Ok, I have to edit this.... A mistake was made... Stop and Shop, doing a good job with the meat…read moreslicing. Total misunderstanding... so, take this with a grain of salt, I was upset about some sliced turkey... it my comments about the ambience, not withstanding... This is likely the most under maintained and aged Stop & Shop around. It's bleak inside, and frankly depressing. My most recent experience, I had purchased some Boars Bead presliced turkey. Upon trying to utilize this turkey at home I realized this was nothing more than nearly shaved, compressed turkey. Yes, it was sliced, but it was not possible to peel the slices apart. It really shows poor quality control, a lack of care on the meat departments part; but the credit of this disappointment goes to management. It's like the rotten blueberries that shouldn't be sitting out for purchase. It would be great is stawp and shawp closed some of it locations and let some other markets that care about the overall experience and general quality, instead of focusing on holding a position in the neighborhood. It would be one thing if their prices were great, but they are not even that. Do Yourself a massive favor and go somewhere else. The general abandoned feeling at this S&S leads me to believe that this place is an episode of unsolved crimes. Next time I go, I am going to bring my friend cadaver sniffing service dog. Pray we don't get any hits. OMG, I just went to take a picture of the meat for this review... it was from Dave's... WTF Dave! Your review is coming up.

Nice bright Stop & Shop, located in a business area where there's a Home Depot, a Walmart, a CVS…read moreand several fast food restaurants, so it's a busy area. I went to get some firewood and they had some at good prices. They were right outside by the curb, so it was easy to find. The inside of the store is similar to others, where the produce section is the first thing you see when you come into the main entrance. Nice staff, very helpful, when I had a question.

I absolutely loved this supermarket!!! I've never heard of Shaw's before, and I have to admit that…read moreI was a little hesitant about going because the reviews are not that great... which... why? this place is Amazing!! Especially for their weekly sales items, really good deals. We bought this frozen shrimp bag that was on sale, and it has to be some of the best shrimp I've had. We got the 5lb bag of King Arthur flour on sale for 2.99!!! I've never seen it that cheap before. We also got coffee on sale at a great price, their deals are worth the visit for sure.

In general, I can find anything I need over here, as long as you stay within the realms of western cooking. So, what that entails I can pork loins for a roast. I can find brisket, I can find chuck, I can find...................really thin cuts of ribeye. Like...really really thin. Like, so thin that I could probably cook it medium rare by waving it above my computer case once or twice. Ok, sorry, I digress. If you want to make a ragu sauce, you can find everything that you need here. An alfredo sauce? Yup, that too. Beef stew? Go for it! It also has all the chicken and spices you'd need to make a fried chicken. It does have an international section, but it's..............not impressive. I mean, sure, there's some items, but you can't make a proper anything, tbh. Miso soup? We got half of what you need! Ramen? Uhhh, we got instant. Also have Ramune and Calpis for the weebs. That said, they do have panko if you want to make a katsu. They do have a pretty good produce section. Like, decent selection of fruits that are in season. Plenty of bell peppers, red, orange, yellow, and green. I can usually get jalapenos and habaneros here, although if you're looking for other types of chili peppers, it can be hit or miss. And the habaneros are sometimes still green. No real produce for Asian cooking here (except for shiitake mushrooms), so you won't find anything like burdock root or daikon...maybe bok choy or kabocha every so often. The spice section is pretty nice. Good, wide selection. Most of them are in pretty small containers, though. So if you need anything other than pre-ground cassia (I refuse to call that stuff cinnamon) in a large quantities, you might be out of luck. But...because the spices are in small containers, it's great for sampling. Most of the time when I come here, I like to grab a spice I haven't used before, haven't used in a long time, or haven't learned how to use properly.
