Have not been under the care of his father Syrus, but David runs late. Inconsiderably late. I feel for the office staff as they get the brunt of complaints and unhappy patients coming at them. Stephanie in the office, is lovely. Our appt was for Mohs surgery. It felt like a cattle call with my 94 year old dad at a 12:30 appt, not called back til 1:40. Sat in exam room another 20 minutes. Dr moseys in at 2:00. By 2:30 we're told to come back in an hour. (Hour needed to look at tissue under scope by another tech on site).We waited the hour. It was 4:00 before we got called back. Sat another 30 minutes in exam room. Yes, this type of appt includes waiting, but over four hours is not acceptable. We were not alone in our disappointment. The entire waiting room of 9 people were all at their wits end, along with us. I canceled the rest of my dad's appts with this dr and have been happy with a different one...so far! I refuse to allow any patient, especially an elderly one, be dismissed in such a way. And treated with zero urgency and respect, in my opinion. Why two stars? He got clear markers. read more

Referred here by my regular doctor, because I have a cyst on my finger. It took 4+ weeks to get an appointment, and that was with first available, any time, availability. Arrived at 1:45 PM for a 2 PM appointment, actually ended up in the examining room just about 4 PM Every appointment was running 45 minutes to an hour behind. Everyone in the waiting room was frustrated, and a woman told me that the last time she was here it was for several hours. Got into the examining room, and the doctor barely looked at my finger, told me what it was, and that he was referring me to his friend, another doctor, that works in Long Beach. I told him Long Beach was too far for me, and he said he didn't really know any other hand surgeons. Really? I find it very hard to believe that the only doctor you know, is your friend who are trying to drum up business for. Is. I told him it was hurting and looked infected, and I couldn't wait another 4 to 5 weeks to get another appointment, and he told me that he could do it, but it may not fix the problem and he didn't really want to. OMG, WTH? And then said, "a really long wait for a short answer, huh? ". The Assistant in the room with him looked horrified at his responses. He walked out of the room and told me that I was getting a bill in the mail for an office visit. His dad, who is also part of the practice is probably a nice doctor according to these reviews. The son is a 100% waste of your time. I'm complaining to my insurance company tomorrow because I don't feel like I should have to pay for an office visit that wasn't really an office visit. Dr. David Rayhan is a good doctor, however, he consistently overbooks and seems to have no problem with patients waiting up to an hour and a half past their appointment time. In addition to having little respect for his patients' time, this situation puts stress on his office staff. If you are a busy person that needs to get back to work, get home, to another appointment, or pick up kids at school, I STRONGLY suggest you choose another doctor. It's really a shame because he's a good doctor and seems to care about his patients health, but just not about their time. You've been warned. read more

My experience was HORRID. His lobby was filthy - I wanted to take a shower the entire time I waited. There wasn't a single chair that didn't look like someone had pooped on it (some multiple poops). It looked like they hadn't changed their marketing materials since the '90s (sun faded). I arrived on time and waited for an hour, when I decided to walk out. As I was telling the receptionist this, the doctor heard me and pulled me into a small patient room that was filled with so much clutter from what appeared like the 1960s there wasn't really room for both the doctor and I. - He never introduced himself. - He said "take off your shirt". Which I thought would be followed by "here's a gown, I'll be right back." No, it was take off your shirt, while I watch you undress and then I'm going to sit here with the door 1/2 open and talk to you like with you in this undressed state for about 10minutes. At one point someone started to come in the room and backed out. - There was more to the appt, all of it was negative. He is extremely poor at practice mgmt and his personal professionalism is no better. Is he paying for these good reviews? I can't see him earning them. Bummed I waited a month for this appointment & it was a waste of time. read more

From arriving to leaving this was an excellent experience. Going to any doctor is a pain. It's scary and frustrating, but The Rayhans make the process a breeze. I went in for a removal surgery and was in and out within 2 hours time. I filled out the usual paper work, spoke with the son, David. He explained every part of the process as we went through the surgery. I was awake the entire time as it wasn't too complex. I didn't feel any pain at all through the process. The fact that there is no reviews in years speaks volumes. I saw the son David Rayhan. Something is not right with him. Talks a million miles a minute about unrelated things. Interrupts and to be honest....he seems a bit "off". He is not focused and seems out there!! My friend needed her toenail sent to the lab for a biopsy. HE HANDED HER THE NAIL CLIPPERS AND TOLD HER TO GET A CLIPPING AND PUT IT IN THE CUP!! The "nurse" stood there. Hang on you reach in your pocket and pull out nail clippers? I was there and watched this whole thing. Very odd. I was there for a separate problem but we were in the room together. He took a biopsy off my face. I literally had to tell him to quit talking about random stuff and focus on my face. Follow up appointments.......receptionist canceled twice because he had personal issues and would not be in.. This guy is maybe the biggest jerk I have ever met! His "bed side manner" is non existent. He was absolutely rude to me to the point I couldn't even believe. I can't believe in a million years that anybody seeing him for the first time would ever go back. I went back again only to finish my treatment. I was thinking, maybe this bag just had a bad day....nope. The same guy, maybe even worse. The first time I was there, I waited over an hour and a half. Finally, when he came in, it's not sorry to make you wait. Nothing. He Just rushed through the appt. and acted in a hurry to get you out of there. The second time I came in, it was at an hour and a half and I just left. Walking out of there I'm thinking, is this guy for real? I think all the patients waiting over 2 hours were thinking the same thing. I heard their complaints on the way out. He's there just for the money. This is a review for a personal experience I had a few years back, but the memory is still so vivid, I decided to write this review after coming across his name. Dr. Syrus's bedside manner leaves something to be desired. Actually, my entire experience leaves a lot to be desired. His office manager lied to me when I asked her if she was considered a "in-network" provider or out of network after I called ahead and provided my PPO insurance plan. You see, with PPO insurance, you can practically see any provider, but those considered "in-network" will give you better rates and a lower co-pay than "out of network". The office manager confirmed twice (because I'm paranoid when it comes to stuff like this) that they were in-network. Billing a few weeks later turned out that they were out of network, and they tried billing me for the excess amount that my insurance provider would not pay over. The experience with Dr. Syrus was terrible. I understand most dermatologists make a good amount of money by hawking their overpriced cosmetic lines or trying to upsell you unnecessary treatments, but he didn't have to do any of that here - he simply needed to make my visit as SHORT and UNCOMFORTABLE as possible. The entire "office visit" lasted about an hour - I showed up 15 minutes early to fill out new patient paperwork, which took close 10 minutes and waited in the lobby for nearly 30 minutes before the MA took me in for vitals. Waited another 15 to see the doctor and when I met him the entire time he spent with me was about 10 minutes. His demeanor was very... unpleasant and awkward. Almost snooty. He'd say something to his assistant who would tell me what he was saying - not that the man didn't speak English - goodness if you have a American medical license, you need to speak some English - he just seemed too snooty to talk to his own patient. They did a skin biopsy on my feet - and he didn't even wait for the local anesthesia to kick in. It hurt like hell and before I knew it he just left the room. His assistant told me that the office will call me in a few weeks with the results. Just like that. I think the total amount of words I exchanged with him was like 20 words, and the ratio I spoke to him vs. his assistant was like 1:5. Absolutely worse experience I've ever had with a dermatologist. That being said, if you guys are looking for a good dermatologist and your insurance covers it, Dr. Ronald Harris at UCI is amazing. Actually, from my experience most if not all of the UCI physicians are awesome. read more

I had called a couple weeks ago to schedule an appointment here. They asked me if I wanted to Saturday, I thought wow that's convenient. OK great not many people are open on Saturdays. They scheduled me for 12:30 . When I walked in, I was surprised to see there was quite a mini people. Five people sitting separately in the waiting room. I thought wow it's pretty crowded on a Saturday. I arrived 20 minutes early to fill out my paperwork. By the time I filled out my paperwork it was my appointment time. I noticed looking around that all of the people have their eyes closed and some even have their heads back and we're falling asleep. I noticed that as I sat there for 25 minutes, but not one single person was called to the back. One of the nurses walked up, or it may have even been the doctor. I'm not sure and asked how many people were waiting, and said "wow that's a lot of people at once" so I knew this was not going to be good that we were going to be sitting here for the foreseeable future. I asked one of the ladies that was nodding off and falling asleep how long she had been sitting there and she said for an hour. Her appointment was an hour ago. So I knew that even though I have been sitting there 25 minutes that I was definitely going to be there for at least an hour or more. I walked up to the window and asked the ladies about how far behind they are, and they said "10 to 15 minutes" which obviously was a blatant lie because I had already been there 25 minutes and other people waiting for an hour. The lie irritated me, and other people heard so when I sat down there whispered to me "that's a lie. I've been here for 50 minutes. So I got up and I told her that if I was going to be waiting more than an hour, that's maybe I will just reschedule and she looked ever so happy that I was leaving, and try to reschedule me but I told her never mind. Because I'm just not thinking that I will come back. If you're going to be open on Saturdays, do not over book more than you can see at one time. Nobody wants to sit there for three hours on a Saturday like it's the emergency room. read more
