I wish I could give high accolades to all but there was one attorney who held my case up for almost 2 years before the statute of limitations. My case was a contingency case but to have a client sign a retainer and wait nearly 2 years to file in the hopes someone else takes over is a little unnerving. Especially since the fee agreement is based on time to a certain extent which is unattainable if you don't file the case for 2 years. Something seems off when this happens. If I were to speculate I could think of a few unsavory reasons one would do this. However in the end my case settled which I knew it would due to my personal experience with what happened to me. Sadly it probably could have settled with greater defrayment. If I was an attorney who was simply to busy to handle another case then I certainly wouldn't dare to have a client sign a retainer without knowing I could handle the case in a timely manner. So I would like to offer some constructive criticism regarding my case to BH. While I understand that every case has its challenges, lack of communication and the resulting delays, which brought my case to a standstill leaves room for improvement. If the Manning Law Firm wasn't the umbrella here this would be a very different post. So believing the collective is stronger then one subpar experience with an offshoot I won't change my mindset regarding the firm. So I still say if you need help go to Manning Law. I strongly suggest to stay away from this law firm , I have been paying them for last 6 to 7 years monthly to settle my credit cards and for me not to file bankruptcy and still keep my good credit ... I just got a letter from my Nordstrom credit card from 5 years ago ... they did not settle with them they took my money and didn't settle my account ... I am going to ca bar Association as well to make a complaint on out this matter . They stole my money and gave me empty promises.. Not to sound dramatic, but there are not enough praises I can give to these people. They took on my personal injury case when every single law firm I called turned me away. Joe Manning and his team were fundamental to me being able to keep my home and avoid unlawful foreclosure, and I am super grateful for that. The only caveat: once my case was closed, they pretty much went MIA and weren't very responsive. I am still having some difficulty tying up some minor loose ends with my case. Please take the bad reviews about this place serious. Everything described from other reviewers is extremely similar to what happened to me. My case went on for years and caused me nothing but more stress after my car accident. I struggled to function daily because I was so consumed with working on my case, which is what I thought hiring a lawyer would prevent. It got so bad I told them I didn't want to continue and would settle for nothing but then suddenly out of the blue, they said they could work out a deal for $20,000. I walked away with only $3,000. Keep in mind, I found the mysterious driver that totaled my car on Facebook, whom their private eye couldn't find for years. I had a new attorney assigned to me without any notice and only found out months later when I called the office because I wasn't getting any response from the attorney I was initially working with. I was told to seek expensive, out of pocket, medical treatment so the insurance company could see how serious the injury was. I was assured the medical bills would be negotiated and cut in half, just to be told after we agreed on a settlement, how rude I was for asking if the bills could be lowered. My attorney, Bobby, constantly fought against me and I felt like he was working for the other side. He frequently tried to convince me I didn't deserve as much as I was seeking. I assume it was because he felt the reward from my case wasn't worth his time. I was completely taken advantage of as a vulnerable 20 year old woman who now has a lifelong injury, that I'm still paying for treatment out of pocket for to this day. The only positive thing that came out of working with them was getting a huge life lesson on trusting people. They were recommended to me by a chiropractor and I felt it was an easy decision to go with them initially but after talking to multiple attorneys afterwards, I see how bad they failed me. I was tempted to take legal action against them afterwards but after the stress they put me through for 3 years, I was content with just closing that chapter of my life. I tried to address the owner but he never got down to the bottom of why I was treated so poorly and put me down for questioning why I was getting less than all other parties. My injury was never their concern so unless you have a case that will bring them tons of money, please save yourself the stress and stay away from here. read more

Janet Harris and the Law Office of Joseph Manning do not have our vote! They have a defeatist attitude and ask for money at every turn. We have given them twenty-one thousand of dollars to modify our house, it's been a year and a half of working with them and still nothing is resolved. Every time I speak with them their legal advice is to dismiss our case. I was even told that if we received a monetary judgement my wages could be garnished and if I showed up at court with jewelry or a car, those could be taken then and there. I feel like because we have given them so much money already, I shouldn't be coerced into dismissing our case for not giving them more. All they cared about was their next payment which included a monthly payment of $1,500. and another $50,000. on top of that, in case we ended up going to trial! read more

Had a horrible experience. Retained the Firm to represent me in a legal matter. Heard nothing from them for weeks and a few days before the deadline date, I had to contact them. They had another Attorney who knew nothing about the case call me and asked me to review the circumstances again. I had visited the Office weeks before and was interviewed by an Attorney and his Assistant. I gave them this information and all the relevant documents at that time. Unfortunately by this time it was too late to take any action to stop the legal proceedings. So I had no choice but to accept the bad outcome of my legal matter. We recently hired this firm to help us with our case and were told how they had a successful track record and how they anticipated the outcome of our case. After our consultation they had sold my spouse, but I was not. My spouse pushed me to fork out 4200.00 to retain them and get the filing cost and attorney cost going, we never met our sole attorney who represented us, also we didn't even know who they were? We were corresponding with a female attorney and had representation from some complete stranger. We did not win any of our cases and til this day have not had a positive outcome. We have called and asked to have phone meetings to discuss how un happy we were and express how we felt that we were robbed of our money and our assets, unfortunately we cannot get a hold of Mr. Manning himself and now have different secretaries calling us to set up bogus dates to actually meet with him. I am by far disgusted and appalled at the level of professionalism this firm has, and the lack of integrity. Why do you feel its necessary to take advantage of people in need?
