Lithia Toyota in Springfield worked on diagnosing the hybrid battery and said I needed a new battery. But when I left the navigation and the radio and Mirrors wouldn't work. they said I needed a now navigation system. Dave discovered the dealer removed all of the fuses that controlled the system. His work on our Pius was better than any service I had at other shops. five stars is not enough but that is what was available. read more

My wife and I bought a 2005 Prius from Dave just a few weeks ago. He doesn't have a large selection, but what he does have are cars that have been thoroughly gone over and things like tires, belts, hoses, fluids are brand new and everything else has been carefully inspected. Dave and his team have decades of experience with Toyota and hybrids in particular. Dave is not your typical second hand car dealer, he is honest, clear and up front about everything. Normally I would be concerned about buying a 17 year old car, but knowing that Dave went through it and will be there in future to take care of issues that come up, is very comforting. My car has been having issues with acceleration and the tire light coming on due to a wiring issue, I brought it here to have them diagnose it and fix what they found. They called me to let me know what they had found and told me it'd be 2000 to fix everything so I asked him to just fix the urgent things as I can't afford 2000. He gave me an estimate for when my car would be done and then never called to update me. I called after the time he told me had past and he had gone home for the day and ther person there told me it'd be done the next day. When I called the next day Dave was very apparently irritated that I had spoken to the other person working there and tried to gaslight me into thinking that I was in the wrong. Now that I have had my car back for a few days things they said they had fixed are not fixed at all so I looked into some of the things they did and I literally could have done one of the "repairs" myself. They charged me 150 for that specific thing and I could've rented a reader from auto zone and done it myself. I'm extremely displeased. They most definitely took advantage of the fact that I am a young female, it was clear they thought I didn't know anything about cars but I do have enough knowledge about them to know I got royally fucked out of $1155 dollars. read more

Dave saved the day! On our way to the Portland Airport we stopped to get gas in Albany. We noticed the car was overheating. I called the nearest auto shop and luckily it was Dave's Performance Hybrids. While my wife took a Lyft to Corvallis to get a rental car, Dave personally came to look at our car (2000 Acura RL). Dave diagnosed the problem, added missing coolant and I drove a half mile to his shop where we left the car while we were out of town. By the time we got back the car was repaired! Dave's Performance Hybrids was recommended to me by another extremely satisfied customer to take care of my Prius when my car, as I was to find out later, had a failed inverter for the second time. My 2012 Prius was upwards of 175k miles, and I've done little to service short of get in and go, synthetic oil changes, tires and breaks. Dave answered me via text when his shop was closed, and allowed me to have my car towed to his shop on Memorial Day weekend, saving me from leaving it in my friend's driveway for days. Promptly upon opening next day of business, Dave called me with the rundown. He told me of things that were critical to complete, could stand to be completed, and not necessary. He also, most importantly to me, determined that my inverter repair, which I had already had done at another shop in March of 2017 with a refurbished part from eBay, should have been covered on an extended warranty by the dealer both at the point the dealer diagnosed in 2017, and this go round. Over the next couple of days, Dave quickly took care of the service requirements for my vehicle. He printed out all of the paperwork I would then need, and coached me on what to say to secure the warranty repair that should have been completed the first time when I was instead quoted close to 4k for repair. In the end, Dave stayed available and involved until my warranty service was complete at dealership, and I was reimbursed the out of pocket I had paid originally for same repair. The dealer made right by the original point of dropping the ball, but I'm confident this would not have been recognized the second time either had I not been armed with information. I would absolutely recommend Dave for any hybrid need. Thank you Dave!!! My car has increased 10 miles per gallon from the maintenance and repairs. read more
