Do not use him for implants. He placed a single implant in my mouth and I have had pain ever since. I've now seen a periodontist and oral surgeon who independently both said it was not placed by Dr. Anson correctly and the type of implant was incorrect for the location of my mouth. Regretfully, nothing can be done since the implant is already integrated into my bone. Very upsetting. read more

When I needed two single tooth implants I was recommended to this gentleman for much of the work. I have had one of these procedures before and thought it was most uncomfortable and hated the idea of having this done. He was wonderful. He had a way of giving injections so that it was minimally uncomfortable and then supplied me with movies to watch while he worked away. For what feels like a terrifying procedure Dr. Anson and his WHOLE staff go above and beyond to make you feel comfortable, safe, and welcome. When my dentist referred met to Dr. Anson for a deep cleaning due to a "puffy gum" I immediately became a little depressed. A periodontist? For me? I thought only old people had periodontists. One consultation with Dr. Anson and I felt much better about the whole thing. I came back for the deep cleaning and then again for a follow-up check. The deep cleaning was quick and painless and I received high marks at the follow-up for my "homework"--using a special brush to clean my teeth. I felt very comforted and cared for as I walked through this process. I very much appreciated the check up call from Dr. Anson the night of my surgery. Very classy and unexpected. I just new I was in good hands and that outcome would be thorough. The process took a little over 4 months from day of surgery to final crown on tooth. It really didn't feel that long of a process though because each follow up visit with Dr. Anson was timely and efficient. It just takes time for the jaw/gums to heal. The people at the front desk are often a signal of the kind of service one gets and they did not disappoint. I was just reading through the rest of Dr. Anson reviews and was very pleased to see everyone else seems as pleased as I am with his high level of care. Any dental procedures, other than cleaning and simple fillings, make me extremely anxious. The last implant I had done, with another dentist, was done under general anesthetic and that added 2,400 to the cost of the implant. At this time, I was being treated by a new general dentist and when it was determined I needed another implant he referred me to Dr. Anson. After being greeted by his lovely front office staff, I was shown to a room and his assistant began the app't, prep. Dr. Anson came in, looked at the x-rays, notes, and performed an exam. He agreed I needed an implant and explained the entire procedure step by step...he was thorough and complete and answered all my questions. We addressed my concern about receiving general anesthetic and he explained that between local injections and nitreous oxide he did not feel that would be necessary....based on his assurances we went ahead with the procedure and it was handled perfectly with the local injections and nitreous oxide. In fact I was totally relaxed the entire time, felt the slightest pinch of the few first injections and from there on felt nothing....beyond that, after a few dosages of advil, healing went perfectly and painlessly. No one looks forward to dental work but being a patient of Dr. Anson made it so much easier. Recently one of my front teeth cracked and broke off at the gum line. After a panicked visit to my dentist (also very good!)and having decided that an dental implant was what i wanted, I was referred upstairs in the same building to Dr Anson. Understanding the urgency of my situation, they fit me in right away. I was x-rayed, evaluated and the they did the extraction right then. It was painless and I even watched a movie during the procedure.The whole process was explained to me and I was able to ask and get clear answers to all my stupid questions. My remaining appointments and coordination with my dentist was all handled perfectly. The 3-D modeling and X-ray's Dr Anson showed me were also very helpful in understanding how it all would happen. Dr Anson is amazing! After having a terrible experience with another oral surgeon who told me that my implant procedure would be incredibly difficult, and that I would have to have a bone graft with a possible healing time of another year (another year without two front teeth!), I left his office crying and called a close friend who recommended Dr. Anson. Dr. Anson got me in quickly for a consultation, showed me exactly what he would do for my implant and told me we could do it the next day if I was available! You can imagine how happy I was to hear this. Dr. Anson was so easygoing and knowledgeable with the whole process that I immediately trusted him with my teeth. He is a true professional. I had my implant surgery within the week, the healing time was minimal, and I had my new teeth within 4 months of the initial procedure (it takes at least 3-4 months to heal). I've known David Anson socially for more than 10 years, but it was only within the past year that I had my first chance to get to know him as a patient. I had been having a nightmare experience with a single tooth -- going from root canal to oral surgery to a decision to extract -- and I had been referred from one office to another in search of more specialized treatments. When I decided to replace the tooth with an implant, I was referred to Dr. Anson, and I was immediately comfortable with the referral because I knew him and trusted him. What I didn't realize until visiting his office, though, was how a year-long experience which had been painful and depressing at times could suddenly become comfortable and reassuring and (to echo some of the other reviews) actually pleasant. I called the office today to make an appointment as a new patient and the way that I was treated from the person that answered the phone was very rude and she basically told me that she was too busy and for me to not bother her because she was the only one at the office. I only called twice within a 3 hour period. You'd think that because of the location and the doctors reputation that I would be treated correctly.
