My car broke down. Called my road side assistance who in turn called Dave's Towing. They gave an estimated arrival time of hour. They were there in about 35 minutes. The gentleman that arrived was very polite. Explained how he would be hooking up car. I was a little apprehensive about being by myself and having to deal this this but the man, who said his name is Cooter was professional. My car was towed and I received a ride home. I recommend their services and hopefully you get Cooter as your tow man! read more

If I could give this company zero stars, I would. My family and I had a very concerning experience with one of this company's drivers. We were traveling in the correct lane to proceed straight, while the company vehicle was in a designated turning lane. When the light turned green, we proceeded straight as expected. Instead of turning, the driver also attempted to continue straight, nearly forcing our vehicle off the road. This was extremely dangerous and could have resulted in a serious accident involving my entire family. The driver's demeanor afterward also gave me the impression that he was aware he had made a serious driving error. I strongly believe this company needs to be aware of how its drivers are operating their vehicles and should take incidents like this seriously. When a company vehicle is on the road, the driver's actions reflect directly on the company. Thankfully, we were able to avoid an accident, but the situation could have ended very differently. I hope management addresses this matter and takes the necessary steps to ensure the safety of other drivers and families on the road. Please do better. read more

Do not use this place. These people are thieves! Requested we pay in cash, which we did, and then put a lien on our tag stating we didn't pay! Sign says they take credit cards but the rude woman at the front states they only take cash. No policies or procedures to show this request. On 06/26/25 we were involved in a hit and run accident on 441 & 326 in Ocala. We were told we had to wait for a police report & finally retrieved it while in HCA Ocala on 06/29/25. We called them on Sunday, 06/29/25 & was told we owed them for 4 days & a $250 lien had been placed on the motorcycle. Robert Partin, the driver had been in surgery on 06/28/25 to correct his shoulder & collar bone. The woman, Sarah Beth, cussed him out & hung up on him when he asked why he was being overcharged for the services. I, Jessica Hardaway, called back and they refused to speak with me over the phone. I asked to come by that day & she told me that they are not open on sundays to the public & I would be charged an additional day, on Monday, 06/30/25 for storage fees. We made multiple efforts to contact them again regarding the situation. I filed a complaint with BBB 12 days after the accident, the date was 07/11/25 because we went to retrieve property from the vehicle & they refused to let us dispute the claim. They also responded 10 days ago on 08/05/25 on BBB that they told us we just needed to give them proof of insurance to retrieve the vehicle. We were there on 07/11/25 with the title & all legal documentation to prove it belonged to Robert. We are planning to file a legal lawsuit against them for price gouging, negligence & high way robbery. They notified us as of 07/26/25 that they put the bike up for auction & that we were not allowed to do anything about it. We are victims of a crime, a hit & run in Marion county. The judicial & legal system has completely failed us as citizens of this county. I have proof of other similar stories to include with my claim. We will not stop until this company is held responsible & accountable for theft. We want the price of the motorcycle we paid plus what they were paid to auction it off for restitution of the losses we suffered during this horrific incident. The first time I ever had a towing company cuss me out and hang the phone up on me the day after I had my Cadillac towed to my mechanic's office. I was simply filing a claim with them because of the fact that the driver hook up the chains in the front right next to my oil line which is pressurized and after snapping a picture for confirmation he leaves real quickly as if in a hurry. Not even ten minutes maybe not even five minutes after leaving my oil line bust and starts speeding oil all over my mechanics property! Now if I am responsible for that then I am sorry for all that's in this review but I don't believe that I am responsible for the negligence of that driver hooking the front chains so close to that pressure line and I should not have to incur the cost of the parts and the labor it's going to be to repair that line. This should be filed under there insurance is what my insurance GEICO told me and that's exactly what I tried doing. When making connections with the office personal on Sunday 10/20 I was told to go f$&@ myself and go talk to an attorney because I would have to sue them over this to be hung up on there after. To me own the responsibility of the careless mistake your driver caused and do the next right thing as a local business that services many insured motorist. read more

I had been trying to get a tow from AAA since Friday at 2pm. Never got any help at all from my AAA membership. Finally Monday morning I called Dave's Towing and within 15 minutes, I got a call that Dave was on his way and here was here a few minutes after and he loaded my car out of a tight garage and got it on the way dealer. Extremely nice and so professional. My driveway and garage were not easy to maneuver around but Dave made it look easy! After fighting with AAA for 3 days this was the easiest tow I have ever had. Driver was an old man who stopped DIRECTLY ACROSS THE STREET FROM MY HOME, so i had to walk out to the driveway and frantically wave my arms to get his attention, but he obviously was NOT paying attention, and he simply DROVE OFF. HORRIBLE company....AVOID at all costs!!!! A suv was being donated to us and the dmv said that there was a tow lien on it from this company so I reached out and WOW HORRIBLE!!! 1st call they said, after giving them the vin and name from the title, the guy stated that it's not in their system and the dmv is wrong...ok so I went with that. Two weeks later, after they ignored my 5 e-mails, came the real story. The owner of this suv died three years ago but his heirs never took it out of his name and instead just left it parked since they didn't want it. The vehicle that they towed on 1/22/22 was a car owned by the grandson and both of their names were on that title. The grandson never paid the bill for that towing and the person I was e-mailing from: 'Hello Towbizz' towbizz58@aol.com said the lien was NOT on the dead but against the grandson. I said over and over again that the dmv said it was on this suv but this tow company doesn't care. I asked them over and over again to release the lien since they didn't tow this suv and he just kept saying "Payment must be paid in full (cash, cashier's check, or money order)". At this point I just decided to pay it and get it over with since it's being donated so I contacted them and wanted to pay with my credit card and they REFUSE to take it. He states that I have to come in person and pay with either cash, cashier's check, or money order. I told them that I live over an hour away and they just don't care. I asked them again about paying with a credit card and they said again "(cash, cashier's check, or money order)". Now I see on Yelp that they do accept credit cards and even called and again they said they accept credit cards but they still REFUSE to accept it to pay this bill. I said to them over and over again that I'm NOT the owner or the person that they towed on 1/22/22 but they just don't care. So I will drive up there today and pay it in person. This company is just horrible and I will look to report them where ever I can and also talk to a attorney about legal actions. I'm also going to post this every where I can so everyone knows. For your sake I hope you never have to deal with this company or this woman who claims to be the owner of the company. My husband was traveling from Spring Hill to Jacksonville when his car died and would not start near Ocala. I called Dave's Towing from my phone in Spring Hill because my husband was not getting good phone service. The woman who answered the phone said I needed an address to send a truck to get his vehicle. I explained he was on the side of the road at US 441 and NW 85 Loop near a subdivision called Irish Acres. She said she needed an address to tow it to and I explained we are not from there and would want it towed to a Ford dealer. She kept saying she couldn't give me an address of the Ford dealer. When I tried to tell her I understood that and tried to say I would call the Ford dealer and get an address and call her back, she said we will NOT tow you at all and hung up on me. I am amazed that you would allow someone to answer the phone who is that rude and nasty when someone who is stranded in a strange area needs help. After she hung up on me I called her back to ask her name and ask to speak to her supervisor. She informed me that she is the manager. I asked her who is the owner of the company and she informed me that she is the owner. I will continue to try to find the owner of the company because I can't believe it is her. Do not waste your time or $$ with this company! They will NOT come and help you . You'll be stranded for hours . Currently I've been waiting for 3 and a half hours and they won't answer the phone for me and so my insurance company calls them and they tell them give us 30 more minutes. I called again 30 mins later and they said the same thing give them another 30 mins. I'm now aggravated and annoyed I now can't get to work and now I'll have to try it again tomorrow and miss more of work when I just needed a simple tow 15 mins down the road. Extremely rude and unprofessional tow guy Gordon. First, the tow truck was an hour late..apparently this is normal based on other reviews. My mom came back in the house very upset and said the man was very rude. She didn't know where the car was being towed after asking him. He didn't know either till I asked if he had some paperwork. The paperwork had the info. She also needed assistance as she has stage 4 cancer and one eye is blind. She wanted me to come with her, but apparently only one person is allowed. Ok, that's fine. I was overcharged for mileage and waited 2 hrs for driver to show up if I hadn't called back I would still be sitting there multiple hours later. Driver said he wanted cash and I said office said i could pay with card. He said didnt allow riders. I was stunned never heard I could leave car to be picked up later would have gladly done that instead of sitting there waiting. Car was dropped off on county property close to stop sign I better not get a fine for this. I was so totally disillusioned that will never call them again for any reason the cash demand made me very suspicious I refused I don't carry that much cash anyway it was complete corruption front start to finish 100.00 for 1.3 miles. I don't recommend this company at all. They were hired through my insurance company for a tow and I was given an ETA of 60 minutes. After about 70 minutes they called my insurance company to extend it an additional 45 minutes. 55 minutes from that point again, no tow. I contacted them myself and was told it would be at least 30-45 minutes longer. Needless to say, I cancelled my tow with them. Don't use them, you'll never get towed! Around the 2 hour mark I called asking for an update and they could not give me an estimated time except for maybe within 30 minutes. Thirty minutes came and went and still no truck. Eric from Dave's Towing was an absolute pleasure. I broke down driving from Atlanta to Orlando and he showed up in less than 30 minutes, which was half the time they said it'd be over the phone. He reassured me my car would be left in good hands at Patrick's, told me he knew the owner personally and even gave me his personal cell phone number before we left each other and called me once my car was safely left at the repair shop. As a 20 year old girl traveling alone, stressed to the max right before my birthday vacation was supposed to start (now with no car), Eric definitely put myself and my dad at home at ease after having to deal with everything that went on. I am writing this the day before Irma hits FL. I am traveling north to safer grounds. My car died in Ocala. Ins. calls Dave's Towing Service. Shawn came in a relatively short time, even though the traffic was horrendous. Have elderly mother and uncle and 2 dogs. Shawn spent over 2 hours helping us secure a hotel, finding a mechanic to take the car, (after 5), then took us to the other chain hotel since I got the wrong location. Dave's Towing has a very nice truck w/ large bed to tow my Jeep Commander. THEN, the next day, I called them again since the mechanic was hugely inflating his prices in a crisis situation. Shawn came out, we picked up the car and went to another mechanic. Fixed in 45 minutes and $1480 cheaper. Shawn was a blessing in a very stressful situation. We are so thankful for Tim, a fantastic tow truck driver with Dave's Towing. While on a road trip to Michigan, our tire blew and we were stranded on i75. We were unable to release the spare and called for service. Tim came quickly and changed the tire in a flash! He was so professional and caring! Such a bright spot in a bad situation.
