The interior was lovely and the service was excellent and attentive. Our meal did not disappoint, either. We had the croquets with arroz con pollo, avocado crema, but no cilantro (my wife is allergic to it). Very tasty, as were our cocktails. My wife had the risotto with braised beef cheek (so tender!), roasted oyster mushrooms, veal demi-glace, and parmesan. Unctuous and umami. I had the Bucatini -- blue crab with anchovy butter and red pepper pesto. I'm a sucker for anchovies and the anchovy butter, once stirred into the pasta, was absolutely delicious and really complimented the crab. A truly savory and decadent treat. We were really pleased with our experience at Our Paladar and we look forward to coming back when we visit Rochester again in the not too distant future.

Well, there's a first time for everything... The first thing I noticed about the store is how sparkling clean the floors were. Along with the bright lighting and well-organized shelves stacked with the whole gamut of traditional spices, jams, pita bread, cookies, and teas (to name only a few of the items they had), this place exceeded my expectations. Many international grocers have no desire to spruce up their stores because they know the focused customer base will continue to shop there, especially if there is no nearby competition. However, this place does an excellent job of appealing to the general public, with its ample selection of meats, cheeses, frozen and dried goods. If you plan on visiting the store on Fridays, remember that its closed around noon. I forgot what time exactly, but it is listed on the front door. I parked on the street at a metered spot right in front of the store and did not notice a nearby lot for shoppers.

When you start adding toppings, the pies do start to get a little expensive. However, their specialty pies will still run you the same price of a 1-topping at most other places. We tried their wings, cinabread, and cheese bread too. The wings' sauce had a little more vinegar in it than we prefer and wasn't very spicy. However, they're cooked just right and come with some great bluecheese. The cinabread and cheese bread were good, but for the price, we'd rather just order another pizza. If you're lucky, you'll catch their Tuesday special and snatch one up for $1 with a Specialty Order. $5 Pizza is a chain out of the cities. They've been at this location in Rochester for about six months. If they continue to serve the same quality food at this price, they'll be around for a long time. This will be our go-to pizza place in Rochester from now on. The only thing that would make this place better is tables and frosty beverages. However, as it stands right now, they only have take-out and we don't think the location could support table service. Anyway, amazing place and I highly recommend that you stop by.
