This is my first time eating at Dave's Hot Chicken. What a delightful treat it reminds me of the noon Nashville hot chicken craze that's going around the country. Matthew is a major asset to your company. I had the mild and it was spicy for me. Next time I'll ask for the seasonings on the side. I asked for mayonnaise and Matthew said that Dave makes his own mayonnaise. It's a tangy thousand island. Matthew sold me on the honey. It fought the spicy flavor. I was pleasantly surprised at how good my experience at Dave's Hot Chicken was. The restaurant was clean and organized. I was amazed at the size of the Chicken Tender Slider. When I hear the term chicken slider, I picture a small piece of chicken on a King's Hawaiian roll. This was not the case. The sliders at Dave's are the size of a typical restaurant's chicken sandwich. The chicken tender with the mild sauce had the perfect amount of heat and spiciness. I haven't been to the location in Florida yet! But they did not disappoint when I tried them in Cali. We decided to do the hot box which is a roulette of 10 sliders. The options are choose two level spices or one reaper and the rest a mix of mild and medium, but we originally wanted to order two reapers, two extra hot and the rest mild, however they accommodated us for two reapers, two extra hot and the rest mild. Wow was I impressed with Daves hot chicken! From first glance they had a nicely designed inside, and a bunch of outdoor seating, one thing that also sets this spot apart from other local chicken spots is they also don't have a drive thru. The cashier was super friendly and described the menu in detail to me. I really found that great especially for being a first time. I decided to order the number 3 combo, and I ordered it Mild just in case the spice was a lot. Thankfully it wasn't, and I would definitely try Medium next time to up it a level. I absolutely loved the fries! The seasoning on them is sooo good and the slider had a huge piece of chicken on it that tasted fresh and fantastic! I loved the slaw on it as well as the pickles! I also loved Dave's sauce. It tasted like it was a mayo base sauce which isn't a bad thing at all. I would definitely recommend! My combo also came with an additional slider on bread and more pickles for that tender which I thought awesome! I really thought this combo was a great deal for how much food you got! Dave's hot chicken is truly the first of its kind in West Pines and I was STOKED when i saw it coming in. We waited a bit while the hype died down a little because the first week or two the line was out the door! We stopped in after studying the menu and walked up knowing exactly what we wanted. As a fast casual spot, you order at the counter and then they give you a buzzer to wait for your food. We got the sliders (extra hot), tenders (no spice) and Dave's bites (nuggets, no spice), crinkle cut fries and Mac n Cheese. Almost everything was amazing. The tenders are MASSIVE, so a two count is more than enough for most. I got the two sliders and only finished one. It was big, crispy, spicy and moist. The Dave's sauce on it was creamy and left a nice balance and you add those big crunchy briny pickles and the flavors melt together perfectly. The regular tenders (no spice) while big, hot and crispy lacked any real flavor. I know we got them with "no spice" but i thought they would have more seasoning. Fries were awesome. Hot, crispy, seasoned well and dunked in Dave's Sauce were AMAZING! Mac n Cheese was meh. Seemed like Stouffers in a cup. Wouldn't get it again Spot is really cool with indoor and outdoor seating. I have to start with the cashier. This kid is the best. She's so kind, friendly and very attentive. I wish all fast food restaurants had employees like her. Didn't get her name but, she's a young kid with braces. Now the food. Food is ok. What I didn't like are a couple of things. I don't like that they use the same seasoning on the chicken and fries. Be forewarned the Hot is hot AF but the chicken is perfectly executed juicy inside and crispy outside and absolutely worth the burn! Two is a very filling portion as the tenders are huge. The fries are crinkled and crispy. I got cheese on the side and it was a cute amount for .49. Drink is not included sadly. They are clearly cooked to order and taste just that. Inside is well appointed and clean but took it to go. Service was sufficient and hospitable enough. Now that Dave's Hot Chicken has made it through its growing pains, it's fantastic! I went just before noon this past Saturday and the place was relatively empty, so I was able to walk right up to the counter and place my order. The ladies at the counter were very polite and friendly, and I got my food within 10-15 minutes and was given a generous amount of Dave's sauce and honey when I asked for extra. I again had the #3 meal, this time opting for Extra Hot for the sandwich and Hot for the tender, and they were both freaking amazing. My food was hot, well-cooked, well-seasoned, and absolutely delicious. I didn't notice a huge difference in spice between the two levels, but that may just be because I drenched everything in that addictive Dave's Sauce! I was between 2 and 3 stars, but I'll give the benefit of the doubt. I wanted to like this place, but I was honestly pretty disappointed. I went around 1:15 on a weekday and the line wasn't bad. The girl who took our order seemed like she didn't want to be there at all, didn't really answer questions, and kind of just seemed out of it. When our order came, we realized that she had rang us up incorrectly, overcharging us by about $14. Because ordering with her was difficult enough, we didn't even want to go back up to try to correct it. At $13 for a meal with two tenders, they're pretty expensive. The biggest plus is that you can choose from 7 different heat levels. Having more than just the normal 3 means there's something for everyone. I got the mild and my husband got lite mild (both tenders meals), which tasted almost identical. The flavor was a little strange and I can't really describe it. It was almost sweet and smoky? There was a pile of seasoning or dry rub just piled on top of the tenders, which made them slightly dry. The meals come with bread and pickles, which is a nice touch. The service was nice, they kept the tables and drink area stocked and clean, and they've got a good handful of tables in a really cool graffiti space! You can grab sliders, whole tenders, tender bites or a combo of both. I tried both the slider on a potato bun and whole tenders and they were both delicious and well seasoned! Just like the fries. The dave's sauce tastes exactly like chick fil a sauce so I'm here for it 100% I also tried out thier topped shakes and you can pick your base of strawberry, vanilla, or chocolate. Please understand it is freshly opened and the lines stretch into the parking lot so pack your patience and be prepared to wait. I became a HUGE fan of Dave's Hot Chicken while visiting LA a couple years ago and was ecstatic to see a location opening up in Pembroke Pines. I checked the location weekly as they were building out the storefront until it finally opened in August of 2024. I went in twice within a couple days and am doing this review based on my combined, yet very similar experience. While all the employees were exceptionally nice, it was also exceptionally slow. On both occasions the location was not very busy... but it took 20 mins each time to receive my order. I give some leeway because they are new, and still training staff. But... In comparison to my West coast experience.. it's just not there... yet. The chicken tenders were a bit dry and WAY over seasoned to the point I could lift a tender and the spice seasoning completely fell off. It really just added to the dryness. As a person who has had his fair share of Nashville Hot Chicken from some of the best locations in the US, it just didn't stack up on these occasions. Even in the Pines area, I still think Hot Chicks is better. I would not get the tenders by themselves from this location again... but I do like the sliders. The Dave's sauce mixed with the watery acidity of the coleslaw and pickles adds some much needed moisture to the chicken tender. The potato buns however are still stellar, as are the crispy and well seasoned fries. I love Dave's, and hope this location dials in the magic that makes it such a great franchise. read more

Stood in line for 15 minutes & waited another 10 minutes for the food. I'll be honest, at first, I was thoroughly enjoying the bites I was having - starting with the fries! Those were crunchy, toasty & well seasoned! As in crunchy all around, not just the tips. Not soggy at all! The first few bites of the tender really hit the spot. Well seasoned, juicy & tender. It paired well with Dave's sauce mixed with honey. Midway, I discovered the hair & not by eyesight sadly... I honestly thought it was my own hair, but after reviewing the pics I realized this was not the case. Looking back, I did realize hair is not completed tied in a ponytail for some workers. There might need to be a dress code review of how to properly style & upkeep their hairstyle. I wish I could rave about the sandwich, but after saving it for later, I decided to throw it out from being contaminated. I'm so sorry for leaving such a negative review, but I'm rarely in this disposition to do so... I hope it's just a few hiccups for a new establishment that will soon get corrected. The main hype of this restaurant is the different selections of hot spices that the chicken can have. In my case im not a big fan of hot spices so i ordered my four mini sliders to be cooked in light mild sauce. Order took about 15 minutes to come out but it was worth the wait. I loved the bread, the sauce and the extra pickles on the side. The regular tender had good flavor but was did not taste fresh which was disappointing. I purchased all of their basics. I got two sliders and two different flavors, medium and hot. I got two tenders with fries, medium and hot. The tenders and fries meal came out to about $13 and you had to buy a drink as well so I would say it's about $15 for a meal. In terms of portion size is not big but the food itself is good. It's not the best chicken I've ever had, but it's much better than the cheap fast food chicken. But I felt that the sandwiches were better than the tenders by themselves. I just think the chicken with the Dave's sauce as well as the pickles and slaw was a great combination on the potato bun. And yes, the hype is real. that Dave's sauce is fire. Also, on a sidenote, the fries were surprisingly good. I don't usually like crinkle cut fries, but they were well seasoned and crunchy. The staff was very friendly. Answering any questions I had. I know a lot of people are saying that the wait time is long, and although it is, with lines like this, I don't blame them. I think they're still getting their bearings being new because it does seem that food comes out, out of order. We did see a few people get their food before us that ordered after but, again, they just opened recently so I'm sure the kinks will work out eventually. There's a good amount of seating both indoor and out. The service was actually super friendly and answered any and all questions we had. Ordering was a breeze and the menu was easy to read. My partner and I got the #2 to share which was just 2 sliders and fries, which was more than enough for a lighter dinner for both of us. The sliders are actually a good size and the fries were good to share. We also go an oreo shake with vanilla, but this shake was more lackluster. It just tasted like vanilla with oreo toppings but was a good thing to have on hand if you got a spicier sandwich. You can mix and match heat preference if you get two sliders so I got the medium and my partner got hot. The spice level was actually significantly different with the hot having a lasting kick that was making him sweat even after he finished the meal. Overall, it was really good but I'd opt out of the shake next time unless you plan on getting something with the heat level hot or more to help you satiate the spice. I tried a piece of the hot chicken and it was honestly so good! The medium tenders came with a little packet of honey but I didn't use the honey. I will say that the medium flavor had a sweeter taste so it makes sense that they put the honey on the side. Definitely will say the fries were the best I've had in a long time. I have been waiting IMPATIENTLY for what feels like probably a year for this location to finally open so I knew I had to go on opening day waiting in line for around 1 hour and 45 min to enjoy what I feel is the best fast Nashville hot chicken out there, needless to say I may be biased since I am Dave's obsessed Ok I get it everyone is saying relax it's only chicken but I'm sure the people who get it GET IT because my husband sure doesn't so god bless him for waiting in that line with me Now for my experience the first thing was the service: everyone I interacted with was very pleasant and even though I'm sure they were all BEAT from how busy it was I never felt that, so I loved the energy, keep that up because it really makes your customers feel good The food: NEEDLESS to say the food was amazing and just how I know and love it to be, I ended up getting 2 extra hot tenders with fries, a side of Mac and cheese and a chocolate milkshake with cinnamon toast crunch on top The tenders were juicy and crispy, I had to try a piece on my way home and I will say that for me personally the heat level of the extra hot without Dave's or honey is super spicy my tongue was on Fire But when adding those condiments even without the honey it dramatically brings down the heat level where it's very enjoyable, basically the perfect heat for someone who really enjoys the spicier side of "food" life, I also tried the mild tender and I really enjoyed it for a heatless option I am a huge fan of their fries I absolutely adore crinkle cut fries and the seasoning they put on them is tasty, a perfect addition The Mac and cheese had a good cheesy flavor however mine and my husbands critique on it was it is WAY too watery and the portion size WAY too small as you can see in the photo I included but making it less watery it would be a decent side to get and I didn't try the Kale Slaw that night but from experience that is also a pretty good side as well with a lot of crunch and sweetness The milkshake I got was really good I loved how it felt almost like a custard very smooth and creamy but it was still so easy to enjoy right away with a straw, I personally don't know how necessary the toppings are especially because it adds $2 to the shake but that may just be a preference thing as I think it's nice without it Overall I seriously can't believe that it's in my grasp, it is SURREAL and I couldn't be happier! Ok all first I am no longer a fast food type of guy but this place can change my mind. Since it opened I kept seeing long lines at this place and would say to myself "if just chicken; what's the big deal". Well today the line was not bad so I dove in and orders the 2 Slider Combo "Lite Mild". In my car took a bite and immediately said to myself "this is not your regular fast food chicken slider". WOW the taste is much more than I expected; the chicken tender pieces were big and perfect; this sat in Cole slaw pickles and their sauce. The fries were great but this side sauce made them better. Look at come here and eat; and I have to warn Chick-Fi-A you are good but there is a new Sheriff; no Chicken in town and he is called Dave so what yourself. If this place continues with this quality those long lines Chick Fil A have will definitely get short. read more
