I've been to Dave's Hot Chicken twice now. Both times, I've had the 1 Slider and 1 Tender combo, with fries. I have to say that I'm not overly impressed. I think the spicy chicken sandwich at Popeye's is better. The fries were crinkle-cuts that reminded me of grocery store Ore Ida's that you'd warm up in your oven. I did like the Tender, but only after I smothered it with Dave's sauce and honey. Still, it isn't something I'd go out of my way for. As it has been mentioned before, the value just isn't there. read more

I got the number 3 which is the Single Tender and the sandwich. I liked the tender a lot it had a lot of flavor I just don't like cole slaw which was in the sandwich. I was kind of disappointed they don't have ranch but they have their orange Side of Dave's Sauce, ketchup, and honey. SO GOOD. I've seen Dave's Hot Chicken all over social media and was so stoked to try it when I heard Michigan opened a location. The line was pretty long when I arrived but it was very efficient and I did not have to wait long. The chicken sandwich was absolutely delicious. Nashville hot chicken is a food fad that hasn't died yet and likely will not for awhile. I am grateful there is a Dave's nearby now as it is supposedly a popular franchise. The menu is very simple and easy to read. The food is a bit expensive but very satisfying and the tenders are actually a decent size compared to other places offering similar food. The "Hot" level was the perfect balance of spicy and flavorful for my tasted, and their famous sauce is a wonderful creamy complement to it. They even give honey packets which I love as far as adding a bit of sweetness. Mac N Cheese very creamy and worth it if you want a side. Wish it was a little cheaper, but can't complain. read more

I was so excited to try this place after seeing it on instagram. I went on a Thursday at 2pm. There was a line, but it wasn't bad. It took me about 15min to get to the front to order and about 5-10 after that to actually get my order. I really liked the girl at the cash register she was really sweet and helpful. Unfortunately I don't know her name, but she was hijabi. As for the food: I ordered the #3 which comes with a slider, tender, and fries. I also got a soft drink. My total was about 20 something with tip. The slider was phenomenal, so yummy! I ordered that in mild. On the other hand the tender was not good at all. I ordered it in medium and it was sooooo salty I could not eat it. The chicken part was good, but so much sodium. Literally inedible. The slice of bread that it came with was totally unnecessary and odd lol. The fries were okay. I wish they were crispier. My order was supposed to come with 2 dave's sauces, but it only came with one. I guess they'd been doing that to others too. Also wish they had other options like ranch or ketchup. Our Dave's isn't open yet, so I figured I'd try this location since we were near it. And I am so glad that I did! I wasn't aware that the sandwiches were sliders, so I was a little confused looking at the menu. When I got my food, I realized that the pieces of chicken were massive, and the buns were so soft. The Dave's sauce is pretty tasty as well. I got the No Spice version, and I was pleased. I'm a punk when it comes to spicy foods, so I appreciate the fact they have something for us non-spicy lovers! The fries were nice and crispy, and the sauce complimented them perfectly. I wish I could've gotten a few more fries, but other than that, no complaints. In checking out the menu online, I opted to place the order there and go in to pick it up. I ordered Combo #2 which is two sliders (I added cheese) and opted to sub out the fries for the Mac & Cheese. I like a little heat so I decided on Medium. I really like the Dave's sauce and regretted not getting fries to put it on. For my son, I ordered Combo #1 which is two tenders and fries. He likes it hot so I ordered his Hot. We arrived, and had to stand in a line that was out the door, and all the way to the street. We decided to wait since it was obvious that the chicken must be good after reading other reviews and they all said the line is always long. The menu is tenders or sliders. They have a couple sides, and 5 spice levels to choose for your chicken. Very limited menu so one can assume the chicken is good. After finally getting to the counter we ordered our food, but they were out of strawberry milkshakes. Ordered a chocolate instead. Between the line and actually getting the food it took us about 40 minutes. We got lucky as we got our food a table opened. Not sure if they were short staffed, but their trash cans were over flowing, trash all over the floors, and all the tables were very dirty. Aesthetically they had some cool wall art, but the trash all over the place really took away from the appeal. The chicken was delicious. The milkshake was also pretty damn good. Our order was messed up which was a shame. We ordered mild, but given no spice. Place was too busy for us to try to get it fixed. Also, I love hot stuff, and the hot was so spicy that I was sweating. If you don't love overly hot stuff stay away from hot and order no spice because the no spice still had a great flavor. Overall the chicken was amazing but everything else about the experience was mediocre. Just cleaning the place would bring this place to a 4 star easily. read more

We got four orders of #1 - two Med and the other two we got hot. We placed our order online, then headed over. We would highly recommend that you order online for pickup, there was a long line of folks waiting for their order and the dining room was full. We were disappointed with their hot version as it was not hot as we expected. The tenders were fried well, but would not go out of my way to Dearborn to get the tenders. Came here a while back and not bad. The chicken sandwiches here are basically chicken tenders on on bread with all the bells and whistle of a hot chicken sandwich. They give you packets of the special sauce on the side and the crinkle cut fries were good. This place was not bad but being metro Detroit are starting to have more and more hot chicken sandwich places popping up, this one is more middle of the pack to me. read more

I got two chicken sliders, both medium, one with cheese and one without. Fries came with it, drink was extra, my total was over $17. And that's one of their three meal deals. The food was GREAT, the sliders come with a bunch of stuff- pickles, slaw, a sauce or three- honestly I don't know and don't care because it was really really good. Much better than your usual barely-brown Michigan fried chicken. I love spicy food, I got medium, and next time I will get hot. Despite how good it was, $17 for lunch? Major tip: Go right when they open! I actually had pleasant experience here. Since we got there pretty much around 11:15am when they opened, we were able to order and get our food in around 10 minutes. I got the chicken tender & slider combo with cheese and I would just get the sliders, the tenders are kind of pointless. I got my heat set as medium and since I don't eat spicy food that definitely is enough spiciness for me! They make sure they put HEAVY seasoning on their chicken where it sticks to the back of your throat. We were able to sit down as well and I feel like the area could have been cleaner due to just opening but it wasn't a huge deal. I feel like the food was kind of expensive but you get damn near two meals in one order. This isn't my favorite place but the food is pretty good and I would suggest others to check it out! read more

Order the sliders here (The #2 is my go-to) and make drizzle a packet of some of the honey they give you on top of the crispy chicken, as is tradition, before you bite into it and enjoy the burst of flavor and mouth watering spice, and you'll understand why this place is so good. If you like spicy, they have options like Hot, Very Hot, & Reaper, and if you're gonna do all that, get a vanilla milkshake as well because I find it soothes the tongue just in time when I need it.
