Feeling kinda ripped off by these guys. Had a drain in the battery, took my car there and they said that I needed a new battery. I had just purchased one a few days prior, but they said it was defective, and they would return it for me and replace it. It's possible right? I told them I needed a diagnostic and that the battery was new. They never ran the diagnostic, but instead charged me over $200.00 for getting another battery and putting it in. I could have, (and previously did), done that myself. Meanwhile, my car continued to have starting problems because they did not take the time to find out what the real problem was. Which is why I took my car there in the first place. Find another mechanic. read more

Just dropped in without any apt! I came over here because I knew they were, but had never been. Due to recently purchasing a vehicle I had to get a smog. I drove there this morning, they got me in within 5 minutes, had an man performing the smog check within the next 5, the older gentleman who possible owns the shop is so nice!!! He told me about 45 minutes, they were done within 20 minutes, had all the paperwork ready to go. & sent me away with roadside assistance for no additional cost to me! The smog was about 68$ & I will def be going back for any other services I need to have done! Thank you again!! read more

Needed a smog check, and thought I would stop by Broadway Auto, as they have always gone above and beyond. Lucky me, they could have my car done within the hour. With COVID, I was a little apprehensive about going, but needed it done. Within a few minutes, I was told about all the precautions they would take while I was there. I was approached with a gentleman wearing a mask. He then pointed to an area under an umbrella, of which tables and chairs 6 feet apart. He said he disinfects after every client. When my car was pulled out, same man, the owner I believe, disinfected my entire car. Not with a little can of spray, a huge machine that fogged up my entire car. He ask me to wait an appropriate time to get in. When I paid, that too was disinfected in front of me, then handed me a disinfected towel. All I can say is hats of to Broadway Shell......and of course thank you. read more

Full-service gas station. No seriously. The attendants come out to help you. They refuse tips and believe in good old-fashioned service. And they have promotions and give you these scratcher tickets and chances to win cash and register on their website - A gas station CRM program - nice. Yeah, at a gas station. I was so amazed I decided to check out their store and other services as well...store/cashier area has bare minimum. I believe they have a garage as well...I never do more than gas here but dry by it all of the time. At the end of the day, if you end up leaving town along highway 12 make sure to hang a left and stop here. Because if you pull into the station on the right. No live people will be there. read more

I needed a smog check and called 5 places. Three didn't answer the phone, one had an answering machine, one was "come and wait". Broadway Auto Care was the only one that allowed me to make an appointment. They finished within the timeframe that they promised. I made an appointment to have new tires placed on my car and to have them aligned....dropped off at 11am, was called at 2pm to picked up.... after i paid, the guy says , ok, the tires are not aligned yet and it will take 4 hours to do that so you need to come back. WTH! No one o know buys tires or puts tires on without alignment.... AWFUL, I will never be back and would suggest everyone stays away! read more

Buyer Beware! Expect dubious integrity and the small town "screw" when pursuing a repair here. I had the air suspension system fail on my vehicle, indicating an obvious malfunction in the air compressor unit. Hoping to get the repair done locally in Sonoma and avoid having to limp my car to an out of town garage, I contacted Andy at Broadway Shell. I informed him up front of how much the OEM compressor costs online and that it is reasonably estimated to take under two hours to perform the replacement. Andy said he understood, and that I could trust him to get the job done, reasonably. He then kept the car for a day and a half to diagnose the issue for himself (even though I already very clearly laid this out for him), and he charged me his minimum fee of $150 for that time. As for the part and labor, he indicated it would be an additional $1696 to perform the repair. What a shock! When I asked how he could charge almost double what a more professional and better qualified specialty garage would charge for the same repair, he simply replied "that is what I charge, and if you don't like it you can pick up your car". I picked up my car and got the repair done via a specialist in Napa, for $960 out the door. Suffice it to say Andy has blown his credibility, and I will not be recommending his services. I'm really not sure why these reviews are so positive. Each time my boyfriend and I have taken our vehicles here we have been totally ripped off. I asked to have only one headlight replaced and they went ahead and changed AND charged me for both without my consent so I demanded a refund for the 2nd one. Also, I was told my battery was about to die on me and would cost me $300 to replace, but when I got it checked elsewhere they told me it had plenty of life in it and that $300 for a battery is unheard of. Trust me, there are much better places. read more

I was pleased with the service I received on my 1991 car with an engine UNDER THE FRONT SEAT. The company called me by accident when I was seeking a mechanic. So I figured I should take the car there. It needed more than just a simple fix, so they repaired and replaced a lot of old parts while they had the engine out. It's running like a top now. Do not get your car smogged here, or any kind of work done here. I had a simple sensor problem and they came back at me asking for hundreds of dollars to fix un-related problems. When I pointed out the problem was a sensor, they hemmed and hawed and played dumb, knowing full well the problem was a simple $50 fix. They are out to get your money and damage your car at this station. read more

Classic smog SCAM. They did a full exam even though they were going to fail it for a modification. Was told I had to replace it back to stock and then come back for re-test at full price. Could have told me at first that it would fail due to the aftermarket parts but chose to due a full test. Which it passed. Tried talking to owner (Andy) but he just said the re-test is only free if he does the repairs. Will go back to Steve's since they are great. read more

Andy at Broadway Shell and his staff absolutely rock. I called to schedule a smog inspection and was taken care of immediately. They said an hour, and they were done in an hour, as promised. They are all super polite, honest, fast, efficient, everything you want when you're taking your car in for any kind of auto work. I think most Sonoman's don't realize there is a full automotive service shop right there at our Shell gas station, and we should get the word out.
