Great referrals are priceless when you are going through emotional trauma and shock so you don't have to be shopping around with strangers while grieving. I didn't feel comfortable with the list the hospital gave me after I identified her body. I didn't even know how to shop for funeral services and what to look for so I was in for a crash course. I got a ton of advice from friends and relatives, and had to make decisions quickly to notify the hospital. I had several referrals to funeral homes but realized I hit the jackpot on meeting an outstanding professional and funeral director in Jacqueline Sherman. My friend went with me to meet with Ms. Sherman in her office and after that meeting there was no need to look further. As a business person I can spot a rockstar in her profession from a mile away. Ms. Sherman conveyed sincere warmth and care as I asked questions to understand the process and all the options to consider when burying a loved one. I didn't feel rushed and she patiently explained all the options available. I was also learning what a Funeral Director does before, during and after the burial process. They're a key person not only for planning the funeral service or cremation, but also for dealing with other institutions and government agencies. Ms. Sherman blew me away when she showed the extra care she puts into dressing the deceased and staging the service to give them a proper sendoff. She was also attentive to our family's needs regarding who was best to conduct the service and all the details for the service and the paperwork needed after the service. Her network of service providers was priceless for us. She always responded promptly or delegated the response if busy helping another client so I appreciated that. After my mother's funeral service, Ms. Sherman was kind enough to hold my hand through the final goodbye before my mother's body went off to the crematorium. I really appreciated her prayers and gentle care in getting me through that day. Ms. Sherman still responded promptly several months later when I needed other city paperwork for my mother's cremains to travel. What I love about her is that she is the consummate professional from A-Z in all her communications. Her colleagues were also quite supportive and helpful. Now that I know what a funeral director actually does, I highly recommend using the services of Jacqueline Sherman at Frank R. Bell Funeral Home. She is worth waiting for when you see how she presents the process and the services she and her colleagues can offer to meet your needs. Most importantly, when you see her creative skills as a funeral director who is a master at her craft, with many years of experience, you won't want to look any further! I had to wait several months to write this review and for things to settle down after my mother's passing. The funeral director did a great job of embalming a decedent and dressing my neighbor beautifully to provide a final positive viewing memory. The body viewed added a personal touch of the decedent as the funeral director allowed personal items as small stuff animals, and religious items as two religious rosaries wrapped around the hands. There is a kneeling ledge for family and loved ones to pray and/or ponder in deep thought front and center of the decedent. I was gazed in awe with the funeral director's quality work of embalm who carefully position the hand one above the other looking very subtle and natural, cosmetize to groom and dress beautifully. The lip stick and cosmetic applied appears very natural to match the decedent's skin which I am very impressed of the quality work. Embalming a decedent makes a significant visible difference. There is abundant seating in the viewing room and COVID-19 compliance of six feet social distancing. Lighting was very dingy and the room appears tatty and derelict in need of an upgrade for 2021 era. Cassese Funeral Home produces Catholic laminated memorial cards for your attendees. The decedent's family displayed photos and there was a guest book for attendees to sign. Cassese provides floor standing easels and console tables to display photos of the decedent's life. Cassese allows the family to provide a pastor to perform an abridged religious ceremony to bless the decedent. I am deeply sadden for the loss of my beloved neighbor. Cassese Funeral Home has a free parking lot available for guests.
