Driving my 2000 Ford F-150 over to Napa and the tailpipe falls off of the muffler on the highway. Dave's Muffler & Brake come highly recommended. I was on a road trip from the Phoenix area to Sonoma to visit and had some issues with the wear on my car (1997 Explorer). A friend of mine recommended Dave's. I went there and they couldn't have been more pleasant and helpful. I was on there for two days so they checked my car the first day. They identified several issues in addition to the normal 3,000 mile maintenance. They ordered the parts needed and installed every thing the following morning. I was good to go at noon. On the ride home it was clear that they had been accurate - a persistent low level rattle was gone, a tendency to drift right was gone and overall a quieter ride, GREAT JOB!! read more

My car didn't pass smog, so I took it here. They charged me $500, and it still failed the smog test, in fact emissions were actually HIGHER after taking it to them. Got the catalytic converter replaced by a different auto shop and it solved the issue entirely. Went back there and they refused to admit that they should've just put in a new catalytic converter and wouldn't refund any money. Stay away, they're scammers. read more

I found the Mercedes auto repair of my dreams. I've been taking my truck to Daves Muffler, who has expanded to auto repair. When my mercedes wagon needed service I called Dave. The wagon needed b, d, and e service and it was clear the brakes needed to be done. He did the full b, d, and e, replaced the front brake pads and sensors, the lower ball joints and changed the brake fluid, using all mercedes parts, all for $900. It's hard to find a decent place around Sonoma to get an oil change. I've been taken advantage of in the past, charged for repairs that I'm pretty certain weren't a problem at all, but I know nothing about cars. Recently every light on my dashboard had been going off, "Check oil-filter-tire pressure-tire maintenance". I still had 500 miles left before an oil change was required, but better safe than sorry. I was delighted to find a business close by that mentions oil changes in their add. I took my car there yesterday. Devon at the front counter was great. They got my car in quickly, took a screw out of a tire and patched it up (remember the tire maintenance light?) Got the oil and filter changed and now the lights are all off and my car is purring like a kitten. And I paid less than I thought it was going to cost me! I didn't get a chance to meet Dave, but I'm giving a thumbs up to the rest of the crew! read more
