[[HIGHLIGHT]]The location is not huge, but has indoor seating.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] It did take about 15 minutes to get our food, but it was served hot and fresh. I got the tender and slider meal with fries. It was very filling and had a nice flavor. I got a hot level. Be aware I like spicy stuff and this had a kick to it. Dave's Hot Chicken opened here in Yuma September 15, 2023. And has had a steady flow of customers since. My family has visited once or twice without me, but for my daughter's birthday meal she decided to eat it here. Let's go! [[HIGHLIGHT]]On this night, it wasn't as crowded or busy. We waited about 5 minutes before we started ordering.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I ordered Dave's #3 Mild as hot isn't my thing. The worker Julian was on his grind, worker as cashier and expedited, and very apologetic for the slow service. No worries, man! Not your fault if someone called out! Our wait for our order was a little more than 12 minutes. And worth it. I really enjoyed the crispy, well-seasoned fries and of the Mild chicken. I loved it's darkish color and the taste; not dry and not too juicy. I did try a piece of "hot" chicken from my daughter's basket; it was walking down at dark alley...as you walked the "hotness" followed, and intensified! I took home leftovers (which tasted great the next day). I do look forward to eating here again (sans the "hot" chicken)!

Another awesome spot on the drive from Phoenix to San Diego! Saw that Dave's recently opened in Yuma, and I decided to stop here for lunch. Its in a super convenient location, right near a Sams Club gas station (cheap gas). I went with a #2, Hot, with a side of cheese sauce (really small cup, worth the $1.50 extra just to get the cheese fries and have your fries covered in their cheese) and my wife went with a #4, Mild. Had a Cherry Coke to drink. How was everything? Bomb as usual! The combo of the sauce, slaw, pickles and hot chicken are flat out awesome! The Hot will make you grab your drink and blow your nose a few times during your meal, as well it should! Really, really good "hot chicken". I love this shit! Officially addicted, without a doubt! Service was friendly and kind from the guy working the front register. This was definitely the smallest Dave's Hot Chicken I have been to. I think only 3-4 workers were there and they had maybe room to sit 20-25 people from what it looked like. Not that it matters, just that if you came with vans full of a baseball team or something, might not all fit lol. Anyways.........super glad this is here, and will be a frequent stop on the way to/from Phoenix/San Diego.

Three stars because the food was good for the most part but, the customer service was lacking. I went for lunch and tried the mini sliders. All of them were good except for one. The chicken on that one was a quarter of the size of the rest of them so, it was 90% bread and a tiny piece of chicken and the fries were cold. Other than that the food was good so I wanted to give them another chance for dinner. I put in a mobile order for 2 sliders and fries for me and my husband both. I requested pickles on the side and no slaw for both of mine and my husband's was regular. Only one came the way that I asked. I also ordered honey and cutlery. Of which we got none. The cherry on top was that we ordered one regular Oreo shake and one large Oreo shake. When my husband came to the car he had two regulars and had to go back in to get the large. Which, I typically wouldn't make a big deal about but, a large shake with extra Oreo is $12.49. While they did make that right it just added to the fact that they don't seem to actually be reading the orders as they come in. Being both orders I placed were to go I wasn't able to go back up to the counter and get them fixed. The second time the fries were warm and the chicken portions were very generous. Overall the food was tasty. I just wish they'd pay more attention to how orders are put in.

Very good food, friendly staff and reasonably fast service during the lunch rush. The ambiance was typical of a fast food restaurant. More tables would be a plus. BTW, I love spicy, but I ordered the Hot since this was my first visit. That level is all I'll ever need. Can't imagine what the next two higher spicy level are like. At its opening, the chicken servings were good portion size and worth the price. The last 3 times I've been, the chicken sizes were so tiny compared to previous times. And thus the prices were not entirely worth it. These last few times I got the chicken slider and it came with only 3 tiny strips of chicken. Super disappointed in the portion size. Also, the last time I went, the cashier had asked me to write a Google Review for a free gift card. I thought it was weird & very unprofessional for them to ask me to do this. Then I thought, "Whatever, I guess they might be a little desperate for good reviews & I'll get a free gift card out of it." I agreed to do it. After asking him how I would receive the gift card he told me that the gift card was actually for him, not for me. I felt a bit misled by him having explained the situation to me beforehand as something else, granted there may have been some miscommunication. Regardless, I thought it was very unprofessional & I've definitely noticed the prices remaining high for a very unfair amount of food. Seems to me like the quality of service and food has gone down only a few months after its opening. The quality & standards of the establishment might need to be revamped by management. read more

I placed an online order when i came to the store to pick it up say my name and she said one minute. I saw my order came out on top of the counter to be bag and it took her 15 mins to bag it and give it to me. What did she do in between you ask just looking lost trying to fix messed up orders. We were so disappointed. The chicken was over cooked and very dry. The nuggets were like shoe leather and served with stone cold fries. The slider was tough and also overcooked. There was no reason to ever return to the cold, hollow building with raunchy music and hard metal chairs. The staff were unfriendly and not interested in customer service of any kind. 7.5/10 uhhh i don't have a picture but i fucked up the sliders. Personally i think drake gassed it up too much but it's still alright. The dry rub is not my fav but at least it's not super dry. Dave's Hot Chicken was created by best friends Dave Kopushyan, Arman Oganesyan, and Tommy and Gary Rubenyan. Dave, a chef trained in Thomas Keller's (French Laundry) organization set out to create the perfect Hot Chicken by searching, tasting, and frying. The four friends scrounged up $900 to put a tiny stand in an East Hollywood parking lot. The menu was simple, and chicken was the star. And what chicken it is! Sourced and prepared to be the juiciest and most tender imaginable with each piece topped with Dave's own mix of spices ranging from "Mild" to "The Reaper". Arman created Instagram buzz and the lines began to grow. Two nights later, Eater/LA showed up to see what the fuss was about. The next morning's headline read "East Hollywood's Late Night Chicken Stand Might Blow Your Mind". Almost instantly, the lines stretched around the block. A year later, the boys had the money to open a shop in a hip strip-mall with de_cor by local street artists, where the crowds continued to grow with wait-times of an hour and more. From there, the incredibly craveable "Hot and Spicy" varieties have created a cult following with rave reviews across the U.S. and Canada.

History

Established in 2017.

In 2017, four childhood friends came up with a simple concept -- take Nashville Hot Chicken and make it better than anyone else in America. With only a couple thousand dollars to their name, they boot-strapped a pop-up concept in a parking lot in East Hollywood serving a simple menu of tenders, sliders, fries, and kale slaw -- they created a viral cult following with lines consistently over an hour long. After 6 months of running the pop-up with long lines, the team took the plunge and opened their first physical store in January 2018 in a sleepy strip center in East Hollywood. Demand for their crave-able hot chicken exceeded all expectations and sales have grown every month since opening with consistently long lines throughout the day.

We've been to other locations and this one was just as nice and as efficient. We chose the 2 piece chicken. I had sides of salad and pinto beans and my husband had mashed and corn. The chicken is always hot and juicy with a good flavor. I'm not sure why we don't stop here more often. Service is always top notch. The food is good, fresh off the grill and at a decent price. For fast food, it is surprisingly healthy too. There are choices for lean meals that are tasty and good for you. I definitely will be back!

Fast food are supposed to be about making exact same thing no matter which location you go to, right? If the experience is not unique to the location, I usually don't see the point reviewing. Well, I gotta stuff to say about what I ate here, because there was something I really disliked about what I ate and it was unique to this location so here I go. There was a really weird after taste on both chicken and fries that I ate. I could only assume to the oil used was rancid. I am not sure what the protocol is on how frequent the frying oil needs to be changed, but I am convinced this protocol was largely ignored. I learned something new today. When the oil is rancid enough, there is a bitter after taste that lingers in your mouth for very long time. The fried chicken was rejected by my 2 yr old boy after 1 bite. He never refused fried chicken in his life time until today. I don't know if this place just got lazy on their policy because it was a new years day but if they are going to serve that kind of food, they should be closed for the day instead.

I'm not sure if they're diluting the seasoning (why is the chicken so bland when KFC is known for being overly salty?), adding flour to their breading to stretch it (probably why the breading is gummy), or putting more cabbage and water to the coleslaw (no tang and barely sweet), but everything here tastes weak. Half of the soda fountain options were even out of syrup, and I'd be angry as hell if I got something to go and ended up getting club soda instead of Sierra Mist. The chicken isn't even crispy despite coming out hot, and it makes me think they're frying at too low a temp to save power or something. Just skip this place.

But the sandwich was served up on fresh sourdough and the bacon was chopped up into tiny pieces so it was so easy to eat without tugging, and served with avocado slices, tomato, lettuce and the right amount of mayo ratio (which was important). The homemade lemonade was a treat. And I had the garlic fries--delicious! As mentioned, I'm still thinking about how good that sandwich was. The place isn't huge but they seat a lot of people. Apparently, closing in 30 minutes means customers are no longer welcome to dine in. The employee was polite, but that doesn't make up for a terrible policy. The biggest issue was that they completely messed up my order. I ordered a bowl and instead received a sandwich with a meat I don't even eat. By the time I got home and realized their mistake, I called immediately. I even offered to drive all the way back to pick up the correct order myself. Their response was basically, "Too bad, the kitchen is closed." So let me get this straight: they make the mistake, charge me for food I never ordered, send me home with something I didn't want, and then refuse to fix it because they closed the kitchen. That's not customer service--that's taking someone's money and leaving them stuck with the consequences of your own mistake. A business should stand behind its orders and correct its mistakes. Instead, they chose the easiest option for themselves and left me paying for food I couldn't even enjoy. Completely unacceptable. I will not be returning, and I would strongly recommend others think twice before spending their money here.
