Dr Dorfman performed a sliding genioplasty and cheek implants for me in December 2023. I came back for a blepharoplasty in July 2025. Both surgeries were successful, achieved their goals, and met or exceeded my expectations. While this is a sample size of two, this is a very convincing outcome in an industry known for complications and patient dissatisfaction. The results of his work did wonders for my self-image. The extent to which this doctor can improve a person's life is just crazy. Dr D, as an oral surgeon, is extremely qualified, careful, and judicious in planning and performing treatments. He can be nonchalant when discussing surgery, e.g. being neutral between options, avoiding scientific terms, and such. However my unease was dispelled when I brought fairly dense academic papers on blepharoplasty to our meeting and Dr D was familiar with them and was able to comment on the current research and practice in the field, as well as position himself in it. I also appreciated his honest opinion on the relative efficacy of alternative treatments. For example, I thought that filler was the way to address eye bags, but Dr D said that filler just will do what I want and suggested blepharoplasty. Which worked perhaps even better than can reasonably be expected. His staff is great. I can't even describe the extent to which Susan Cianciulli has the act together. She is always on top of processes and resolves impossible problems instantly. In my case, my recovery person flaked and she had a number of recovery nurses at the ready and even covered the cost of hiring one minutes before the surgery. Nina is very kind and supportive. And so is everybody on his team, really. Just such miracle workers. read more

Dr. Dorfman is great! I saw Dr. Dorfman for lipo of my inner and outer thighs. Every morning when I got dressed I would try to find an outfit that "hid" my hips. It was that one thing that I hated about my appearance. I was hesitant to have the procedure because I had heard it was a difficult area to address. I can only share my experience, which was a breast reduction. I have seen nothing but rave reviews for his breast augmentations and other procedures. Those reviews, combined with my other doctors' reviews about how good my stitches looked, lead me to believe that my experience was an anomaly. Still, I want to share to encourage others looking for a breast reduction to advocate for themselves during the procedure. I was a 32E when I went in, looking to be reduced to a 32C. After the procedure - as measured by almost a dozen bra fitters as well as another plastic surgeon I went to see 5 months post-op out of concern - I'm a 32DDD. Only about half a pound was removed. Every effect I was hoping for has failed to pan out (shoulder/back pain is almost the same as it was, clothes fit me almost exactly the same, they impede my exercise, etc.) I won't try to explain how disappointing this was, but suffice it to say it's been a generally heartbreaking experience. I know that results in plastic surgery vary, but I wanted to make sure that people looking to Dr. Dorfman for breast reduction make it very clear their desired outcome. read more

I had liposuction on November 20, 2015 and I have never been happier. I should have done it 2 years ago! I had that fat women get around my middle and it made me so unhappy. I saw Dr. Dorfman about 18 months before I scheduled the surgery. I consulted with a few other Drs who were adequate, but I went with Dr D because he was very intelligent, easy to talk to, and not at all pushy. I felt very comfortable with him. The surgery was on the Friday before Thanksgiving week. The staff was wonderful - warm and professional and I felt at ease from the beginning. After the surgery, other than being groggy, I felt fine. I leaked for about two days, had very minor pain, and actually walked 5 miles on that Sunday! About a week later, I swelled up, and stayed swollen for just over two weeks. I had little discomfort. When the swelling started to go down, I could see my results emerging, and I couldn't be happier. I got my old body back!!!!!! I have a waistline again, but more importantly, I feel confident. Didn't even realize how much that extra stubborn fat was impacting my moods. Dr, Dorfman is the best of all things you could hope for in a doctor. He is kind, professional, intelligent, talented and so enthusiastic. He was as excited as I was by my results. The price was $5000. for my stomach and haunches and I would pay twice that. I will be going back to him for all my plastic surgery needs. Although, he has done such a good job on me that I think I will be happy for a long time which means I won't be seeing him anytime soon. After 10 long years fraught with various problems, I finally like the way my breasts look! Awesome and amazing! It seems like a lot of people rave about their surgeons, but it's probably only because they don't have enough experiences to compare. I do. I had my first breast augmentation after nursing my two children ten years ago. That surgeon was great before the surgery, but he had little patience for the issues that followed. I suffered multiple capsular contractures, and twice had him try to fix them. He failed, and I now know that he didn't really explore all the options. And this was a highly reviewed San Diego plastic surgeon. I felt like once he got paid, he didn't care much about my results. Dr. Dorfman was completely different in every way. Not only was he endlessly patient with my anxiety over another surgery, but he really did explore and exhaust every option. He answered every question and explained things to me but never made me feel stupid. (Sometimes, I feel like doctors talk down to patients like we can't understand their mysterious ways.). He took my concerns seriously and knew that my past experiences meant that I would need some extra TLC. I honesty cannot praise Dr. Dorfman enough. Not only is his bedside manner exactly what a patient needs, but he is exceptionally skilled and knowledgeable. I've done a lot of research and consulted a lot of different surgeons over the past ten years, but no one carefully considered my case and my options like Dr. Dorfman. My experience with Dr. Dorfman was excellent. I'm 67 yrs old female and my friends say I have the tummy of a 17 year old. The doctor is a great listener, his bio was great, he seems very experienced and was able to answer all my questions, both post opp and pre opp. He's like an artist and an engineer, very fussy about his patient having a good result. Let me start by saying that Dr. Dorfman is the MOST amazing plastic surgeon that I have ever met. I have wanted to have a breast augmentation for the last 10 years. Finally, a few months ago I made the decision to go ahead and proceed with the procedure after meeting with Dr. Dorfman. The amount of trust that I had in him after our consult was unbelievable. In addition, his before and after photos are amazing. First, my breast had a bit of asymmetry and a more tubular shape and this really bothered me. Dr. Dorfman knew exactly how to correct my breast and give me a nice round shape. He decided that it would be best to place the implants on top of the breast and give me a large enough implant in order to deliver a full correction. I am very active and I wanted to make sure that my breast would not end up being too large, but Dr. Dorfman literally knew exactly the size that I wanted. I went from a 34 B to a 34 D and I absolutely love my breast. I ask myself, "How did I ever live my life without them?!" I feel more confident in my clothes, bikinis, and going without a bra about 95% of the time. I came in today for another round of cellulite dimple removals. Dr Dorfman releases the cellulite manually, without the added costs of a system like cellfina, keeping the bill reasonable. I've researched this extensively and while most Dr's do not know how to release cellulite manually the ones who do charge $500 a dimple. That can get pricey as an almost 40 year old woman with a reasonable amount at my age. Dr Dorfman's prices are done by general area. For example, I had a noticeable dimple on the back of my legs below where my shorts would cover. He removed that dimple and 4 other smaller developing dimples in the same general area for $500. I did this on both legs and ended up paying $1000 for 2 prominent dimples and 6 outlying smaller developing dimples. I'm so happy with the results from our last session and can't wait so do more today.
