Gorgeous homestead with luxurious bedding, gourmet kitchen, spacious gathering areas, thoughtful personal touches throughout, wrap around porches and expansive views. Beautiful orchard and gardens - so close to everything but a world away from the madding crowds. Well located near hiking, wineries, shopping, restaurants. Pattea, the owner, went out of her way to be sure we had everything we needed and enjoyed every minute of our stay. We had planned to eat out a few times but chose to stay in and enjoy the sunsets from the porch, sunrises off the back deck with our coffee and cooking in the fabulous kitchen. Thrilled to be her "first" Yelp! review and hope to enjoy this special place again in the future - it truly IS the Bees Knees!!! Pattea- Thanks so much for sharing your little piece of heaven.

My friend Pattea Torrence once again created a space of such opulent beauty, yet grounded countryside in this Farm Stay. This is a place for weary souls to come to recover and find nirvana. Every tiny thought has gone into making it a temporary home. A well-stocked pantry, multiple coffee and tea options, many spaces to rest, and voluminous books to read. The inside boasted a cook's kitchen and an art museum quality to the furnishings. The feather bed- neigh every pillow, stuffed with soft down to encourage you to sit, read, recharge. Large country tables invited you to share nourishment and merriment with friends. The outside grounds are a combination of manicured plant perfection, while sprinkled with whimsy. And then a real farm. I made myself lunch from the leftover garden of summer. Plucked straight from the ground. I ate the apple off the tree as I had done as a child. I hugged a calf, took the ducks for a walk, and petted a purring rodent control system. This property was meant for strolling, I wandered by the seed barn, the playhouse, and the door that frames the distant mountains. I found a likeness in the garden. In the berry orchard, flanked by an ancient table with empty wine bottles. The setting was welcoming and capricious. Like everything here, such heart went into making each turn a surprise, yet sumptuous. A hawk screeched and circled above me as I tipped my hat to the woman who gives the world splendor and creativeness every day without regret. Her virtuosity and the magnificence she shares are pure magic. Book your visit NOW to The Bees Knees Fruit Farm, Country House and Special Occasions. #WritingRetreat #BeesKnees #Airbnb #farmstay

We also got 2) glasses to use for juice. They were $40 each, so only purchased for ourselves, not the grandkids. I also bought a cute inexpensive ring. Angela helped us as was extremely friendly, as usual. In the past we also purchased one of his hanging lights. Highly recommend stopping in.

Many of the stores have remained the same providing a familiarity over time while others have changed providing new store fronts to explore. Rowan Chase Studio occupies a corner store welcoming visitors to the area while showcasing some of the great artists in the area. While I believe the shop has changed ownership over time, the studio that is there stays true to its local roots highlighting beach and ocean pieces of art with a modern twist. When you walk in you are embraced by color and "warm" art. I love going in here just to peruse the store to see what they have in. The art they have is constantly changing reflecting the artists' changing styles. There are paintings, drawings, woodwork and glass all of which will provide a memory of your trip to Morro Bay. While we have purchased glass in the past, this time I went for some beautifully carved wood that will accentuate our PNW home. I was glad to hear they shipped because I don't have any room in my car! There are many galleries along this road and I just love these tributes to the creative minds in the area. RC studio is by far one of my favorites and perhaps if I had become a corporate lawyer, I may be able to make a purchase every time I entered the store!

The New Times ran a feature showing some of the work on exhibit, so we drove out to the coast for the day and sauntered in. The gallery is refurbished since days of old, and features a nice exhibit space on the first floor, while a second large art gallery is somewhat hidden up a set of stairs. The bird drawings paintings, and prints were uniquely evocative of our central coast area and the works also drew upon the beautiful surrounding environment. Since January and February are primo "Birders" months, and Morro Bay now has an ongoing Birders Festival each year, this was a perfect match. We enjoyed the display and the ceramics and jewelry that the upstairs had. We will return to more shows in this gallery.

It was prominently displayed with two beautiful seascapes on the way in. She has a very lovely light style and it made me feel just like I was out at sea. I asked her about it and she said that she did spend quite a bit of time on kayaks out in the ocean, so that was where she really got the feeling of light and air that showed in the painting We also walked around and looked at a lot of the other art. There are many many artists represented here, and each artist has their own small wall space and sometimes a shelf as well for their art. There's all kinds of art; watercolors, oil painting, acrylic paintings, and also some jewelry and pottery. I liked a lot of the earrings that were displayed in the window with the light behind them which made all the colors sparkle and gleam. There was were also some nice wheel-throne coffee mugs that had a nice subtle ombre effect. We wandered around and really enjoyed the show and chatting with our artist friend.
