This is my boyfriend's favorite chain restaurant, so I had extremely high hopes as he was always raving about it. I was pretty disappointed in my chicken as it was dry and not flavorful enough. The fries and sauce were the best part of the meal, which is not what you'd expect or want from a chicken place. Service was good and everyone was friendly.

Chicken is very juicy and tender, nice crisp batter. My only complaint is I've eaten here twice now (got mild and then bumped it up to medium) and there was ZERO spice. Lots of flavor, but no spice. I'm very confused. I thought maybe it would build as I ate it both times, but it wasn't spicy at all. Great chicken, good fries, but where's the heat?

DHC. Dave's hot chicken is a franchise on a come Up. I've had them in multiple cities and all have been delicious. This visit was no different. Ordered the 2 slider hot, that comes with FF and their Dave's sauce. Also the 2 tender that came with french fries and their sauce. Both the items were delicious and the french fries were seasoned very good. I am going to try the extra hot next time to see how tastebuds feel. The service was fine. Got plenty of smiles at the order counter and the ambiance had a great vibe with all the customers and plenty of chatter.

Had some Hot Chicken at the original Prince's in Nashville last year. It was yummy, and hot. Tried KFCs version, it wasn't either. Was excited to try Dave's. Ordered the #1 which is two tenders, bread, pickles and crinkle fries. There's a side of Dave's sauce too which is a little hard to define. More spicy mayo than anything else. I was beginning to wonder about the wait but then the molten hot food came out. It was definitely fresh from the fryer. I had the medium which was hot enough for me. But there was almost too much dry spice on the tenders. And I feel like regular chicken would be much better (like Prince's). The fries also had spice on them. The pickles were good to temper the heat but the white bread was uninspired. Again I think the sauce with more dry rub than liquid was the culprit. At other places the bread soaks up the sauce. I only needed one refill on my ice tea. At Prince's it was more like 4. I saw a neighboring customer with a 'slider' meal. Be forewarned it's really a chicken sandwich more than a slider. My #1 was plenty filling. The food was fine, it just wasn't as good as I hoped. A solid 3.5 but rounding generously to 4.

Every time I eat Dave's Hot Chicken, I like it a little bit more. This place is really super good. Walking in, I'm familiar with their brand, and had no clue that this specific location even existed. I've been to their Troy location, but when I saw this one, I had to stop in to eat. Walking in, the place has plenty of seating, is very clean and an overall great location and easy to find. The lady at the counter was very polite, professional and helped me order my food. I usually get the #4 when I'm here, and went with the mild spice this time since I was feeling a bit sassy. LOL. My food came out and I literally ate it as fast as I could. Fortunately, they have fountain pop here, so I was able to get refills as I needed. The mild spice was good, and I didn't feel it until much later in the sandwich. Fries here are delicious and I plan on being back. Thank you Dave's Hot Chicken, you rock it out. I love your food and I plan on eating here as much as possible!

For fried chicken, this place is pretty great, new and very clean. Their chicken is advertised as Halal (for the Muslim community. I'm just getting a single "tender" I asked for the sauce (which you can order in mold, medium, or hot) to be on-the-side and mild.

My sister was hell bent on getting me to try this place. She had it a few times and raved about it so I finally gave in. I love me some spicy chicken so it didn't take much convincing. She said 'Medium' spice served her well in the past, so that's what I went for. I always get my sandwiches without mayo, aioli's, etc. We both got #3s, which includes one slider and one tender with crinkle fries. I went in for the slider first and holy hell was that eventful! Unlike my sister, I was not dipping mine in a sauce so I had a tough time taking on that heat. She was quite entertained and I was just trying to get through it. Not one to give up or waste food, it took me an hour to finish! I decided to leave the tender alone and remarked my carryout box as HOTT. Forgetting what had happened an hour prior, I went back to the tender but this time had a side of BBQ sauce. What. A. Difference. The juicy tender didn't phase me one bit. I didn't excrete one bead of sweat. I think that's the secret; have some sauce to absorb some of the rub or you might think you're dying, like I did. Glad that the tender was able to redeem this chicken. I would suggest this place now but would reiterate rethinking your spice level or making sure every bite was sauce ridden.

These guys popped up on a corner of Warren where I was born & raised. Thought they could just waltz in, sell some fried chicken on the corner of 13 & Mound and I would stop in huh? You know me so well, no matter how healthy I am or how much weight I lose, my heart is fat, and loves spicy fried chicken. Chicken was crunchy, spicy, and layered w flavor, was nervous about a kale slaw, but damn, on this bun w Dave's sauce, my lips are still tingling as I sit in the car and kick out this review. I feel 9.99 was a good value, grab a water & we got a new lunch spot. Only critique, the menu is streamlined for speed but the amount of time I waited for a bunch of fried items was a little lengthy to say the least. If the wait times go down & quality stays up, I imagine a 5 star review to match! Thanks Dave

Do not eat this while driving! Let me explain. It was about 3 pm and there was a line. Where are all these people coming from in the middle of the day? But now I see why. It was absolutely delicious! This chicken is dipped in dry rub to your spice level and the sandwich comes with Dave's sauce, sweet pickles & slaw, seasoned French fries on the side. Red paprika cayenne fingers and sauce dripping is the result but baby, it's exactly how I like it! The "slider" makes it seem small but one is a full meal. Very hot is just that. I like spicy and my lips have that slight tingle still 25 minutes later. Hubby got medium and he said it's perfect. I can see coming back again and again; it was more craveable with every bite. Sensational and glad to have some good a** chicken in the area!

Drove past & figured I'd give it a try. Love this place! The chicken sandwich was very flavorful. I chose Medium for my level of spicy. I don't think I can handle any hotter than that. I also like the Dave's sauce. Reasonable prices and cool murals on the walls. The staff was friendly and helpful since it was our first time. Overall 10/10, Very good!

Took my lunch break to try this new location of Dave's hot Chicken. It was my first time at a Dave's. It had a nice atmosphere, when I arrived it wasn't busy but the lunch rush came just after I ordered. I ordered a single slider and fries, which is a good amount of food. Their slider is just their tender on a bun with pickles and kale slaw. Dave's sauce is pretty good and has some spice. It's a good chicken sandwich. The drink cost extra, which was annoying. The staff was nice and helpful for my first visit.
