food arrived which again I get it, busy night stuff happens. it took a min for another server to run and get some for us. the food itself was great and the experience with the games were nice. I've worked in restaurant management for several years and believe me I know we all have bad days, I know busy days like this can be dreadful, I know mistakes happen, however I don't believe there is any excuse for being rude to paying guest because your unhappy that you have to work. I don't get here as much as I would like but I have a secret, they actually have pretty decent food! My family ventured up here for Father's Day as my Dad is a huge pool, shuffleboard guy and we had so much fun! We rented the shuffleboard table and the pool table out, and had some drinks. A great way to end the weekend. We didn't play games this time, but I have in the past and it is fun to get out of the house and do something different. They have recently undergone a huge renovation. It used to be more family focused, now the atmosphere is really modern, sleek, and almost hotel, club like. Everything is always really clean here. My only complaint is the drinks--I would totally recommend just going with a mixed drink here and avoid the cocktails. The cocktails I had were not strong at all and actually I ordered a pina colada that had no alcohol at all in it! Not sure what happened there. The prices are a little crazy too. All of their ads are a bunch of good looking people in their 20's drinking fancy cocktails and playing shooting games and having a great time....But that is not what I experienced last Wednesday. For all you adults out there without kids....Please avoid D&B on Wednesday. Wednesday, apparently, is half-price game night and it is SWARMING with children. Maybe it's my fault for coming here in the middle of summer, but what can you do...Getting a game card was a hassle, I had to wait to play, and by the end I had a headache. Even with half-price gaming, it was not worth it. I was here for a corporate event, and they ordered the taco bar for our group of about 40 people. The food was better than expected, but nothing overwhelming. They've renovated this location, so it looks nice and new on the inside. The area near the pool tables was nice, and there were a lot of pool tables available. However, it doesn't look like they renovated the bathrooms or the gaming area. The bathrooms were absolutely disgusting....Like, I have seen cleaner bathrooms in sports arenas. It was awful. Overall, with 16-Bit open now in OTR, there are definitely better options for adult arcades near downtown. I don't think I will be coming back to D&B anytime soon. read more

Pro tips: -Go on Wednesday when all the games are half off. It's a much better value. -They won't accept coupons (like buy $10 game play, get $10 game play) on Wednesdays though, so it's not ideal. Playing is easily done without their help, and can be really fun. Drinking, while overpriced, can be easily achieved be simply going to any one of their bars. Eating is where things start getting unbalanced. I was there with a group of people, and we were one of three tables actually sitting down to eat. We were brought food for the other two tables, yet ours was no where to be found.. just like our waiter. My kids love this joint. It's like crack. I can't get enough of it and insist we go every single time we visit Cincinnati. So will your kids love it? Heck yeah. Will your wallet like it? Shoot no. So here's the rundown, they say it is better for you to eat a meal because the game cards are cheaper. This is true. The restaurant give you discount game cards for purchasing meals. There are a few options to power charge your card for gameplay. We always take a vantage of this option because in the long run it does save you a few bucks. Especially when you have more than one child playing. We've never had poor service, but the more crowded it is you can expect your service to be slow. The restaurant is really large and it takes the servers time to move back-and-forth from the kitchen to your table. The food is decent, what you would expect from a bar type restaurant. Lots of options but simple and typical fare. We are a family of four, we purchased the meal deals that got us $20 game cards for our two kids. We purchased from a list of meals that offer the deal. This along with our meals of chicken tenders, Philly cheesesteak, two kids meals, one kids milkshake and four beers cost us over $100. This is not a place you want to visit on a regular basis, we make it for special occasions due to the amount of money we lay down. So to the important part for the kids,the games and prizes. They have made it so that tickets go automatically onto your card which is a great feature not having to keep up with tickets. There are lots of games to play for all ages including adults so we entertained ourselves too. My children have never left empty-handed, some games give you very little tickets but others can be very rewarding. I suggest you walk around a couple times and watch before your kids play to get a feel for the room. Somehow my son's shake was served well before our drinks, without whipped cream. Drinks came out, one was only half full. Sent him to fill it. Server took his sweet time for everything. Appetizer came out fine, only because the expediter served it. Bill came, $34+ change. Had a gift card for $17. Used credit card for balance. Slip came back for $72+ change. Definitely one of my favorite places! I took my staff out for a fun day and gave them each $20 to blow playing games together. This is a great place to bring your staff for some team building, or for just some good old competition. Two of my staff left with a giant stuffed animal from the claw game, which were top quality stuffed animals -- not like the ones you might win at the fair. The basketball shooting was a big hit with the men as well as all the shooting games. A few of my staff enjoyed the chocolate cake after playing the games. Biggest pro about this place is the size, their are so many games it's crazy! We sat down at a table and waited about fifteen minutes, no one acknowledged us so we went up to the bar and respectfully asked to be waited on, they told us to wait a moment and they'd be right with us. Fifteen more minutes went by, no service. We went up to the bar again, this time asking a different person for service. We got the same answer, wait a moment and someone would be right with us. An hour in total goes by and we haven't even been acknowledged by the servers. I understand it was easter but they weren't busy, at all. They had multiple servers on the floor and no one gave us any service. We ended up leaving after an hour because we got 0 service, absolutely love D&B but this was a terrible experience. read more

After we ate ($55) which I thought was kind of high for 2 appetizers, a salad and kids pasta with butter. We played (thankfully I had a coupon for a free $20 in game play, when you buy $20), so I bought $40 and then got an additional $20 free. Which is pretty good since a few of the games ate our "tokens". After 30 min, the $60 of play was over and I added another $30. Came for a new giant Super Mario plush we noticed two days ago at a D&B in Cleveland. (My 8 year old son is a super Mario fanatic). Started out asking about a military discount (got offered 10 dollars free play and an extemporaneous, snide complaint from the cashier about how "some people" try to get a military discount for "everyone" and that "we aren't trying to give a discount for a whole military family.") Okay. Fine. I was just asking because the other two D&Bs I've gone to give a 20 percent discount on all food and play purchases. Not trying to start anything. Went to dinner. The server was good although the food left a lot to be desired (but naturally we weren't expecting much). At least we didn't have to wait an hour for a server like we did last time we came. Then, we went to the prize area so we could set our goal. Asked one employee "how much is the Mario?" First employee: no clue. So we asked a second employee: "8000 tickets" was the reply. Target set. Played the slots, er, arcade games for about an hour and a half (5 people, 5 cards). Endured a few nonworking games that deducted play, but didn't start their respective game sequences; other than that: good times all around. Finally, time to cash out. We stand in a 10 minute prize redemption line. Get to the front, Tally up all our cards, "11,000 tickets." Then confidently ask for the giant, space-consuming, annoyingly gargantuan Mario plush toy hanging up on display: an annoyance for any parent, and an 8-year-old super Mario superfan's heart's content. After a confused exchange between the two employees on how to get it down (a long stick, a ladder were just two of the ideas I was able to immediately come up with--and I wasn't even on the clock), they resolved to call the manager. While we were standing at the register, the dude came around "from the back" and told the employee who was manning the register that the Mario could not be sold until tomorrow because they just got the shipment. Then, he walked away. Yep. A volte-face and he goose-stepped away. Didn't even acknowledge us. No apology. Okay. Now I'm a little annoyed. Not least because of the couple hundy we spent working for that damn plush (not that our filial superfan has need of any additional Mario stuffed toys given that he has over 50, but that's beside the point). Now wait a minute. "Will you call that manager back here please?" Reply: "Oh he's gone, he's probably already in the back." (I stare back, unamused.) "Do you mind just trying?" The manager--with a look of annoyance commensurate only with my own growing annoyance at this whole debacle--returns with a giant Mario plush presumably "from the back." He proceeds to tell the employee not to sell it for "less than fifteen thousand" and again, without acknowledging us, turns around and walks away. At this point, my annoyance has turned to a mixture of apathy at the thought of wasting anymore time and anger which could only be discharged through the disgruntled use of social media (it was an uneven mixture, the anger part being the greater portion). We leave. My poor son takes it like a man. A better man than I apparently. "It's just a toy" he says in the car. And maybe he took it better than I, but when you know there's something unique that will make your usually melancholy third grader happy and you centered an entire night of his spring break and your vacation around it (and you're stationed at a military base three states away from him and only get to see him less than once a month), it kind of pisses one off, as it were. I didn't get the impression that most of the staff at the Cincinnati D&B cared about their customers or their jobs, but maybe, just maybe someone will read this and DM me or call me (419-215-1717) to rectify this. Mistakes happen. Customers have bad experiences and complain unreasonably. But this is not one of those complaints. I can say, make it better for us, and we'll be your biggest fans. (And we also have been know to write positive reviews). Update: long time to make an update to this. But after the above review Jason from management called me and made it all right. Much like the Jillian's that used to be at MOA. We got their $24 Eat and Play combo that got us a $20 card and decent entree to share before we went to have a "real" lunch. It was perfect for an hour of fun for two adults, and 8 year old, and a 3 year old. They had many of the classic games like skee ball, basketball shooting, and even a shooting gallery. They had a lot of games for little kids, and really wild, advanced graphic games like hyper-bowling where you have a track-ball like bowling ball to control a bowling ball through buildings to hit the pins. On the Saturday we were supposed to leave town, my wife got sick and we went looking for something to do. This is my second time coming to D&B, the first time when I was visiting Georgia and I am NEVER let down! The eat and play combo is the best thing since sliced bread! D&B is a great place to go just to unwind with friends and family and just forget about the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Dave and Busters for a long time has been a favorite of mine. The atmosphere really makes the place.... And POOF! The atmosphere is gone. After the remodel, the place has become extrodinarilly ugly, and it's just depressing coming back here knowing it's lost it's flare. Yeah, they still have games, the food's... Well, OK, but that new logo for starters is just stupid. The old logo is ICONIC. They as they could say: "busted" it. They put in ugly new seats clashing with the old, more attractive ones, but most of all, they got rid of those ceiling fans. Those were really neat, and a little thing that really made the place. Now it's gone... Good job Dave and Busters, you've changed... And like many other places who change drastically -people hate it. read more

I've been to one Dave & Busters before years ago in Tampa, FL just for drinks with a friend, so I wasn't sure what to expect for the gaming sides of things. When we arrived the front desk advised that if we were doing food and play that the server could help us with that. We went into the back gaming area and stood by the tables and waited for a server. When one came she advised that we could sit anywhere. We had two children with us a 12 yr old boy and a 15 yr old boy. After going over the play cards with our waitress we decided to ordered two meals that came with a $20 play card and then we supercharged the play card for an extra $3 each. Supercharge gave an extra 25% of tokens. So you do save some money by getting the food with the play card, that is if you can find meals you like from the food and play options available. The boys had a cheeseburger quesadilla and chicken fingers and fries, which they liked and two grape candy chill drinks. My boyfriend had the Nashville chicken (which came with two boneless chicken breasts, mashed potatoes, cheese sauce, creamed spinach and two small biscuits), which he felt was a plate of individual items that didn't work well together. I had the dynamite fried shrimp (it came with butterfly shrimp, garlic mashed potatoes and fried green beans) which I quite enjoyed. I was surprised by the variety of menu options. I also had a glass of Prosecco which was $8.29. Happy Hour starts at 4pm so I later had a ProseccoRita for half price $5 (a much better deal than the first drink) and got the bananas foster pie to go (we both liked that). We were there from about 4pm-6pm. We ended up reloading each card with another $15. They played on both sides (one side has games that give you tickets for prizes and the other side has other games that you don't get tickets for). We all enjoyed ourselves and it wasn't very busy either, as we were leaving there was a line forming at the door so it looked as though it would be busier into the evening on a Friday night. I returned to Dave & Buster's for the first time in about 12 years a couple of weeks ago. My boyfriend and I were there for a party with his family, and we had a private room. Our waiter (I wish I could remember his name) was very polite and attentive, even though our group was probably a bit of a handful. The food was better than I remember it being all those years ago (especially the fries), and after we ate, we headed into the game room. Maybe I'm being overly critical, but the variety of games is just so-so. The carnival-type games to win tickets are fun, but it felt like most of the others were shooting or driving games. You can only do those so many times. We had fun messing around for a few hours, and when it came time to cash out our tickets, there was a good selection of prizes to choose from. My biggest complaint is that the table in our private party room was a pool table with a cloth over it. Not a big deal, except it was uneven around the edges, which caused several near accidents and finally a spill by my boyfriend's brother (which went all over us both). Here to visit family and friends and stopped in tonight ( Tuesday night around 7pm). It was not crowded. Three of us sat at a table and after quite a while a waitress came over and asked if we we were ordering food We said. I thank you we would like to order drinks. She turned away said nothing. We assumed she told the bartender. But apparently not. We waited for 14 minutes and were totally ignored. There were 2 people at the entire bar and only 1 table occupied. Completely unacceptable and rude NO EXCUSE for being rude ! I'd give zero stars if it was an option .... read more
