So I asked the young woman at the register to place an order for a double cheeseburger with bacon and everything on it to simplify it, along with an order of fries and their C&C cola. The taste of the burger was nothing extraordinary in my opinion, especially in a City with so many choice and highly competitive burger offerings. This was like so many smashed burgers that are all the rage these days. I have not been generally impressed by smashed burgers, so this review is admittedly biased. This offered little to no caramelized edges, which would be one of the big positives for a smashed burger. The slap sauce, which seems to be mustard and mayo with finely minced and blended relish as best I can tell, did not make the case either. The slap sauce was good, but it did not cause me to write home about it. They definitely give you bacon to justify the upcharge, but the cheese was lost in the slap sauce. The fries had a nice fluffy interior, but were not that crispy outside. The fries were good, but ketchup is needed. The C&C cola was quite good. This is a clean location with good service and no real negatives. People of all walks were walking in. It's popular. For $18 and change cash, it's a decent value, especially if you have children. I specifically ordered a deluxe burger and selected onion rings as the side that came with it. I then ordered a separate side of French fries. In my special instructions, I simply wrote that I wanted the French fries cooked well done. When my DoorDash order arrived, my deluxe burger came with fries instead of the onion rings I had selected, on top of the separate order of fries I had already purchased. I considered letting it go, but after spending over $40, ending up with two orders of fries that I never asked for was ridiculous. I called because I wasn't sure if sending the onion rings through DoorDash was even possible, but I wanted to see what solution they could offer. Instead of acknowledging the mistake, the "manager" immediately tried to blame me and said, "Well, your special instructions said to make the fries well done." I'll be honest, I lost it. I couldn't believe I was being blamed for a mistake I didn't make. Asking for the French fries to be cooked well done does not mean I was asking to replace my onion rings with another order of fries. At no point did I ask for a substitution for something I specifically selected. Instead of taking accountability or trying to fix the mistake, the manager continued insisting it was somehow my fault. If there was any confusion, the appropriate response would have been to apologize and try to make it right, not blame the customer. Mistakes happen, but refusing to take accountability and doubling down instead of trying to resolve the issue is terrible customer service. By the end of the conversation, the missing onion rings weren't even the biggest issue. It was the complete lack of accountability. I won't be ordering from here again.
