Worst experience of my life. You have to remind the techs to change thier gloves the instrument tray was brought over unprotected. The nurse hasn't pleased when I brought up my concerns about how unprofessional and painful the numbing shots were and. The staff talks about clients to each within hear shot of of clients. This place is below standards and should be inspected and audited for hygienic mispractice. Its the worse of the worse even for Rochester. The manager was condescending amd dismissive and wasnt any better. If you value your health please do not come here I left before they worked on me. read more

Never ever again. Staff was rude, x ray tech was rough, even though I complained about pain. All I needed was an extraction of one tooth. They wanted to do more. Waited in pain for days for appointment, tooth got infected, they would not see me until appointment. Ended up going to ER. The front desk staff were consistently rude, dismissive, and unhelpful. Questions were met with frustration, and staff appeared more focused on their phones than assisting patients. My boyfriend was diagnosed with multiple cavities and wisdom tooth issues, yet only one cavity was treated during a scheduled appointment without any prior explanation. Follow-up care was nearly impossible to schedule, calls went unanswered, and we were later told he would need a completely new evaluation with a one-year wait. This lack of care ultimately resulted in a serious dental emergency that required immediate out-of-state treatment and significant out-of-pocket costs. Based on our experience, I would not recommend this office to anyone seeking reliable or compassionate dental care. read more

Nobody working here is pleased to be there nor do I think even qualified to practice. You're hardly recognized from the reception desk to the X-Ray room to the dental cleaning chair. My teeth were cleaned harshly and quickly in 5 minutes by a lady who then told me the way my teeth feel after should be how they always feel. They feel beaten down ma'am, not clean. Dr. Goldstein, is the only one attempting to be personable and nice, however he is unprofessional in his practice. All the medical assistants have long, fake nails (although beautiful), which should not be allowed in any medical practice. The "waiting room" could easily be mistaken for the DMV. It's filled with hard chairs and two bathrooms with doors wide open to the seating area. Truly disgusting. 1 star because, they take my insurance... I guess. However considering the price I'm paying for it, this is disrespectful and even those who can't afford quality care deserve better than this treatment. read more

This dental clinic employs at least one dentist who should have, by now, had their license to practice revoked. He has multiple malpractice lawsuits against his former clinics aimed directly at him. He has lost at least one to my understanding and how he avoided being de-listed is beyond me. A few months ago he prescribed me a mouthwash that contained an abnormal amount of alcohol, despite my protests as my family had a history of alcoholism (I never touch the stuff). I needed treatment but he refused this of me until I did that. Insurance denied his requests for a bunch of cleanings because the number of times I'd have to go in was deemed unnecessary. Take from that what you will. The clinic, to my knowledge, is still employing him. Be warned because they might spin the roulette for you and pair you with him by chance. I was referred to Wilson by the NY Stste Office of Medicaid. I am on Excellus Blue Shield Medicaid. I read on the website that the owner of Wilson Dentail wanting to prevent patients from having to drive over six hours to receive dental care. it seemed. noble I was seen twice and it was determined that I had an infected lower molar which needed extraction, up until this point I'd only seen Dr. Goldstrein whom I liked very much. I showed up for oral surgery and a new oral surgeon had just started working there. I did not receive any antibiotics prior to my oral surgery despite having a long standing infection and many mitigating health conditions ( obesity, high blood pressure, ulcerative colitis, etc). The surgeon came in and started by giving me several shots of Novocain, I am a red head and have a history of not responding completely to anesthesia and Novocain. I did mention this history to the surgeon. he did not appear to care. After 15 minutes the surgeon reemerges and starts poking around and it seems as if I am numb. Wilson dental does nit have nitrous oxide and did not offer any kind of sedation. The surgeon starts pulling on my left back molar. I started screaming it hurts. He told me to stop and said "it's only pressure, not pain.". I stopped him by grabbing his hand after 5 more minutes of his tugging and I was shaking and crying. I told him I wanted him to stop and I thought I was going. to vomit from the sheer agony. he said " I cannot let you leave without removing this tooth, it's very infected." He gave me several more shots of Novacaine. Again he stepped out for 10 minutes. The oral surgical assistant. a Vetetan of the USA having served in the conflicts in Afghanistan and Iraq was kind, attentive and apologetic. If not for her I would have left the clinic. When the oral surgeon returned he did not ask how I was or check on the numbness status. The surgeon just continued poking and breaking my tooth into pieces and the began drilling to break the tooth up enough to get all of the pieces out. several more times I stopped the procedures due to severe and overwhelming pain and uncontrollable shaking/crying. In total the procedure took over 40 minutes. During the procedure the provider was totally checked out emotionally and did not appear to or ask about my comfort level. Instead he hummed, whistled and sang throughout the extraction process. Finally he got the tooth pieces out, He then told the assistant to send over a prescription of Clindamyiacin and Tylenol 500 mg to the pharmacy. He then left the room without saying a word to me or even looking at me. Now, I want you to picture me; a 62 year old white female with red hair and lots of medical issues. The oral surgeon assistance was very kind and helped me get cleaned up. She went over post-surgical instructions and helped me up. I could barely stand, I was shaking uncontrollably and whimpering. As I walked out through the Lobby to go to my car, I noticed people staring at me. I felt particularly bad for the children in the Lobby, When I got to my car I vomitted twice. I got into my car and stared crying uncontrollably. before I even left the parking lot of Wilson Dental I called my Primary Care provider to request Valium because I was so distraught and in shock ( physical). My jaw was swollen three times its normal size. My mouth was inflamed and the area where the tooth was extracted bled severely for four hours. All in all it was by far the absolute WORST medical procedure of my life. I will NEVER EVER go back to Wilson Dental on East Ridge Road in Rochester, New York, The oral surgeon needs counseling to remind him about patient care, bedside manner and the Hypocratic Oath ( first and foremost DO NO HARM). For those of you who have Medicaid and don't have many options for Dental Care please do not go to Wilson Dental for Oral Surgery. It may take awhile to get seen but get on the waitlist for the Eastman Dental Clinic at the University of Rochester Strong Memorial Hospital. read more

I had an 11:00 appointment this morning for phase 2 of getting my upper denture. The trip was an hour long. I arrived at 10:45 and immediately went to the desk and checked in. After waiting an hour, I returned to the desk and asked how much longer it would be for me to be seen. The secretary stated that I did not check in. At this time, 3 other patients came forward and stated they had seen and heard me check in. The secretary argued with us. I then asked to speak with the dentist because I wasn't going to miss my appointment due to employee error. A half hour later, I was informed the dentist had left for the day. When I got home, I called to reschedule my appointment. The secretary stated that I missed 2 appointments, 1 today and once prior. Again, I informed her that I was there today and the reason I missed the one prior was because I was in the hospital with a blood glucose of 600+. I have no other option but return as they have been paid by insurance already. I am angry, hurt, fit to be tied, etc. read more

BEWARE 1 star is being generous. Long read but worth it! I was referred by my dentist because its kind of a 1 stop shop i guess? I broke my front tooth off and it couldnt be saved plus i need partials. My very 1st appointment was canceled via text "abscent" DR. The morning of my appointment. 2nd appointment which they made for me was also sent via text for the next day. Making me have to make 2 days of work changes. My 2nd attempt at my 1st appt was 8am. Didn't get called back til 930am. X-rays and consultation. I was in 1 large room. 5 exam chairs dived by partitions. You could hear every consult being given. The DR rattled off a bunch of teeth to work on to the assistant and when I was done the chair malfunctioned and sent me up to the ceiling and violently shook the way down. This happened 3x. Next appointment I waited nearly 2hrs for someone to come out and hand me a card to reschedule because they were evacuating the building due to gas smell. My reschedule was the same long waiting time.There were 24ppl and 7 ppl in line in the waiting room. I was there for what I was told was a cleaning and fillings to get in the chair and be told they were pulling 2 teeth. Mind you this was my 45th bday. I would've never scheduled extractions on my bday! Next appointment same 2hr waiting time. I'm here for a root canal. The DR. came in and immediately opened my mouth and started to attempted to give me the anesthetic. I stopped her and said I have high resistance and need more than usual for numbing. She got up and left. The assistant and I were confused. She came back in a few minutes later and went right into my mouth with the needle. She didn't say but 2 words to me or the assistant the entire time of the procedure. The Dr. Left the room again but now I'm in full mouth dam,drooling and gagging for 15minutes. Door open for all to see. The assistant was so apologetic and was appalled she too was being treated like crap.Dr came in 1 last time to take the dam off and never saw her again. I look at the assistant and told her get the hell out of this office they don't deserve her. Next appointment which is my crown for the fucked up rootcanal was made for 3 months after the r.canal.It's the week of my crown scheduled for this Wednesday. Friday I got a call from Wilson saying I need a cleaning before the crown appt. I told the person I don't think thats necessary at this point since I have a broken off front tooth,2 teeth that never were filled ,got 2 teeth pulled and a root canal all without needing a cleaning first. She demanded it. I was reluctant to schedule. She told me this Sunday (today)they had 2 slots. I chose 1230. This morning I woke up and read reviews. EVERY review about the cleanings being horrible solidified my choice to cancel all appointments moving forward. Of course looking at the website they say they aren't even open on Sundays and when I called at 8am i got a voice-mail. I canceled in that. I'll call my insurance company and let them know I'm dropping Wilson dental as my new insurance for 2025 begins today. Im not letting wilson dental tie up my approvals and procedures. Its been 5 months and i still have a broken off front tooth with jagged spear destroying my tongue. In fact I had to buy fake tooth stuff from amazon to make my own false front tooth. I'm actually pretty upset my personal dentist even referred me there. Also, I couldn't tell you the name of any single Dr I saw there they never introduced themselves. So many things that are issue with me and my family and I have only been patients since December 2024. I'm not pleased with the entire facility. The company has to work on timely appointments, not canceling many appointments and rescheduling appointments and canceling those appointments, staff attitudes, and patient knowledge of what is going on in the appointments and the doctors need to be more personable and communicate properly with the patients and take time with the patients, no rushing patients in and out. read more

Its was 84 degrees out and there was no ac in the waiting room, however the office where the receptionist was did. The water fountains were not working , the restrooms were disgusting and there was no hand sanitizer or soap to wash your hands.my appointment was @ 1:30 .I waited 30 minutes to be seen they brought me in took 2 rounds of x-rays and then told me to go back in the waiting room.@3:15 I asked the receptionist how much longer,the girl behind the glass acted annoyed and stated, "not much longer". Finally, they said i could go back there but that "SHE" could not accompany me.i asked why and they told me because of HIPPA laws, meanwhile I watched whole family's walk back there. When I told the lady that "SHE" was my wife and I put her on the HIPPA form. The girl argued with me telling me that "SHE" wasnt.at that point we had had enough and told the receptionist we are leaving.i wish i had looked at all the reviews before going there and i am surprised that they are still allowed to operate!!!! read more

Not friendly at all. They call to reschedule my appointment 2 times already because no one shows up. When doing the cleaning the don't really clean your teeth just us a water pick and go around your gums and that's it. Never not had a cleaning where they brush your teeth or do more then that. I scheduled an appointment in late October for November, at the time I was only scheduling appointments on Saturdays because that's what availability I had for my 12-year-old son and me to come in at the same time. the first appointment was scheduled in the first half of November, it was canceled the day before the appointment in a phone call from the office claiming that the provider was sick. It was rescheduled for December, again, the first half, again on a Saturday. all plans for transportation were made again, all other plans were set aside, and I received a confirmation text, which I confirmed. The day of the appointment I got a call, saying that the dentist was sick, and would not be in, and that I would have to reschedule. I rescheduled for today, January 7, 2024 at 3 PM. I got a text yesterday, confirming, which I did confirm the appointment. this morning, I saw an automated message stating that my appointment was canceled, my sons appointment was not addressed. I attempted to call several times, no answer. Online states that they are open on Sundays. Based on my experience, I would say that the advertisement that they are open on Saturdays and Sundays is a lie. They are not open, they do not take any new patients, and they will play with you and make you think that you have appointments that they have no intention of keeping. I'm going to be looking for a different dentist now, I've decided that I've given them enough opportunities. read more

Lied to about a crown that was not fitting, told that they had to drill it, to make it fit, told black mark from drilling would turn white again. actually drilled into lower tooth to try and make crown fit on the upper teeth. Cancel appointments without notice. I was in the chair waiting and was told they had to re-schedule. Was left with ill fitting crown, that left me with not being able to bite down. Told to make another appointment to fix problem and it would be a month to be seen again. my recommendation is run don't walk away from this place. If I could give this place negative stars I would. This isnt my first bad review of Wilson dental and I only went back bc they only took my insurance. But they called me for a mouth piece fitting, I asked if I could bring my 3yr old daughter. They said as long as she could sit then yes. They called to confirm and I asked again (due to me having to close my business to be at this appointment) they again said yes. I showed up today and the tech was very nice he explained that some dentists allow children and some dont, he really didnt understand why but the one that I was going to have didnt. I said bring me back anyway. She came in and said I'll need to reschedule bc children arent allowed back here. Yet they take children as well. I will no longer be coming here.
