Since then, we've been going here. Everybody is nice and the office is clean. I usually see Dr. Peavler but have also been examined by Dr. Powe. I made my first visit to Dr. Snowden's office this week for a tooth problem. I let him know that I…read morewas a "dentophobic" patient and had only been to a dentist a few times in my life when I absolutely had to. He and Devan, his assistant went out of their way to make me feel comfortable and relaxed. When it was determined by X-ray that my cracked tooth would need to be extracted, he slowly explained the process and that he would do everything possible to keep me comfortable. He took his time, giving me a small amount of lidocaine to start the numbing process, then waited to give me a second shot of it to complete the numbing. Throughout the procedure, he inquired about me having any pain, which I did not have. In fact, I suffered NO pain at all throughout the process, . I selected Dr. Snowden after reading his many reviews saying how friendly and professional he and his staff were. I am so lucky to have selected him as my dentist, and I will certainly return. (Best choice I made) I was traveling 2 hours for…read morepretransplant appointments and finally received my surgery in Jan '19, 1 year after restarting the process. They made me feel comfortable going into the process like they had everything covered. I felt informed going into the procedure. They and everyone I talked to leading up said it would be easier with a donor because I could wait up to 6 years without one. So my best friend of 15 years stepped up and donated! She loved her coordinator and kept in touch a lot with questions. I only heard from mine about quarterly. I was told I needed to seek therapy for my anxiety and depression so I did, which was useful for me. Time for the transplant part. Surgery went well. After checking in we were brought back within 30 minutes. We were allowed to have 1 person with us to wait. Post op was worse for me than it was for my donor. I won't go into the complications I had with my stay in the hospital. They sent her out on a pain drip but I had to request 5mg every 6 hours? There was no communication between any of my care team throughout the recovery. My education went well but was hard to understand but they gave me plenty of reading material and things to try and make it easier. They gave me an excellent pill organizer large enough to hold all of my meds. I had never had a large procedure like this before that I had not been sent home on any anti anxiety medication to get me through at least 2 weeks post op. Especially with a the trauma I had endured throughout that time. My visits after we're long and inconvenient because of the wait time got longer and longer waiting for a Dr to come in for 5 minutes ask me how I was and then give me my next apt. I had to leave at least twice due to inconvenience with it and had to make first available apts. which they later told me would not be an option for me.
