They are not just there to sell eye glasses but also want you to know about the lenses and how they will affect you based on your needs. I found them on Yelp. Probably the worst eye exam I have had in years. It may be accurate but I left feeling as though I had not been seen. Dr. Anderson could not have been more indifferent or dismissive. No conversation about eye health. Had to ask for a prescription for computer glasses which consisted of, "Put you hands out. Is that about where your computer screen is? There you go." Then I was walked out to the front desk. No one offered to show me glasses or follow up in any way. It was so bad, that I will have to go somewhere else as I do not want to spend money on glasses that are based on his exam. I had a great experience at Arcadia Eyecare. Ashley F was fantastic. I had so much fun trying on glasses with her and picking out the perfect pair. But then something weird happened- when I got my new glasses, there was something about them I didn't like. I felt bad going back and saying that I didn't like my new glasses, but Ashley was wonderful. So after much angst and wringing of hands, I was pleased to meet with Dr. Anderson's practice manager. I just went there to get the ear pieces loosened and was surprised by the warmth and understanding of the woman practice manager. She had been cued in on my scrip problems and set about to get back to basics. She refunded the full $670 I'd paid out of pocket and explained that the insurance carrier (UHC Medicare Complete) contacted them (Thank you Olympia) about my insurance coverage but noticed they handn't been included in the transaction. I had to get some sunglasses redone with a new prescription and ended up getting some new prescription sunglasses while I was there. My appointment was around 4pm on a Thursday and received a call to pick them up Friday the following week, I was told 7 to 10 business days, that's pretty quick to me. Was told upfront all costs associated with my insurance and what my portion was. My old and new pair of Sunglasses are amazing, Dr Anderson is making me feel like I have robo sharp vision. When I had to wait over a month an a half for glasses and asked for a partial refund because I paid extra to have them ASAP they lied about how much I originally paid. 2. He just came into the room and jammed his fingers in my eye.WTF No intro no names or anything just said down and poked me as hard as he could in the eye without asking why I was there to see him or if I was having issues. Dr. Anderson rocks! Seriously, he's super nice, witty, funny and doesn't waste your time. I've been to eye doctors before that were boring and didn't really talk to me. I never thought I would connect with an eye doctor before but Dr. Anderson made that possible! He conversed with me about my career and swapped fun stories with me. I've been seeing him (pun intended!) since he was at Lenscrafters a few years ago. His new practice is sleek, modern and very nice. I'm almost certain it is adorned with photographs of his own family but I never asked to confirm. He also has a wonderful support staff that are friendly and very helpful! I was switching companies recently and they were able to work with my hectic schedule so that I would be able to see the doctor and get a prescription before my insurance ran out. I love reading the low-scoring reviews about how the front desk was "upselling" and pushy. Frankly, I can't even imagine those poor kids doing that. Have they asked me if I wanted something in addition to what I've purchased? Of course. Have I easily declined? Yes, because it's not that hard to say, "No, thank you." The place rocks, bottom line. The eye doctor was nice, though he went through all of the tests really quickly putting off the vibe that he may give indulge in recreational uppers prior to performing my exam. He then told me I had a good chance for glaucoma because of a certain attribute of my eye, then saying another attribute was good, so it was "pretty much a wash"-- referring to the probability of me getting glaucoma. Not big on Doctors referring to my chances of getting a serious medical condition as "a wash", expand your vocabulary buddy. The sales staff was pushy, constantly trying to up-sell me into the most expensive frames the entire time. In the day of 1 hour wait time for glasses at lens crafters crafters, with no additional charge, I see no reason to go to a place that wants you to wait 2 weeks for a pair of glasses, which by the way, I need to drive. Beyond the inconvenience, I felt pushed and uncomfortable throughout the entire experience. I will never go back. read more

Dr. Anderson was very unprofessional during my appointment with him. I was completely taken off-guard by how crude and vulgar he was. I have never experienced anything like it before! The exam was very fast, but it was apparently too fast because my prescription was off-- nearly twice the correction I needed in one eye. Needless to say, I had headaches from my glasses, and nausea from my experience with him. Driving up you wouldn't imagine the inside of this office to be what it is. It reminds me of a boutique with their great selection of glasses and sunglasses. I've never seen a doctors office with a candy bar but I appreciate that small touch for the younger patients. I've been struggling with eye allergies and Dr. Anderson was shocked that my previous eye doctor had not taken the proper steps for my eye health. He spent the extra time explaining why he recommended new contacts and new eye drops and he answered all of my questions. My contact order didn't show up due to the long holiday weekend but the front desk wasted no time offering me some additional trial lenses to hold me over until my order came in. Dr Anderson is awesome. He us a personality and is fun to talk to, which is rare with optometrists. Not only that, he nailed my prescription in 30 seconds flat. I see better with these glasses than I ever have before. I'd like to see some frames like Seraphin and Persol and even some of the fashionable ones only hipsters know of etc in the shop, but they do have a good selection of great frames. Worst customer service experience! I went in looking for sunglasses. I found a pair I liked, but in a different color. April said she would order them in black for me to see if I like them. I specifically asked if they would be the same price and she said yes. I thought, oh, this is great! Well, over two weeks later, I never heard anything. I called the office and they said they didn't know and that someone would call me back. The next day, after not hearing from them, I called back. The girl who answered thought she put me on hold and so I heard all kinds of back and forth of what they should tell me. After a couple minutes of that, she did put me on hold and then a couple minutes after that came back and said the glasses are in. I said that I would come in the next day. When I went in, I asked for April and was told that she was out, but not asked if anyone else could help me. So, I said, well I'd like to see the glasses she ordered. So the front desk girl asked if the other "tech" would help me. When she got the glasses for me, she said that they are more expensive than I was told, but she couldn't tell me how much. I said, so I can't do anything because April isn't here? She said that I could try them on, but that April would have to go over everything with me. OK, can you have her call me when she gets back? That was 8 days ago. My husband went in the next day to pick up his glasses and they were the wrong prescription. Now it will be another 10 or more days for him to get his correct ones. And, while he was there, he specifically asked about mine and will April be calling me. The woman helping him said that when she has time, she would. Never mind that April was sitting right next to them and never spoke up. It's now been a little over 4 weeks since those glasses were ordered for me and I've still not heard anything. I have since gone somewhere else, just last Sunday and received my glasses yesterday; in just 5 days. My husband ordered his on Sept. 9 and is waiting since they put the wrong prescription in the glasses. Don't go here! read more

My husband and I have been going to Dr. Anderson for the better part of 10 years now to take care of our eyes. Our eyes and our hands are our living. I am a consultant and on a computer all day and my husband's work involves reading blueprints. We won't trust anyone else with our vision. Dr. Anderson has always done a very thorough eye exam for both of us and we've gotten to know him over the years and consider him a friend. While they've had some staff issues recently due to a bad hiring decision that has delayed delivery of our glasses by 2-3 weeks, we understand the delivery not something in their control. What's done is done. We will keep going to Dr. Anderson but will probably order frames and lenses through Costco or online so we aren't stuck without our glasses or forced to use old glasses we have lying around the house again to get by. read more

Truly a disappointment. David is a family friend and his front office is completely unprofessional. I've called numerous times to only be promised a call back. I spent over $200 to get a new prescription for my glasses and got a bad set of glasses that made me dizzy and sick for days. I've been going to Dr Anderson for over a year now and I've had a fantastic experience. He and his staff are attentive and friendly. The office and equipment are modern and they have a great selection of frames any brand you would want they have. This office also has a great selection of large and xtra large frames. I have a large cranium and have always had a hard time finding frames that actually fit. I went in yesterday to get a second pair and they easily had around two dozen different large/xl frames to choose from. Highly recommend!! read more

The prices are great, he's not a con artist. I saw him for three different issues: possible retinal tear, new glasses and new contacts. He was really just phenomenal. And I've been to many optometrists in many states. The stuff they usually do is tell me I've got big problems and need (fill in the blank), which I usually never fall for. Or they get mad if I won't buy overpriced contacts from them and intentionally write down the wrong prescription, stuff like that. Yes, there are lots of shysters in this industry. Dr. Anderson never even tried any of that nonsense. And $65 for 90 contacts! I think that's a great price. Now hopefully I won't have to order them from Canada. read more

I purchased a pair of Oakley prescription sunglasses from Arcadia Eye Care and unfortunately lost them the following week in a boating accident. I was so bummed! Made an appointment for a routine eye exam and contact fitting. The fact that this place is open on Saturdays AND they were able to get me in right away is already awesome! The office is very modern and the staff were all friendly. I filled out my new patient paperwork, completed the easy eye tests with a staff member, and was promptly see by Dr. Anderson. I found him to be extremely personable and polite. He listened to my concerns I had with my previous contacts and gave me options to try. During the exam he flipped my eyelids up and looked at them, which I have never had done before! He was checking for allergies - which I suspected I had but had never been diagnosed with. He gave me the name of an OTC eye drop I could buy to help. He gave me a new brand of contacts to try, and printed out my glasses prescription. At check out I was asked if I wanted glasses - but not pressured after saying no. Same goes for purchasing contacts. My total was a mere $50 after insurance. Great experience, great staff! I definitely recommend! UPDATE: I had to go back to see Dr. Anderson multiple times after my original contact fitting due to my funky eyes. I had some trouble finding the perfect contacts that fit me correctly, and Dr. Anderson and his staff were nothing but polite and accommodating every time I came in! I could tell Dr. Anderson was genuinely trying to get me into the correct lens, but even he said, sometimes it isn't easy! He gave me SO many options, and helped me finally find the contacts for me!!
