Called to see if they accepted my insurance and they did and easily scheduled an appointment. Got to the office and to my surprise, the waiting area is empty! If you have been to any medical offices in chinatown, you would now it is packed all the time. Didn't even have to wait and was seen right away as scheduled. There was a dental assistant who took all my x-rays and if it is your first time, there is a lot! She was very nice and understanding and informed me that if I needed a break from the x-rays to let her know. After the x-rays, I was seen by Dr. Song. Dr. Song was amazing! He performed a gum analysis, oral and neck cancer screening that was touching the inside and outside of my mouth and the sides of my neck, and the tongue. Such thorough examinations for the first visit and worth the time for the examination and cleaning. Love that they gave goggles for me to wear because water always splatters for cleaning. Overall, an amazing experience and look forward to my future visits for my bi-annual cleanings.

It seemed as though they staggered patients there was no one else in the waiting room at the time that I came. Procedures that I had: Comprehensive exam, X-rays, Biomimetic reconstruction for two teeth, Invisalign, and a temporary for a crown. As you can see in the photos Dr. Lazare uses a red dye to mark the decay and then works patiently to remove the decay and then rebuild the tooth. To say I am thrilled with his dedication to his craft and meticulous care would be putting it mildly. Staff: All staff seems to genuinely care for their patients. I was a patient here for over a decade when Dr. Lane was practicing and always had excellent experiences with her. But over the past couple of years, things have changed significantly. The service and staff have declined, and the office now has a noticeably different atmosphere compared to what it had just five years ago, pre-pandemic. I also purchased a night guard and was told I could call any time for an adjustment and be seen right away. That turned out not to be the case--instead, they tried to make me wait a week or two for an appointment. When I pressed for an earlier adjustment, I was met with hostility that felt completely unwarranted. In some sense, I wonder if that experience set the stage for the mistreatment I later received. At my next visit, the hygienist who did my cleaning left two of my teeth looking noticeably different (filed down and altered in shape without my consent)--and not in a good way. She also made me feel very uncomfortable, and the cleaning was so rough it caused more bleeding than I have ever experienced before or since. I reached out three times to raise my concerns and didn't receive any response for over a week. The customer service and quality of care just aren't what they used to be. Sadly, I can no longer recommend this office.

Some preface: Another dentist drilled deep into my teeth, exposing the nerve, and then said I…read moreneeded a root canal. While it was unclear from what she said whether she caused the damage, or if my prior filling was damaged before she did work on me, in any case she was adamant that I see her Endodontist friend nearby to get a $2500+ root canal and crown. She also drilled into my upper tooth to fill a cavity that caused extreme pain for months after, which she blamed on my tooth adapting to the filling. To this day I still feel some weird pressure when I smile from her "dental work." She also chipped one of my nearby teeth in the process. In any case, I went to Dr. Young to get a second opinion about the root canal. Although my cavity was pretty deep, I wasn't in a lot of pain for that tooth; Dr. Young didn't think a root canal was a necessity and tried to save the tooth by doing a much cheaper procedure. Anyway, 7 months later and the X-ray shows my tooth is healed. Dr. Young's cleanings and cavity fillings are expensive (especially paying out of pocket like me) but totally worth it. Going to him will reduce your likelihood of paying for much more expensive procedures in the future, so it's just a smart investment to go here for dental work.
