After a quick assessment (I had some additional decay), I was scheduled for this morning. After 2 hours in the office I have a brand new crown. It was really amazing--your teeth are scanned and a computer generates a model crown that Dr. Garcia adjusts. Then the new crown is milled in 15 minutes or so right in the office. After fitting it, the crown is 'baked' for another 20 minutes or so, then Dr. Garcia cements it in place and does final adjustments. All done--in at 9, out at 11 all set and the tooth looks great! There is no metal band showing at the gum line as it is all porcelain. This is so much better than the 'old' way of getting a temporary crown and having to come back in two weeks and the crown really looks more natural.

The office and patients are a diverse, group, and everyone always seems so upbeat. The vibe is also no rush. It's not overly booked, they spread appointments out properly, or they are just so laid back, they act like nothing bothers them. I have a whole series of appointments scheduled, and today I accidentally missed one. No scolding, no rescheduling, no extra charges. Just a pleasant understanding, and they let me come right in, 30 minutes late and took me right back. I was shocked. I was expecting at least a lecture haha. If you know, you know. Not that I recommend being late or no showing. But it seemed they really understood my disabilities, and work really well with me. I feel very respected and relevant. I have cognitive decline and forgetting is a harsh reality of mine. The place is spotless, they are always doing something, no one is sitting around, but no one is overly rushed or overwhelmed. My Dentist was just as sweet, patient, and understanding. Very knowledgeable and I trust them completely. Parking is super easy, and plenty of it. So far, I have had a deep scale cleaning, a crown fixed, and going back next week for a filling. Then we will start working on my gum disease. They offer a lot of services. The horrible part is they even send an email saying confirm your appointment, and guess what it was never confirmed, yet they still want to charge. On top of all this they will schedule for services that your insurance doesn't cover and then say oh we will give you a 10% discount. I came to ROC Perio after…read morea bad experience with a gum graft at a different dental group in the Buffalo area; the gum graft failed and the surgeon could not explain why but still wanted to perform another surgery on me. I did not feel comfortable continuing care at this location and sought out a new provider. I had a family member who had received treatment from Dr.Shang at ROC Perio and had a fantastic experience. From my first visit, I knew I was in capable hands. The office is pristine, the administrative staff worked with me to answer all my insurance-related questions (and I had a lot!), and every dental assistant I worked with was kind, professional, and informative. Dr.Lowenguth is masterful at what she does, which is like plastic surgery in your mouth. Beyond her skill, she was welcoming, caring, and explained my care plan to me at every step of the way. She even shared her personal phone number with me after my surgery and told me to contact her if I had any questions or concerns during recovery. Dr.Lowenguth and her team not only performed a successful gum graft, but gave me the information and tools needed to maintain my dental health for the long term while treating me with the utmost kindness and care along the way. Went here for the first time in October, and wasn't that pleased with them, the periodontist did a…read moreperfunctory first exam and told me to get a cleaning which I did that day at this office. The hygienist also had loads of feedback about what I was doing wrong and wasn't doing right. I listened and went away feeling like this place blames their patients for their periodontal disease, something I'd never felt in over 25 years of visiting periodontists. I religiously followed the hygienist's recommendations for the next six months, got a cleaning at my regular dentist at the three month mark (as I always do), and returned to this practice at the six month mark for another cleaning expecting some positive feedback. Ha! No way! Even though I had followed the advice everyday, twice a day, I was still told it was not good enough. After I pushed back and said I've done exactly what you told me to do for six months, the feedback changed to it's better, but you're still not doing it right. Again, I felt completely to blame for my genetic predisposition to periodontal disease. After all this high and mighty treatment by them, when it came time to schedule my next cleaning, there were no appointments for eight months! I'm supposed to have cleanings every three months rotating between dentist and periodontist. They have oversubscribed their practice to such a degree that they can't provide the timely treatment their patients require. The hygienist didn't think it odd that I was going to be two months late for my next cleaning with them (it would give her more opportunity to chastise me, I guess). It seems this practice is a-ok with their patients with periodontal disease to not receive the treatment they need on the schedule prescribed by both my dentist and the periodontist. Course, I'm not sure what a periodontist would have said that day, I wasn't seen by one at the end of the visit. I was told Dr. Shang (who I had seen in October for an initial exam) wasn't in that day, and I'd have to come back for another appointment to see her, rather than having another available periodontist do an exam, and write some notes for Dr. Shang about my current condition. When I checked out and asked to make that follow-up appointment, I was told they don't make appointments, and that the scheduling coordinator would call me to make the appointment. I had never experienced not being able to make a follow-up appointment at check-out. This seemed to make it inconvenient for the patient who has to be available for a phone call whenever it's convenient for the practice to call. But, I needn't have worried, just as they don't really care that their patients can't get timely treatment, they also don't care if they actually see a periodontist, no one ever called to schedule that appointment. I was told by the hygienist not to worry there'd be no charge for the follow-up appointment with the periodontist b/c it's included in the cleaning fee. I pretty sure there will be no reduction in the cleaning fee by this practice due to no periodontist ever looking in my mouth.

This is where to go to get ripped off. I had a $7000 implant. It FAILED. I had multiple infections…read morebecause of inferior materials used and abundance of cement used. The abutment and crown were stock. Dr. Cabrera wrote up the plan and explicitly wrote custom materials. He stood in the back of the room while a different dentist did the implant. Was I a guinea pig,? I'm a woman of age alone on social security. He made me take a yearly plan to (keep expenses down) claiming it would have been over $8000. I gave them multiple times to rectify the issues but blamed it on other teeth trying to get more money out of me and made derogatory remarks about how my regular dentist would not get me in soon enough. He wanted to charge 2500 for a root canal and crown on the tooth in front of the implant and previously blamed a tooth behind the implant. My dentist sent me to another specialist and both agreed the implant failed. Greece FD never took responsibility for their mistakes. I had the crown and abutment removed and it's deemed unusable. The infections stopped and I have no tooth in place. 7000 down the toilet. I needed a very painful lazar treatment to treat the gum infection when it was removed. He claims to be Christian which was why I chose them. Shame on you Dr. Cabrera and the blaming your associate for the error. He orchestrated the whole thing. Besides who gives away big ticket items and cruises in contests. What other dental practice does that?? Who's paying for those things? His patients.
