The newest the biggest and the best Dave's Markets are a group of seven or eight stores and is the largest independent grocery chain in the state of Rhode Island. This is the newest one and I believe the largest. All the Dave's are nice but some tend to be a bit on the small side. That means they don't have an exceptionally large inventory and you can't always get what you want. That problem is eliminated with this store and it's large enough to have just about anything you could desire. All the Dave's have great bakery's, produce and seafood departments but this store goes further and also has a great deli and pizza and salad bars. You can get all types of cool and freshly prepared food . When we were there it was packed with customers but they had lots of employees so getting in and out was relatively quick and painless. The folks working at all the Dave's tend to be pleasant, unlike the snooty and splenetic cashiers that can occasional be encountered at other stores. I enjoy going to all the Dave's but because of the size and selection this one has now become my new favorite. A cool place to find cool stuff to eat. read more

Although this is not my local Dave's store, I came here the night before Thanksgiving, since I was already doing errands nearby, and needed to finish my holiday meal grocery shopping. Besides, my employer was kind enough to give me a gift card to Dave's! Anyway, this is one of the nicer Dave's locations, and certainly more visually appealing (both inside and out) than the Coventry location I usually frequent. I also find this parking lot much easier to navigate (the Coventry store's parking lot is a sh*tshow). I try to avoid buying the bulk of staple grocery items here, since they tend to be fairly expensive, and selection is somewhat limited. But, Dave's produce and baked goods are good quality, so it's easy to find what you need for a holiday meal here. People tend to rave about their pizza and other hot, prepared foods, but I find those mediocre, and the same boring, limited choices. It would be nice if they changed up their prepared food offerings. Also, they start putting away the hot foods after 7 p.m., so if you arrive after that, you might get some pizza if you're lucky - or else, plan on using your microwave on some cold, prepared food. Dave's beats the pants off of Stop & Shop when it comes to checking out quickly. I hate grocery shopping (and shopping in general), so I want to get out of the store as fast as possible - I think that's why I shop at Dave's more than my budget would like. read more

What ever they have on so called sale I can get somewhere else cheaper. They have taken advantage of the pandemic in my opinion more than any others big markets, and people waste their money going there. I hope they go out of business, the sooner the better. read more

I shop at Dave's even though I literally have 4 "big-box" markets within a 3 mile radius of my house. The store is ALWAYS clean, it's quiet (no tacky music blaring from the loudspeakers), the employees are super friendly and helpful, and whereas the prices may be a little higher, it's worth it because the quality cannot be beat! Their seafood counter is always stocked with FRESH seafood...the butcher counter is filled with the best cuts of meat, the bakery always has something yummy, and the deli...oh the deli! They have the best cold cuts, the best salads (3 kinds of potato salad, 3 kinds of pasta salad, 2 kinds of cole slaw), and LOTS of prepared foods perfect for a quick but delicious dinner! They also have a "hot bar" with prepared foods, soup, and a few varieties of dim sum. And fresh made pizza! You go to the counter, tell them what kind you want and they make it FRESH while you shop! The best thing about Dave's? The checkout! The cashiers are super friendly, they take care in bagging your groceries by frozen foods, meats, seafood, etc, no "self checkout" (I hate those damn things! I work hard enough...at the end of the day I have to checkout and bag my OWN groceries? NO THANK YOU!)...You never have to wait in line very long, and NO customer card needed! EVERYONE gets the same price.... You can also sign up to get their sales circular by email 2 days before everyone else gets it! And they also have fantastic midweek specials. While, like most Dave's locations, this store doesn't have the wide-ranging selection of products the major chains do, what it does have is a superior selection of high quality fresh products, such as fruits and vegetables, deli, and meats and seafoods. If I need to buy staples in bulk, I probably wouldn't buy them here, but for anything else, I like it a lot. Easy access, lots of parking, excellent staff, and not crowded like some of the other locations. read more

Let's be serious - there's little reason for one to not love Dave's! From their locally sourced food, reasonable prices, WIDE variety of prepared foods, and complimentary (good!) coffee...it's easy to get lost in the aisles filled with products you don't find at your large corporate supermarkets. The staff are always friendly and approachable. You will find there aren't the crazy sales you'll see in other places, but everything is always doable. Daves Is always very clean and the staff is quick and polite. I don't do my usual weekly shopping here, but I come here about once a week for a quick dessert or for a fast dinner when I'm running behind. The hot bar and prepared foods are delicious. The soups are always different and fresh, and the pizza makes a good lunch on the run. The prices are not as good as other markets in the area, but then again you get what you pay for. On a weeknight after a long day of work I'm willing to pay a little extra to get what tastes like a home cooked dinner on the table quickly. read more

Another 5'er for the roster. This place is GOOD! It makes Whole Foods look like a Stop&Shop - no joke. Their produce is fresh (though, truth be told it is a tad difficult to find a decent selection of organic produce - don't be fooled by the fancyness of everything, it's still herbicide and pesticide laden) but the reason I won't knock down a star is cuz the prices were wicked cheap, and the freshness of the produce kicks most market's asses. Like, your kale won't be wilted 24 hours later. I got an ungodly amount of produce (and cotton balls) for $20: 2 bunches kale, 2 bunches parsley, 2 hot house tomatoes, a bunch of ginger, handful of sun dried tomatoes... oh, wait... maybe this isn't that much stuff for $20. No mind. I'm in a New York state of mind (or Cali) where things truly are shockingly pricey. So I'm forever anesthetized to what normal prices are supposed to be like. Oh! There was also a nice wad of basil in this purchase... Which, irritatingly, I still cannot figure out how to properly store. I cut the stems, then put in a glass of cold water with the leaves not touching - and within hours, it's sad and wilted!!! WTF?! Store clerks were kindly. There's a nice gathering area as well where you can meet with old pals and gobble the fruits of your purchases. read more

Dave's Market in North Kingstown are a bunch of crooks!! They had expired sour cream and I didn't notice the dates and they won't take them back, unfortunately I couldn't findy receipt. The manager was rude and he said they couldn't have come from his shelves outdated. I guess they never make mistakes. I wouldn't have driven all the way back there if I didn't get them there. They made me feel like a thief!!! I shop there all the time and obviously they don't feel customer service is important at all!! The seafood attendant is miserable and rude. I love Dave's stores in general. The produce is always fresh, the people are always friendly and helpful, nice selection of both local and high-end products, bright, clean, thoughtfully laid-out and decorated... This location blew me away with their prepared food section. My little brother and I drooled as we walked by all the sandwiches and just had to have them heat some fat Stromboli slices up for us. I work at one of the facilities down in Quonset and this is the most convenient and clean market to ever exist. If I need lunch or to pick something up on my way home it's an easy stop. Parking is never an issue, check out is great as they always have a full string of cashiers. The pizza is so good! We have ordered pizzas for work functions, we usually place it a week ahead because it is a large order, call and confirm the day of pickup to make sure there's no issues and upon receipt of our items there has never been a mess up. The sushi bar is wonderful and fixes the sushi cravings between the sweet potato sushi roll and the spicy shrimp roll. If I'm feeling a panini the turkey, bacon, avocado hits the spot! I preferably like to shop at Dave's for all meat and seafood because it is great quality and price as opposed to other local grocery stores in the area. read more

This is one of the newer Dave's Marketplaces. I really like it alot. The interior in well laid out and unlike the other Dave's, there is plenty of space to move around. The staff is really friendly and attentive. They go the extra mile for sure. I like it when staff start up random conversations with you because it makes you feel welcome. Prices were on point with the other locations as well. It is a little bit more expensive than Stop and Shop, but in a sense, it is worth it! read more

Always a great place to go when you can't decide what you want for lunch. They have a hot bar, salad/soup bar, freshly made pizza and sandwiches, a full deli and in house made sushi. I like how they display their vegetables. They have a nice selection of baked goodies in the back. Their meat selection is decent too. The people who work there have ALWAYS been welcoming and nice. Awful experience with the pizza kitchen today. Called at 430 for one pizza, was told it would be ready in a half hour. Get there after five and was told they were behind and it would be another 15 minutes. I left to pick up my son at daycare and came back. Asked at 530 how much longer it would take and they said it hadn't even been put in the oven yet. Completely unacceptable. I told them to forget it. If it was just me, it would have been one thing, but having my 3 year old son with me and them not saying anything about how far behind they were and me standing there struggling to keep a toddler quiet in a basket for 15 minutes..again, completely unacceptable. I asked to speak to a manager and explained what had happened and that I was very unhappy. I go to that Dave's all the time and spend a lot of money there and my company spends a ton of money there on catering, gift cards, etc. He said he was very sorry, the pizza kitchen was very backed up and asked if he could get me a gift card, which I declined. At that point, it shouldn't have been a question of if he could get me one, but an automatic, let me get you a gift card. I left with my toddler, with no pizza into the pouring rain. Awesome. Only if there was one near home. It would be my market. Stepped right in and bypassed the produce and went straight to the light.... A bar area full of fresh pizza slices. Omg heaven. Got the roasted veggie and wow. Crunchy and tasty. Lots of veggies too. It has a wide variety of prepared foods. And the bakery. Omg the bakery. A must try is the chocolate cream cheese muffin. I love Dave's! Great selection, prices and service. However, the Quonset store is very difficult to navigate. The narrow aisles are tough enough to work within but, then, some geniuses have erected storage racks and shelves for impulse purchases in all the aisles. The result is huge traffic jams in every aisle. When someone stops at a shelf to select a purchase (rarely from the racks in the aisles) only one cart at a time can get through. People and carriages get backed up 4 and 5 deep because they can't get around the racks. This adds lots of time and frustration to our shopping experience. Make no mistake about it, if money were never an object I would never go anyplace other than Dave's. The market, food, prepared items, even the people there are beautiful..And one thing they do that I never seen anywhere else is that they always have all of their registers open. I have never really waited in line there...Maybe just one person ahead of you and then you're in. But lets get real here. This place is expensive. They have good sales and I take advantage of them often, but never do my regular shopping here. The few times I have been there for their sale items and did a little more shopping I have paid a good price for it..Things like their ketchup, soups, peanut butter, anything that is outside their sale items are just way too high. I know many of the other reviewers here love to gush over their being so pretty and everything being so fresh, but honestly, I really don't see any difference in their meats, produce, or anything else as to being superior...Just more expensive is all. (And trust me, I really get around as to comparison shopping). Like I said, I wish I had the money to go here all the time but that is just not happening. And don't listen to all the other Dave groupies that claim their prices are great for they are, or must be full of shit...Recommended for their sales, excellent pizza and prepared food, but not for their being your regular store unless you have the dollars to spend... read more
