I visited Dave & Buster's on Wednesday, 11/23/22 for the 1/2 off games. Experience: This location was very awesome! All of the game machines were working and functioning properly. My favorite games to play were Pac-Man, Monopoly, and Minecraft Dungeons. I won a lot of tickets! On top of that, the staff members were truly nice and the Ladies' restroom was clean. I took my daughter for her birthday to eat and have some fun there, we ordered parmesan fries the queso with chips boneless wings. When the food arrived all of our food was cold we asked them to change it to remake it when we got the food back it was worse than the first time we talked to a manager she made it right her name was Vicky and I'm telling you if it was not for this manager I would not eat there again. She was so professional and kind and was making sure that our food was perfect she made sure that my daughter was taking care of for her birthday. They don't really do a lot for your birthday unless you buy a birthday package but she went Way Beyond to make it right for us and to make that day special for my daughter for that reason I will return. It's the NBA playoffs season and I had never been to a Dave & Buster's. Why not? The Good: Several large screen TVs that make watching sports in the bar/dining area easy regardless of where you're sitting. Having said that, I did have to negotiate with staff to actually change the channel when the Phoenix Suns game came on which seemed bizarre since nearly every guest at the bar was there to watch the game. Decent Happy Hour specials that last till 7:00 pm. Well-made cocktails. The Vanilla Old Fashioned is exceptional and packs a punch! Despite the chaos/noise of the arcade area, you're insulated from it when sitting at the bar. Food is of average quality, akin to an Applebee's. Other guests sitting at the bar were friendly and chatty. Mix of locals and travelers. The Bad: Some of the food items are way overpriced. I ordered the crispy chicken tenders with chipotle BBQ sauce. They were priced at nearly $12. What I was served was four small tenders. I actually thought that the order had been placed wrong or I was being served a special Happy Hour course of a smaller portion. I know food costs are skyrocketing but it would probably be better to just take this item off the menu. I can't imagine I'm the only disappointed guest. To be fair, the nachos were a much larger portion. The Ugly: With the exception of Adam, the bartender who waited on me, the rest of the staff has a "That's not my job mentality." And when they actually say, "That's not my job," it is pointed. Again, staffing shortages are a huge problem now, but plenty of other places are still managing to deliver exceptional service. In the end, would I ever return to Dave & Buster's? Probably not. There are tons of other establishments that offer this same concept at a better value. I totally understand the brand appeal of Dave & Buster's for families. It offers something for everyone. The kids can play games, Mom can drink a bottle of Chardonnay, Dad can watch the game while kicking back a brew. It is convenient, albeit not cheap. Similarly, the food on offer is not something you would come here for. I ordered the grilled steak salad that was OK but was marred by the tons of dressing slathered on (note to kitchens: ALWAYS put the dressing on the side!). For the Tempe Marketplace location in particular, there's just too many other good options around. read more

The grilled salmon is outstanding. The service is great! The drinks are spot on, and right on time. The energy during sports games is fun and you will have a good view no matter where you are. The cobb salad was not what I expected; mixed salad greens is chopped romain with a lot of the heart, the corn has a sweet, cream base, so even with dressing and cheese on the side, it's coming "wet." It was still delicious and had a nice crunch. (But next time, I'll just order the salmon entree.) Overall, it's a great dining experience and well worth the price. read more

Dave and Busters is always a fun place for a date night! When I had Wednesday's off for work my boyfriend and I liked going for half price game night mamy times. The awesome thing too, is that you can now redeem tickets for a select few appetizers and desserts which change after a period of time. I really liked it when they had their lettuce wraps included in that. My boyfriend and I come for some game nights as well as fights and we've never had a problem. Came here for Tuesday Trivia and games. It was so fun. It was Jack's Trivia if I remember correctly. I am not a drinker so I opted for some food for the event. I got a side of Mac and a side of guac and chips. Both were really really good. I highly recommend both options as both seemed freshly made. The Mac was creamy and was made with cavatappi noodles. The guac seemed to be made fresh but if not, they fooled me. It was chunky and had all of the right mix ins like onion and tomato. The games were super fun as well. The scary 3D game may leave your with nightmares but it's well worth it. read more

I contemplated leaving this review but I think it's important to provide an honest take on the state of restaurants right now and how my experience at Dave & Busters last night was the perfect example. At present, eating out at casual dining places has become as equal a luxury as dining out at a fine restaurant. And not due to quality but solely based on cost. An order of appetizer wings at this location was $18.99 and you only receive seven wings. The wings weren't particular delicious and the atmosphere wasn't particularly vibrant. For a Monday night in October you would think D&B would attempt to attract customers through food and drink specials while they watch Monday Night Football or the Major League Baseball playoffs. There was none of that. Just really overpriced cafeteria quality bar food. The place was half empty and the service was okay. I have 1-star for timeliness of service and the cleanliness of the facility. But there was absolutely nothing about that experience that warranted spending $20 after taxes on seven pieces of chicken wings. We left before the game we came to watch ended. As we walked through Tempe Marketplace on our way to our car we passed much livelier bars that were full of patrons. We peaked at their menus and were seriously regretting our decision. If you find yourself in Tempe Marketplace and are looking to watch a sporting event while enjoying delicious food, I do not recommend D&B. Places where you'll have a better time without regretting the money you spent are within walking distance: The Thirsty Lion, Bar Louie, and Twin Peaks. For this Dave & Busters, come for the arcade games but go somewhere else for food and drinks. read more

Came to visit Tempe Marketplace (since I constantly see the bright lights when landing at PHX airport) and capped off our night with a visit to D&B since it's been a while. We came here primarily to play the games and we were able to have an hour plus fun on a $35 card. Overall, the game selections were modern and new though this D&B felt smaller than other ones I've visited in California. There wasn't too long of a wait for the more popular games, but my biggest gripe was their DDR-clone. A group of DDR fanboys decided to setup shop at the arcade and pretty much block anyone else from playing. It is very frustrating when you swipe your card and you're charged for the game...but you dont get to play the game. This happened multiple times. My girlfriend and I went here to compare it to the D&B from Queen Creek. Only did the gaming as we had eaten prior, however, a decent portion of the games were out of order. We still had fun with the games we could play. The main reason I'm writing this review is because when it was time to checkout, we selected our prizes and brought them to the counter. The man at the checkout, Enzo, scans all our items and then he placed a bag of gummy bears and a candy burger with our selected items. My girlfriend and I assumed he was handing them out for free as he hadn't said a word about them and we didn't ask for them. Come to find out the morning after, the receipt showed us he charged us for them. At no point did we even ask for or desire candy so I'm not sure if he did it intentionally but come on, do better. read more

Experience. Poor, worse than poor. In deficit. Ordered side salad, my partner ordered the Parmesan truffle fries at 1:30.... At 3:00 his fries were delivered. No mention of salad status. Finally at 3:30, I took a walkabout to find a manager. Good to hear he was working the line. BUT if you are working the line wouldn't you see a ticket not fulfilled for 2 hours. 20 minutes later salad arrives. They are out of any non-dairy dressing. Ok, I get it. Asked for pepper, hot sauce...nothing ever arrived. Finally just ate it dry. Listen, I get it- short staffed, we're kot e petting the Raider fan base to show up like they did, it was a busy first Football Sunday. But 2 hours for a side salad? No accountability? Serve my partner and not me? Wasn't able to fulfill the order (no salad dressing available). None of this is on our server. Again she was amazing. Symptoms of poor leadership. My marketing team hosted a holiday party at this location and the one on the westside. People loved the meatballs. The rest of the food appeared decent, nothing to write home about and not fancy, just average. My guests ate everything but the only thing they commented on being good was the meatballs. D&B's is always a fun place. Drinks are delicious! Apps and some of the entrees are really good, but the new menu took a lot of things out so it feels like there is not much to choose from like before. I used to love looking through the overextended pages of food and drink items, but it's not like that anymore. Great games and the card deals are good. My kids range from 18 to 25 so they all have equal amount of a good time here. My favorite thing to do is sit at a table and watch all kinds of sports on the plethora of TVs with a drink in hand. read more
