This was the best choice I've made in a long time and I've always been scared of getting nightmare doctors in America but I'm so happy I found this place! I called and asked if they take my insurance and Yan got back to me within the hour and was so helpful throughout my whole experience, which ended up being 3 visits within 7 days. My insurance was running out so they accommodated me and I am so thankful!! I got a deep clean with Cindy who was very knowledgeable and took me through what was happening step by step. My dentist Nina was also very gentle and replaced 5 fillings for me, yes I felt pressure at times and let him know if I felt anything where he took his time to double dose my local anesthesia and again gave me so much information the whole way through. I COULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE HIGHER. Clean (they gave me a tour and showed me where sterilization happens), comfortable (they keep the place very cool with A/C and gave me a warm blanket through out my procedure, gave me bottles of water, there is a restroom and even asked me what music I'd like to listen to and changed it through tour the whole place just for me. I moved to LA about 4 years ago and never took the time to find a new dentist. I finally did and am so glad I chose Picasso Smiles. The whole staff was just so pleasant. Hygienist, Sam, was incredibly friendly and knowledgeable. She took the time to explain what she was doing every step of the way. She was also very gentle and thorough with her cleaning. Dr. Shayesteh was equally friendly and patient with his explanations. They both obviously love their lines of work, and it made the experience all the more pleasant. During my examination, Dr. Shayesteh found some slightly problematic old fillings. He easily could have insisted that I get them redone but he very candidly told me he doesn't wish to perform more dental work than necessary. The fillings weren't detrimental and he'd just keep an eye on them. That was very comforting to hear. I've had several friends go through nightmarish situations where they got (questionably good) dental work that ended up costing them thousands of dollars. So it's nice to know this practice is genuinely looking after your best interests and not just looking to make a profit. I got my teeth cleaned and Sam was excellent! Very thorough and friendly. The doctor went through all my x-rays and spent a lot of time with me helping me understand exactly what he was seeing. Nima Shayesteh DMD is by far the best dentist I have ever had. He has a very calming effect when speaking to you. Explains everything before, and as needed, during the procedure. In the past dentists have been unable to adequately numb my lower gums. I had extensive dental work done. I was in chair for nearly five hours and never experienced any discomfort while working on my teeth. I did experience some low back pain however. The way he isolated the three teeth pre procedure and device(s) he used to passively keep my mouth open so I didnt need to use any effort was very much appreciated and quite impressive. I have worked in the operating room in the past. Reminds me of a surgeon. Even though he was working in the mouth, he and assistant changed sterile gloves several times during the procedure. Even took lots of pictures throughout the procedure. For those of you that remember the TV commercial about a guy walking a mile for a camel cigarette, I'm driving almost an hour to get to his office. Well worth it. 10 BIG stars. read more

Came here for my first time to the dentist since I moved to LA a few years ago. I have really bad health anxiety and was extremely nervous almost to the point of tears going in. I met with Dr. Nima Shayesteh and he was honestly the kindest, most gentle doctor I've encountered. He really calmed me down and very gently let me know all the work they were going to have to do over the next few weeks. I have several appointments coming up over the next few weeks or so and my anxiety is fairly low considering, all thanks to how trustworthy and calming Dr. Nima is. You really feel like you're in the best hands! The hygienist (I forgot her name - I'm sorry!) was also amazing. Went back through the steps of properly cleaning, etc. to make sure I was still doing everything right. Lucy at the front desk is amazing as well! Im amazed by how clean and modern this office is. Their equipment looks state of the art, they even have electric toothbrushes in the bathroom for patients to brush their teeth before getting any work done. I was very impressed with the exam and the cleaning i got. The Dr really spent his time to go over my exrays with me and showing me the cavities in my mouth. Even though he seems very trustworthy, he nonetheless showed me everything so that there2no question in my mind about the cavities i have. I was Referred here and excited by the reviews, but don't let them fool you. If you are a women, especially under the age of 35 good luck with getting any respect here. They were so extremely rude to me each time I went In. Talked down to me and even made me cry from the toxicity in one appointment. I continued There 2 times to finish out treatment (simple cavities, so I thought) and have been left with an uneven bite. When I tried To go in I was Met with the nastiest behavior I had To leave Before getting the work corrected. The Dentist himself is not so much rude as we was condescending and disrespectful. The receptionist however is the rudest, nastiest Man I have ever met. Not only toward my age but gender was he disrespectful, and I was Gaslighted ever appointment and phone call.
