I am bringing in my partner Paul Denni to help with all my cases, and in fact, take the lead. He is working with our staff and will have something to you soon. I am finding that my age is catching up with me and I will be stepping back over the remainder of the year to a support role in semi-retirement. Paul will be in touch with you over the next couple of days." Why would you have someone else take the lead when we paid you, DAVID GRIFFIN? You shouldn't have taken the money if YOU find that YOUR old age is catching up with you. I expected Paul Denni to reach out within the next few days. Did he? I contacted them 5 days later on October 18th, asking for an update; this time, it was "Paul's wife is delivering a new baby today and I won't be able to check with him until this afternoon or evening" October 27th, We then ask what is going on? It's been three months, and we still haven't been updated. They replied to our email apologizing and asking 15 questions that they should have had the answers to 3 MONTHS AGO. They were telling us to subpoena this & that when we were under the impression that they would do it since we paid THEM. We asked for a full refund, and they only gave us half. Especially since the fee agreement is based on time to a certain extent which is unattainable if you don't file the case for 2 years. Something seems off when this happens. If I were to speculate I could think of a few unsavory reasons one would do this. However in the end my case settled which I knew it would due to my personal experience with what happened to me. Sadly it probably could have settled with greater defrayment. If I was an attorney who was simply to busy to handle another case then I certainly wouldn't dare to have a client sign a retainer without knowing I could handle the case in a timely manner. So I would like to offer some constructive criticism regarding my case to BH. While I understand that every case has its challenges, lack of communication and the resulting delays, which brought my case to a standstill leaves room for improvement. If the Manning Law Firm wasn't the umbrella here this would be a very different post. The files were subsequently turned over to another attorney with the firm, Mr. Wallace, due to a vacation conflict. Mr. Wallace summarized the case and it was near perfect. Then, without our consent, the file was turned over to Anum Arshad, another attorey with the firm, who started from scratch - who made one mistake after another. I became the deceased, and the deceased me.It was then that we had to read every word that was presented. Many other mistakes were made, which included the mailing of the clients personal medical records which were under COURT SEALED DOCUMENTS to 2 of the clients neighbors, along with 4 relatives who had never been told the health conditions of the client. $10,000 turned into $30,000. before the case was settled. I believe that Mr. Wallace and Mr. Gokal are good attorneys, but buyer beware of their practices which increase costs to their clients. It was interesting to note that the first invoice included a charge of .56 to send us a welcome letter. (15% discount applied)
